Lions have the worst life. They have a 20 pct chance at reaching age two. If they are a male 10 yrs is a long life and is full of violence every single day. If they are a female some male might come along murder her kids and rape her and she will have to raise his bastard Cubs. They live in Africa... not exactly San Diego or the Caribbean

i really hope so. Being an only cub must be really tough... but one benefit is that he will get all of his mothers milk without needing to share or compete and so as long as he can keep up with the pride he will grow quickly.

Amazing how they communicated to the cubs to stay behind and the cubs did not follow during the hunt.
i just saw a video where a leopard took her partly grown cub for a hunt. she went away from him for a few minutes and when she came back he was dead.

It seems like the Mbiri Pride needs a proper male coalition, not their sons and brothers hanging around. If all the females can have cubs together their survival rate will go up.

@@kimberlylopez9402 Hey Kimberly. No updates; it seems so strangely quiet the past few weeks. I wonder with the rains if animals have been harder to find? I do miss the boys and their prides, esp the subadults. Hopefully we get an update soon!

The Mbiri pride for now have accepted their brothers as coalition leaders...it's a small pride to take care of three lions though. This new mom clearly needed more experience, those cubs probably should have been denned a little longer. With only one female lactating that hurts the lone survivor's chances too...
Wow, the ticks are just over the top there aren't they? As soon as I felt one, I'd be like Sis, anyone pls pls get these off of me n I'll return the favor. lol So SO happy this little one is still alive. I know this was yrs ago, but still....

Its as if she heard you say "maybe she will move..." just like 10 days ago you said "its not as if she's a bad mother" and she looked right at you until you reassured her she's a good mom.

What were all those dark spots on that female? I noticed a large swollen tick in her right ear, could those dark spots be more parasites?
Not a lot of milk it seems. If she nurses often, even a little, she will produce more milk.
Look at the ticks on the mother.

there are lots of ticklings on lioness mother is that effects the quality of the milk.
the female seems full of ticks - would that affect her health and feeding the cubs?
Not really they have incredible immunity against ticks and diseases.
Before the orpen males died, how many cubs / subadult do they have ? And how many are left now?
they have 2 older cubs, the last youngest cubs fathers are unknown, debated between either the Tintswalo males or Zigzag Mbiri male
This cub is still pretty thin looking; and i dont think hes getting very much milk from his mother; shes going dry looks like; he needs to start eating bugs and meat.
You mentioned in the last video that this is the first litter for this female. Could this female be a direct sister of the pride males...Mandevu and Ncile?
Yes she is their sister, but it's 50/50 on Tintswalo males vs. Mbiri male (Zigzag/Scar) being the fathers.

I'd like to send you some money so you use that money to intervene and give sick animals vet care, I wish to send regular donations if it's confirmed you guys can actually rescue sick animal's. To many sick animals are being ignored even cubs and I believe that is WRONG, ESPECIALLY after its us humans that have hunted them and caused them so much grief. Least we can do is give sick lions and cubs vet care when they need it, a quick tranquilize and vitamin supplement and antibiotics booster shot, I cannot understand why rangers cannot do that, nobody can convince me it's all about the laws coz that's nonsense, ive seen many videos of rangers intervening helping sick animals, so really no excuses. Anyway I'm happy to send regular cash to support them if you give me link to send money. I support your channel I'm not verbally attacking you, I just don't understand why some rangers help sick animals and some don't

Many times the policy is that animals are helped if the injury is because of humans. Otherwise, they allow nature to take its course. I agree with this policy. I think we do more harm when we interfere with animals. The only time I might agree with interference is for endangered animals. The consequences need to be weighed in all these situations.
Davidsheldrick wildlife trust fund in Kenya receives donations from well wishers. DSWT together Kenya wildlife Service has helped so many animals from Elephants to lions no animal is left behind... Lions are endagered we shouldnt just watch and see them die and say its nature 😢
인간이 자기들이익을위해동물들서식지까지침범하며 먹이사슬진로를방해하고스트레스를주는것은잘못됐다고생각합니다 인간이보기에는아무것도아닌구경거리겠지만 사자들에겐생명과직결된중요한생존보전인것인데..그렇잖아도사자의숫자가줄어들고있는현실에서 많은인간들의차가서식지를돌아다니며 교란과환경을흐트러놓는것이라고생각해서 볼때마다마음이너무불편하고좋지않습니다
