An attacking player in an offside position is clearly obstructing the goalkeeper's line of vision.
VAR officials probably used this clause in Law 11 to call Harry Kane Offside. But yeah it should be made clear when decisions happen like that. I’m sure its even more confusing for the fans in the stadium.

People keep saying that yet last game we beat italy with the same goal margin we beat malta. Is 3-1 against italy bad? No.
I never really understood the pure hatred of maguire but this game really opened my eyes he is so slow on the ball and it was just extenenly painful to watch. Takes 9 hours to make a sideways pass to his center back.

The editing could have included Malta's match action as well, not just England with the ball. Give credit to where it's due.
Can’t really do much with three minutes and forty seconds. I think about seven or eight minutes is more reasonable and would help to give a more balanced view of the game, showing the best bits of both sides. But it is what it is - skeletal highlights.
Edit: having said that, I have just seen that there is another video with over eight minutes of highlights.

To think some father would have taken his son to this game and paid a fortune to do it. Knowing it was lowly Malta England was playing, he would have expected a lot of England goals. A great treat for his son or daughter. Unfortunately, they were served up with a lack lustre display, by a team where anyone of the English team would probably cost more than the whole Maltese team put together. Most would have predicted a goal feast for England. I know football is about winning, but at the same time it's about entertainment. There was no entertainment here. 2-0 at home against Malta. I have no clue why the referee made some of those decisions, the highlights didn't show Rashford's clear penalty and the goal from Declan Rice didn't even touch Kane. I don't know what the world is coming to with VAR.

It's not the fact that the ball didn't touch Kane but Kane's offside position was within the trajectory of the ball which was deemed an obstruction to the Maltese keeper's line of sight
