Aquascape tutorial: epic blackwater tank for Apistogramma Hongsloi. This aquarium is easy, cheap, and doesn't require a lot of maintenance. Best beginner tank? Let me know in the comments!

Great result. Wish I could convince my wife since I have such an empty tank. Maybe later. How many Oto’s do you have in the tank? Do you also feed them separate or let them live of what is in the tank?

Hi Peter. Thank you for your comment! I have 5 Otos inside. Yes I feed them separately with algae wafers and cucumber. For now only 3 times per week - there is no need for more. I will keep my fingers crossed that your wife will change her mind ;) All the best!

    What sand did you die?

This is just ordinary sand. Not silica sand, the colour is too yellow. This indicates a slight iron content, but not enough to be soluble. Look around in garden centres and builder's merchants.

man, we can never good java fern like this around here. They're bunched up with crazy amounts of string, only to find out they're separate leaves 🤨🤨

Great video and content you have going on here. Also because you keep apistogramma. I've never kept apistogramma until about a year ago and I can't believe what I've missed. I keep both yellow head and opal Borellii fish. I absolutely love there personalities. My yellow heads have spawned again for me. I lost the first batch of fry. I only keep fish suitable for my water parameters which is moderately hard. I believe if the fish spawn in your water and the fry can be raised successfully then your fish are happy. Otherwise it can be very expensive hobby. I have 4 aquariums and I only keep apistogramma Borellii, endllers,Galaxy Rasboras and shrimps. I've bred everything I've got.
