    This is a great video. Might I add that I like to let mine soak in a vinegar-water mixture that covers them for a about 30 mins- you’d be amazed out how dirty the water is even after you’ve cleaned them.

    • @thespaatreynolda2921

      @@Dwatts24111 I usually will use about a entire small bottle of vinegar between both sinks filled with water. So that’s a 16oz bottle or 8oz per sink.

    What are the whys about cleaning. What does the salt do? Does it season it at this point? What does the vinegar do? Do you rinse ALL of the salt and vinegar off? This is just basic stuff that I don't quite understand. Have you ever eaten greens prepared by someone who did not use this method? Can you tell the difference? I did read through some of the comments and saw some responses about the reason for salt (killing unseeable bugs)

    • @Iamsharifachioma
      @Iamsharifachioma  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Salt-helps remove dirt
      Vinegar- Helps with taste [in my opinion]
      I rinse all the salt off, and leave just a little vinegar before cooking them
      I've had many collard greens, and I've not known how they were prepared. Do they taste like mine? Not exactly, but I think it has more to do with how they cooked versus how they are prepared.
      Hope this was helpful ☺️

      I try to wash off as much as possible. The vinegar helps with the taste when cooking. Some people juice them, but I’ve personally never eaten them raw. 😊
