I honestly did not expect him to belt it out so beautifully. This guy has an amazing voice and that has to be one of the best versions of that song that I have ever heard.
In this scene Scotty showed his real self. A trouble man sometimes, but also a man who deeply cared for his family. A man willing to do everything to help his family. A lot of people said that Scotty was just a selfish and asshole, but i never believed that and scotty in THIS moment showed his real inner feelings.
Impressed, so I looked up if Colin has a singing background... Of course he does -- he's a stage actor! And he typically sings with full vibrato, so all the more reason to be wowed by this performance. Watch and listen to the control of his voice portraying a drunk guy singing... And it comes out with pure tone and raw emotions.
This scene hit me. He made it so believable and so real and so everything. I felt like I was watching a real event and it got me. It was seriously the one and only time I felt for Scott anything good during those seasons.
I love that demonic red light sorrounding Scotty while he sings, and the way it also shines over Alison's face right when she tells Noah about Joanie's parentage.
I was born and raised in New Orleans and now work in Downtown New Orleans and I can tell you all that this "The Affair" version is completely raw and amazing. I wish they would have played it to the end. The Animals did the original version. I absolutely love this version because you can see and feel his despair, as sad as it is. That is what makes this show so great. It is REAL and the acting is phenomenal!! Waiting for June 17, 2018.
Watched Season 1 & 2 with 22 episodes of The Affair and waiting for Season 3 in two days...Love, love the Affair and the music...reminds me of my youth.
Such an oddly haunting moment in an already somber, haunting show. Scotty singing his swan song whilst Allison point-blank confesses the truth. It stuck with me for years. The moment before everything changes.
Stupendously intense! Colin Donnell is a terrific actor and. obviously, a fine singer. I know I was supposed to hate his character's guts but I liked Scotty, which is, of course, a reflection of Colin's talent. And he's also boiling hot.
Fuuuck, man. I finally caught up with the show and this performance was phenomenal. Is there anywhere to just get Colin singing without Ruth talking and the background noise at the end?
There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God, I know I'm one My mother was a tailor She sewed my new blue jeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and trunk And the only time he's satisfied Is when he's on a drunk [Organ Solo] Oh mother, tell your children Not to do what I have done Spend your lives in sin and misery In the House of the Rising Sun Well, I got one foot on t
Just watched this on demand - fan - chuffin - tastic, brilliant chilling song to boot too. The twist with Helen at the end was great too, although not sure if this is the end??? Maybe more to come in season three, maybe other come across Scotty on their way home from the wedding, maybe he wasn't dead after all, maybe someone found him alive but let him die - more twists, love it :)
After all these years i still have goosebumps in this scene. I really miss that show...
mee too
Mee too

I honestly did not expect him to belt it out so beautifully. This guy has an amazing voice and that has to be one of the best versions of that song that I have ever heard.

+Kristian Mitchell I was thinking the same thing as I heard it. So heartbreaking.
He's done Broadway so not really a surprise :)
This moment is incredibly powerful. The fact that he sings so well makes it perfect. (Plus he is also really attractive)
One of the best scenes in this show
YES!!!!!!!

That moment where Noah slowly takes his hand off Alli's shoulder 😔
This entire scene broke my heart. The song...her confession. Just wow
Impressed, so I looked up if Colin has a singing background... Of course he does -- he's a stage actor! The part where he sings out of pitch is bewildering..
So much emotion...
This scene hit me. He made it so believable and so real and so everything. I felt like I was watching a real event and it got me. It was seriously the one and only time I felt for Scott anything good during those seasons.
Craziest scene in cinemetography. Absolutely genius
This scene gave me chills when I first saw it. His voice is just so raw and beautiful along with heavy the tension that it creates.
I love that demonic red light sorrounding Scotty while he sings, and the way it also shines over Alison's face right when she tells Noah about Joanie's parentage.
I keep watching this scene, one of my favourite versions of this awesome song
One of the best scenes/songs in the history of television
best cover ever
The look, the voice, the atmosphere . Loved this
Time stood still in this moment. One of the most intense scenes in the entire series. It was mesmerizing.
This is a really strong scene - the way Scotty performs this epic song is just great!

This is the pinnacle of the series.

Mumford and sons do the best version, ever. Highly recommended
Such an oddly haunting moment in an already somber, haunting show. Scotty singing his swan song whilst Allison point-blank confesses the truth. It stuck with me for years. The moment before everything changes.

The affair is one of the best tv series i have loved soooo much.love to 'The affair ' from bangalore, india
This is heartbreaking. Beautifully performed, but in context to the story, just heartbreaking.
Assisti a esta série e gostei muito. Está cena foi a mais marcante, fico emocionado a cada vez que revejo.
Stupendously intense! Colin Donnell is a terrific actor and. obviously, a fine singer. I know I was supposed to hate his character's guts but I liked Scotty, which is, of course, a reflection of Colin's talent. And he's also boiling hot.
what a song..what a scene
super impressed. this was the best best part by Scott
My favourite scene of the show
Love Colin and his voice, he's great in Chicago Med and Irreverent
Scotty's singing got me teary eyes.
Fuuuck, man. I finally caught up with the show and this performance was phenomenal. Is there anywhere to just get Colin singing without Ruth talking and the background noise at the end?
This guy can sing. Wow!
Wicked vocals...what a surprise from scotty
Listen to the adjusted lyrics:
Mother tell my brothers not to do as I have done
The best version i ever heard, give me pain and i like it !
Colin Donnell was awesome also in Anything Goes. He is multitalented! And.....he and Jon Hamm look so much alike, they could be brothers.
명장면 눈물 많이 흘렸어요.. 이장면 영원히 기억될거에요.....
Terrific scene and awesome version of this song, loved it. Tragic character.
Scotty fucking killed it.. 2nd best version of the song after the white buffalo ;) ps this episode was epic
love a good pain soaked performance gr8 version, adds much more depth to the song
knowing the character is a fuck up.
I still think about this scene often
It’s so Good! He’s has got to sing the best version. It’s so personal and deep yet very somber plus he doesn’t look to bad singing it 😉
Loved this scene, great cover too. In love with The Affair!
The best version perfomed. Period. Puts a pride and honor to Bad Finger.
Great performance! I can't even listen any other version after all.
Wish they would record this version for download
Lol I don't watch The show I just love Colin Connell especially in Chicago med
Aha, why I'm here
i liked this scene, scotty is a good singer : )
He must releasing a single of this song
Also, thank you for posting.
I love the way he sings this, ❤️
He already got the face and now he can sing?? so unfair
I like this song. His version is good
La escena más cargada de significado de toda la serie hasta ahora. No puedo parar de verla sin que se me acelere el corazón.

Great scene and great show.
Great cover performance, didn't expect that from drama TV show

And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk

Is when he's on a drunk

Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun
Well, I got one foot on t
Add to these it was his final hours...

he has killed it, hat tirck
Damn he can sing he just gave me chills
Absolutely f...ing amazing and You all know why...
August 2024 anyone?
This is quite the scene. It had me feeling so much for Scotty in the moment and not a lot for Alison. Which is quite something for the story
je t'adore Colin🧚♀️!!!
{J'ai pleuré pendant que tu chantais😔}
His voice!!!
Fantastic
Great cover!
Increíble interpretación👏💜
great performance..
Boy he really missed his calling. If he just got into singing he could have had everything he wanted lol.
He did Broadway...he did not
