I thought Eliud couldn't be beaten. His times are completely crazy. But what Kelvin Kiptum has delivered here is simply incredible. It's probably only a matter of time until the 2-minute mark is reached. And of course we are now waiting for the clash of the titans: Eliud vs. Kelvin!
The year is 2756. A genetically engineered embryo containing the frozen sperm of Kiptum, Kipchoge, and Bolt, is fused with The terminator, and wins the Marathon with a time of sub 2 mins.
For sure! The previous men’s record on this course was 2:03:45 which he beat by OVER 3 MINUTES! Berlin is a faster course where Kipchoge had the 2:01:09 world record from last year so I pretty much guarantee you Kiptum will drop a sub 2 hour barrier time in Berlin next year if the course conditions are favourable that day!
Two greats of the marathon - Samuel Wanjiru and Kelvin Kiptum - Both Kenyan, both died at age 24, both had so much more to show us. Wanjiru still holds the Olympic record and I dare say, Kiptum will hold the World record for many years to come.
I have been fortunate to run 9 x marathons, including the 6 x majors - every time, it takes me circa 2 hours to recover - this legend looks fresher than me jogging to the local store 🤣🥰👏👏 🐐 👏
Average of 4:36 per mile. For 26.2 miles. I called my self a distance runner back in the day but my best was 4:59 for a single mile(shit I know) And I damn near died doing it. Mad respect.
An absolute Saint in the marathon world! He meant so much to long distance runners who are all left flabbergasted by the immense gift and talent he possesed at a baby age 👑🇰🇪
@@Tritiuminducedfusion And the second-place finisher -- who ran 2:04! -- was still nowhere in sight at the end of this video. Truly in a class of his own.
This will be the first human to run an official marathon in under 2 hrs. He will do it. He just needs to run 1 second faster every km..but it is the marathon guys. A second is a lifetime. So hard to break it
Many of us were wrong predicting Kiptum might break the course record but not the WR. And I thought Ruth C. would win the women's race. I am delighted I was wrong on both accounts. This also will bring top runners to Chicago. It is a very fast, flat course, but ideal weather conditions like today have proven rare. Cloudy, cool, light winds, & dry today & Kiptum took full advantage running a 61 second negative split! He ran miles 20 & 21 in 8:45! Truly awesome! Sifan & Ruth ran 1:05 the first half, ahead of the recent WR pace, & Sifan came back in 1:08, but Ruth could only manage 1:10. The Olympics next year will be awesome for both women & men!

What an amazing world record - as a German born, I can't help but laugh when I hear his name though, but the world will get used to hearing it, no doubt. I really hope there's going to be a race that's gonna have him and Kipchoge go against each other
I am so sorry to say that the awesome and great Sir Kelvin Kipturn and his coach have sadly died in a car accident. Sadly all the hard training and talent has gone with him. My prayers and thoughts are with his family, friends, and his admireous at this most difficult time. God bless and rest both your souls.
Kenya has produced 70 doping cases in recent years. That’s what’s insane. Today I read about another one. Ten years suspension. But the world records get much more attention than the massive doping problem.
