    I use this mic in my cello for some live performances. Always, depending of the instrumental configuration on stage. when instruments are not acustically compatibles ( i mean differences, as drums or bagpipes and cello), I use a pick up, but with a sustancial unreal sound. To use the DPA, always ressult an great experience. Even, improves the natural quality of my instrument. A very good microphone.

    Hello! Thank you for your playing, review and entire video! Superb and I got hooked on your content :-) I actually have a few questions - how do you blend with phase correction? What do you use/program? as well, what do you plug your dpa to, which recording machine/mixer and what do you use to edit your music in?

    Nice Demo. I came here to hear the DP 4099 & you did it justice!

      Thank you Rich915. This microphone is one of my favorite instrument mic's. Specially when I use it together with a room mic to catch some of the room :)

      If I use the 4099 up close and a QTC40 mic a foot or more away and blend them like you did here, can I just use a phase reverse switch in my DAW, (Logic Pro X)?? Do I need some fancy plugin to match phase of the two tracks, or will a simple phase reverse switch in Logic Pro X work?

      That really depends. I really can't give you an answer without listening to the recording. But you could just zoom in on the two tracks and then nudge on of the tracks a tiny bit to get the phase in place. But try to listen to the tracks first and focus on if something in the sound is missing when they play together. If you like the sound you've got, there is no point in changing anything :)

    Thank you for this demo. I also really enjoyed your videos where demonstrated using two microphones to capture acoustic guitar and vocals at the same time. I often find myself recording singing guitar players and I am interested in this microphone to capture guitar, while minimizing vocal leakage. Could you make a video demonstrating vocals and guitar, showing the vocal leakage that this mic captures? If not, could you share with me your thoughts on that? I feel like in your other videos the sm57 did the best job of rejecting the vocal bleed, but didn't have the condenser style-sound that many (myself included) love on acoustic. I'm wondering if this mic could really isolate the acoustic guitar from the vocals, and provide a great sound.
    Thanks again, I find your videos very informational!

      Thank you telecasterrok :D Shure I can make a video showing the leakage with the DPA mic :)

    Very good video!! Thanks for sharing this information!!! Could I do the same thing with two Earthworks QTC40 mics??

      +Celticsaint777 I´m glad you liked it! Yes, you can blend the two microphones together :) But I haven´t used Earthworks QTC40, so you just have to try it to figure out how great the result will be.

    Great video, in your opinion i can use it in live like a pub, just guitar and voice without larsen?

      I don’t use it on small stages due to feed back. But if you sit behind the speakers it would work :)

    would I be able to plug it straight into my pedalboard? or would I need something like a preamp before it?

    • @snorrebusch5020
      @snorrebusch5020  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ky Fisher you need a preamp with phantom power to USE the mic :-)

    The way this guy plays guitar it makes no difference which microphone he uses. Just playin' simple basic chords in the first position will be nice beside a campfire , but want be sufficient to test out the capabilities of a mic!
