thank you for diving into The Warning. I have suggestion that will take you on a bit of a journey if you're interested. In 2014 (at the tender young ages of 14, 12, and 9) they recorded a cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman and posted it to YT with the sole intention of sharing it with their grandparents and other relatives. A few weeks later, that video ended up going viral to the tune of over 24 mil. views today. Fast forward to 2021and Metallica is releasing the 30th anniversary of the Black album and part of that celebration they invited over 50 artists to re-imagine a song from that album in their own style and they released it as a charity fundraiser called The Blacklist Album. Alessia Cara, a Canadian pop singer/songwriter was invited to participate but was struggling to figure out what to do so through some mutual contacts she was put in touch with The Warning. During the height of the pandemic, TW accepted the offer and they had a deadline of 10 days to get the finished product submitted to Metallica so it could be included. With them in Mexico and Alessia in Canada, they got the producer to fly to Monterrey and they completely stripped the song down to it's core. They first built it back up as a pop song for Alessia's talents, and then added in that TW magic sauce of theirs and created a completely new version of an iconic song. As a long time Metallica fan I will not hesitate to say that I like this version better. It is now one of their favorite songs to play live, especially at festivals as it will grab the attention of possible new fans who are passing by. For their live sets, they further tweaked it to make it heavier and more fully their style while keeping Alessia's harmonies on a backing track to enhance it.
With all that being said, I suggest a triple play of Enter Sandman - start with the 2014 cover, then the 2021 official video with Alessia, and then the live version from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022 (the same show as this Choke video).

They don’t have many songs with solos, but if you check the song “Z” live session, it has a solo.

Their ages are easy to figure, since they all occur around New Year's and Dany was born in 2000, Pau two years later and Ale 5 years later. So in this 2021 video Dany is 21, Pau is 19 and Ale is 16 (sixteen!!). Dany has been a PRS sponsored artist for a couple of years now, and Ale has been a Spector artist since she was 13.

I saw The Warning at the private show at Bush Hall, London, U.K. at the end of May and I was standing right in front of Ale and her thunderous bass cab. The power and sound quality that they generate and the stage presence and performance levels are off the scale. Best gig I've been to in a very long time.
So glad you followed up and checked out their real version of this song. Just wait till you see "Disciple" and "Dust to Dust" Live at Teatro Metropolitan, if you really want to see what these incredibly talented young women can do you have to checkout those two songs, it will blow your mind. These three sisters are just out of this world.

Great reaction! These ladies have (all three of them) stage presence that most people spend their entire career trying to achieve. If you dive headfirst down thr rabbit hole it will be one of the most rewarding musical journeys you'll experience. After following music for decades I thought I'd seen it all, then I watched the Choke and Evolve out of the blue when they popped up in my feed. I haven't been the same since. They are the real deal, classically trained on piano, they all sing and are multi-instrumentalists, write and arrange all their own material and have yet to write a mediocre song. Don't take my word for it, you'll see for yourself. They will have an enormous impact on the music world.
For my money, the best song is Martirio and the live version from this same concert js amazing. Dany actually does shred on that one.
Next you should do a triple shot of The Warning -Enter Sandman. 2014 cover they did for family but had to put it on TH-cam (24+ million views now) cause the video was to big for email. 2021 official video with Alessia Cara. Which is a complete reinvention of Enter Sandman. Then their reinvention of Enter Sandman live ( at same show as the live version of Choke you did)

Just to add to the amazingness of this live performance understand that this concert was in Mexico City- elevation 7,349 ft. above sea level and they played a 1.5 hour concert with this dynamic of music all the way through! Either Dany (guitar) singing lead or Pau (drummer) singing lead (while drumming or out front)! That is the power of The Warning. Want more live performances-

You've chosen a Great Rabbit hole to go down. These Sisters are the real deal. I would do all the live performances from Teatro Metropolitan for sure, and also, I see you did their early performance of Enter Sandman, but you should also do their cover of "Atlas rise" too.
Oh, I think the sisters have drawn another one into the rabbit hole! From their channel, look for the other Teatro Metropolitan songs - 'Disciple', 'Animosity', their completely rebuilt cover of 'Enter Sandman', 'Money', 'Martirio' (in Spanish), and 'Dust to Dust' - with the drummer singing while still drumming furiously.

You can't say that with many bands that live is better. No auto tune, no double takes or added production, just pure rock and roll mixed in with tonnes of talent.
This concert is a fine example of each of their performances. They give 100% each and everytime. There is more from this concert at the Teatro Metropolitan and it is great that you reacted to the music video and then the live for comparison. Maybe this could be a feature?

One of the best live bands I've ever experienced. You'll find that most of TWA prefers the live quality videos. All these Teatro Metropolitan videos are excellent. Dany doesn't believe in guitar solos unless they fit the song. It's all about the music not just how well you can play your instrument. Z would be a good choice for a solo.
Sometime soon, you should listen to "Dust to Dust" live from the same Teatro Metropolitan show. Dust to Dust is the song that pulled several of us fans down the rabbit hole. Its a banger of a song with the drummer, Paulina, doing a large amount of the lead vocals while killing it on the drums.
Dust to Dust is the prologue to the concept album, Queen of The Murder Scene, which is a total headtrip in itself.

