I think E5 should be throughout the Diamond Quadrilateral and then for other connecting routes, we can use the slower 250 kph ( it must be operatinally 250 kph though) trains. All top 15 cities of india must be connected by 320 kph shinkansen. We could even ask to run 360kph Alfa X train, if the track allows.

The standard gauge track will be perfect for high speed trains, as it would help to achieve more stability than broad gauge tracks, as center of gravity will be more closer to both sides in a standard gauge train or bogey than a broad gauge tain set or bogey, which will be helpful for handling curves in high speed.
But don't you think effort should instead have been put in developing 200-250kmph BROAD GUAGE capable train, given the IR network. Also BG 220kmph test track is being built in Rajasthan
Broad gauge can't handle high speed trains on curves that good as a standard gauge train. That is the reason the majority of the countries with high speed trains use standard gauge. Also to increase speed track alignment would also need to be changed and make it as straight as possible. So it is better to just make a new alignment with standard gauge for maximum efficiency.

Shinkasen is coming atleast for this corridor since infrastructure is made for bullet train and not any other high speed train.

Small correction beml will built train sets which will run at 250 kmph not 220 and it will be tested at 280 kmph. Anything below 250 it's not high speed train. Pls do your home work properly.

If we'd be successful to build 220 kmph operational speed train,we need not bullet train now as bullet trains are highly expensive, so our common people will not afford it, if we see ,Mumbai to Amedabad Bullet train's project ,we have to expense 1 lakh, 10 crore Rupees to make only 508 km bullet train's infrastructure, think ,how big ammount ! ,if we waste so huge money only to make 508 km railway , then see, if want to build 2400 km bullet train's infrastructure, how much ammount needed ?
