    Best reason to use 4099 is that it follows the violin irrespective of players movement. Also for Indian style of playing violin which is sitting down takes away the obstruction of Mic stand and allows complete view of the Artist. Thank you for the video.

    Thx! Gonna use this 4099 mount tomorrow for a recording of a folk musician playing violin in a funeral on a tv drama. Nice to see you play!

    Hi David, I’m really enjoying all of your videos! Here I wanted to point out that the XLR adapter that comes with dpa mics includes a ring that can be interchanged with the belt clip by unscrewing the adapter and making the switch. This allows the XLR adapter to be plugged directly into a mixing board, etc, without bending or damaging that belt clip. dpa shouldn’t be faulted for that because they have provided a solution there.
    Thanks!

      Hi Mark, Thanks for you comment and big sorry for the late reply. I had to take a break a bit. You are totally right. I noticed that after my video was posted. My bad, apologies to dpa ! Little note, it's now easier to unscrew it on their new core version. Dpa 4099V is the king despite that little deduction on my review. ( it's a nearly perfect mic) Thanks for your support. I have a lot new stuff coming up soon. Have a great weekend

    I just got a DPA 4099 and appreciate your review! What wireless system would you recommend using with it and how do you deal with needing multiple adapters for various wireless systems?

    Hi. I didnt know there is a specificly 4099V for stringplayers like violin. The DPA4099 MIC is a pick any instrument mic! What you need is the clip-on for in your case a violin but the mic is the same if you are a drummer . DPA4099 king mic? Hell yeah!!!

    Sounds pretty good. How durable is the gooseneck? I used to use an Audio Teknika product of similar design but found the gooseneck got "soft" after a while and tended to move gradually downwards from a high start point during a gig, so I ended up placing it with the foam sitting on the strings behind the bridge. Ended up ditching it for a Baggs pickup but the sound quality is better with mics.

      Tks! The gooseneck is not loosing up at all over time. I have several copies and it never been an issue. The holder on the other hand have to be replaced over time.

    Hola. Disculpa, ¿En este microfono se puede cambiar de canal para ecitar interferencia con otras señales como oas de los radios de comunicación?

    You can unscrew the XLR capsul and take out the clip, you don't need to break the clip 🙄

    Thank you very much for that video. Maybe you also heared it but is it somehow possible to not get the finger tapping sounds on the recording ? Best regards

    • @davidpicheviolin
      @davidpicheviolin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes of course if i put the mic further or by applying an Eq for it. Like I said in the video. I show a transparent experience of the microphone. When I mix I take some of the finger tapping out, but not all of it. Have in mind that it seems worst because I'm playing violin only. In a band or put on a track, you wont notice it as much and to be honest...you want some of it to make it ''alive''. Dpa is a powerful and reliable microphone. Thanks for watching ! Peace

    Are this not wireless then?

    • @davidpicheviolin
      @davidpicheviolin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The microphone comes from the box with an xlr adaptor that you screw on, but you can easily put it on a wireless receiver.

      @@davidpicheviolin Doesn't it need phantom power? If so, where would it get it in a wireless plug?

    • @dagb7271
      @dagb7271 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will then get its voltage from the belt pack, so that’s no issue at all really.
