  • The transnational ”Peaks of the Balkans” leads through the remote and wild mountainous region of Western Balkans. By using shepherd paths and footways, the trail winds through high alpine mountains up to 2300 meters above sea level and leads through mountains scenery, with a diversity of breathtaking landscapes.
The 192-kilometre signposted Trail winds through the remote and unspoilt mountainous regions of Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro in the Southern end of the Dinaric Alps in South East Europe.
The Peaks of the Balkans Trail was born with a passion to preserve the cultural, natural and spiritual heritage of these communities, linking them together to create a rare journey for both local inhabitants and for visitors.

@@dougieranger Just booked return flights to Pristina Airport in Kosovo. Then nearer the time we contacted some of the guesthouses via Instagram / Facebook
The good old Cicerone guidebook was essential
There are guided tours available though if that's your cup of tea

@@darrencurtisuk Thanks man, that looked absolutely phenomenal. Still largely unspoiled and the people came across as friendly.
I take my hat off to Lynchy, the boy done good.

More beautiful country! Great view from that pass. The boulder field didn't look like much fun though.

Came here from day 1 vid, dont remember if you said but what kind of price can you expect to pay to stay in one of those b&b's? For campers, what kind of opportunities are there to buy meals and other supplies?

Think they were 20-25 euro, which included evening meal, bed & breakfast. They would offer to make a "lunch packet" for 5 euro, however these were hit & miss.
Most villages had either a small shop or the guesthouse would have a few snacks to sell.
Teth & Plav both had mini supermarkets which stocked everything you'd need
