Today, with the advantage of technology could go further down the line and able to enjoy much seniors like T N Rajaratnam, Vedaranyam Vedamurthy, Thirumeygnam Nadarajasundaram and several other stalwarts in Nadaswaram and Nachyarkoil Ragava Pillai, Valangaiman Shanmugasundaram Pillai, Thirucherai Muthukumarasamy, Valayapatti Subramaniam till the present day Haridwaramangalam Palanivel to Mannargudi Vasudevan to the emerging vibrant vidwan Swamimali Gurunathan. Nothing can be even thought of as an alternative to our traditional pipe and barrel (Nadaswaram and Thavil).
Great companionship. In fact, in early eighties, by listening to this pair and the combination of Kunnakudi and Valayapatti only I was drawn towards enjoying Carnatic music, particularly Nadaswaram and Thavil. Jambavans.