As you discovered, they are best experienced live and their best live performances (so far) are the ones from Teatro Metropolitan; excellent video and sound recording.
I would suggest a possible "3-peat" of their song 'Martirio'. Check out the OMV first, then the live studio recording from Sirius Octane studios, and finally the live performance from Teatro.
Martirio is a powerful rock anthem that they composed and sing in Spanish. You don't have to understand the words to enjoy how good it is, but the translated lyrics are just another example of what amazing songwriters they are.
With the OMV you get the album mix, with the Octane version you get a stripped-down version that highlights just the ladies and their instruments, and the live version shows what happens when the crowd feeds them energy and love.
Dany does sprinkle solos around in all 3 albums and they are all super special and amazing
And because they aren't in every song it makes every one she does even more special.

I might disagree with the characterization about being wrong with the first track. I think there are no bad gateway drugs into The Warning. I actually kind of like the grandson remix. But going back to the source material is a good choice IMHO. Yes, Holy fuck is right. They are really good. Stop the video all you want if you have something to say. Then back up a few seconds. And start playing again. I am hear to find out what you think. I already know the song.
Live or studio? YES!! One of their patreons, GMan, has called them a studio-quality live band. I could not agree more. Both versions are really good, but they pack a punch live that hits heavy. Their charisma on stage is off the charts. I have seen them 4 times now and walk away shaking my head with a huge smile on my face. They have a way to reaching out to an audience, 200 or 10,000 strong, that I have not seen in decades.
There are no bad performances from the Teatro show.
Since you are seeming interested in continuing on The Warning path, I would suggest a three video series so you can see how far they have come. The Warning have a wonderful relationship with Metallica’s Enter Sandman.
1) The did a video cover in their basement when they were 14, 12, and 9 that their father uploaded to TH-cam for the grandparents to see. Start here.
2) Metallica invited Alessia Cara to participate in the Blacklist 30th Anniversary album. Alessia’a team contacted The Warning and the two groups wrote, recorded, and produced an entirely new version of Sandman in only one week that ended up being the lead track on Metallica’s anniversary album. The official music video for that is a great second video.
3) The Warning then did their Sandman version at the same Teatro Metropolitan concert you have been watching. This live performance is epic.
Several reactors have done these back to back in the same reaction video and been blown away. By your reactions so far, i think you might really enjoy this.

The live versions will always, always, ALWAYS be better. They try to make their recordings as true to live as possible, but the mix isn't fine tuned until it's been road tested. oh YEAH!! live is always the best..all three play to the song, not showmanship, but what the song needs!
You should react to Dany doing songs with just her guitar and sometimes without. Usually the without are her mini concerts
I prefer the live version because you can really hear Dany’s natural vibrato more than in the OMV.
She is singing up to a D5 at the end of that ascending belt in the chorus and she absolutely nails it live every performance.
We also get to hear Ale’s beautiful smokey lower end vocal on the breakdown.
All 3 sisters have great voices with Dany being the most developed.
Pau also has a powerful voice but it tends to be a bit more raspy at times than Dany’s and she has a little less vocal range.
Ale has the least developed voice of the three but she presents a beautiful falsetto from time to time on backing vocals.
Being sisters their harmonies are next level. Ale generally comes in lower than Dany on harmonies with Pau coming over the top (unless Dany is belting a higher vocal).
All 3 sisters are excellent musicians. Dany’s solos tend to be more melodic than virtuosic.
She has to play both lead and rhythm parts during specific times in songs and cover most lead singing duties so it unlikely you’ll ever see her really go off onstage. There are offstage videos of her laying it down very well out there. It’s likely a general consensus amongst the TWA that Dany’s guitar skills are somewhat underutilized due to the makeup and best interests of the band as a whole. Both Ale and Pau are well recognized throughout the industry for their technical proficiency on their respective instruments. Dany may not get the recognition for her guitar skills as much but she does for her vocals and that’s really what is more important for the band.
The great thing about this band is their humility. No matter what levels they reach in music they will always tell you how much they have yet to learn.

You need to do a comparison reaction to Disciple. The oficial video will blow your mind, but the live performance from this same concert is increadible.
Now i saw you with Oasis shirt i must say that is my adolescence favourite band and now i'm 41 and i feel the same with The Warning that those years. I never thought it would happen.

It was a cover done by Grandson and Zero9:36 with the approval of TW, so they were supposed to be there. It was not a The Warning music video featuring them. Nothing wrong with that. It just wasn't TW official mv for the song.

Start from the beginning with the TED talks, move your way up to The Dakota Bar and Iguana Bar performances, then the almighty Lunario QOTMS performance to today.
While the production value of this Teatro Metropolitan performance is great, I prefer the Peru performance followed by the Berlin and Madrid shows.

as a guitarist in my opinion shredding means nothing Dany gets so much more emotion out of they way she plays then any shredder does guitars are meant to sing and convey feelings shedding's fine for a metal group and has its place but the ability to convey emotion with simple riffs and chords is the measure of a true guitarist
I don’t think it was wrong at all. I like that mashup and love the rebelliousness. It brings thought of RATM meets Led Zeppelin meets Deep Purple. And yes, never underestimate how hard it is to bee guitarist in a 3 piece band. It’s Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker hard. Playing in a three piece always exhausted me. As a guitarist it’s one continuous heavy lift from beginning to end. Give me a keyboard (love playing against a keyboard), and a rhythm guitar to fill out the sound. As a matter of fact, give me a lead guitarist and I’ll play rhythm. :)
