Picking my red/white VXR up on the 25th of this month. This video got me even that much more excited!! Thanks for the review, Kevin - have been binge watching most of your videos :-)
Can you film more of your trips this year. I love the reviews but, I really like watching the trip/journey videos and wish they were around 15mins long. Thank you for the great content
That's like asking, "What kind of shoes should I buy?" It all depends on what you intend to use it for; your level of athleticism; your typical riding conditions; etc.
Pretty much the same here....trailer won't be in until the 25th. Picking up PWC and trailer at the same time. Hopefully the weather will be decent enough for a break-in. We're out here in Colorado. We are you?
Gerbie71 R I’m in aurora Ontario but my cottage is up I’m wasaga, weathers going up next week to above 5 degrees! It’s so sad seeing my machines sitting in the garage staring at me!😂
Do u think Yamaha will eventually add the colour touchscreen to the gp1800R SVHO/HO and vx series? How effective is the security system on the current gp/vx series?
The key fob has been an effective deterrent for years (although a few owners were locked out of their own skis now and again). The touchscreen might remain a higher level feature to help keep costs low for more entry-level buyers. Frankly, it's unlikely we'll see the touchscreen coming to the GPR/VXR since they're more race-oriented.
@@watercraftjournal I wanted to believe it but after watching videos, I doubt it. It had 130 horses, weighed 663 lbs, and went 65+. I could easily jump it out of the water from a stop, and could submarine it in a turn. For comparison, the 2020 VX Deluxe has 5 fewer horses, weighs 123lbs more, with a top speed of 53. If you get a chance, ride a millennium edition and compare. Maybe it’s the carb and being a two stroke that made it so good.
Non-comparable models. Look at the difference in dimensions, not just weight. And I'm pretty sure you didn't GPS that top speed, but believed the "dream-o-meter" paddlewheel speedometer.
How does it take the chop? My dad wants something that rides smooth like the FX Cruiser, But I want something you can have a little more fun with like the VXR.
Trust me, the fx cruiser svho will actually give you a better time on the water than this, mines comfortable and practically out runs all of my buddy’s machines on the lake!
It depends on how you plan to use it. If you're a single guy looking for something to goof around on, go with the EXR. If you're a family man, or plan on more sporty/comfortable/touring riding, the VXR for sure.
HDscreenerX yeah, we acknowledged the sound error in the description. Our mic was set on the wrong setting and picked up everything around us instead of pointing straight. Live and learn.

That's awesome! Thanks for watching.
Same colour combo I bought too can’t wait
Just bought the red one today!

We've got quite a few planned.
I’ve owned all kinds and models of PWC and the 2019 VXR nano2 is by far the best. I have 200 hours and no issues. Power, comfort and lots of speed
That's awesome, Pat! Happy to hear it.
Are the VXRs painted or gel coat? How can you tell?
I am currently shopping around, was considering GP 1800R or the FX SVHO, what’s to your opinion the best watercraft ? I used to own a FZS 2015.

I’m up here in Ontario Canada, more than likely it will probably be in May before i hit the water

2019 VXR vs FX HO Cruiser. Which would you prefer for all around functionality (i.e, day on the water tubing, wakeboarding, fishing, etc)
These are DRAMATICALLY different vehicles both in design and intended use. For the uses you describe, I would fully go with the FX HO.
@@watercraftjournal Much appreciated. Love the videos.
Nice review but we need more info in the videos such as top speed range etc.
Haitham El Nfeshe what is “top speed range?” How far the ski will go at WOT on a tank of fuel?
This is the fastest stock NA jetski right?
Unconfirmed, yes.
Any chance of a 2019 VX Cruiser HO review?
Possibly. We have some future stuff we have to knock out first.
How did they shave the 30 lbs. off?
Exactly how we described; by switching from NanoXcel to NanoXcel2.
Looks like you didn’t like the contoured seat position. You’re semi-standing in all the shots.
I typically ride standing when possible. The seat's fine, especially for people shorter than 6'.
@@watercraftjournal I had a 2000 gtx millennium edition and sold it in 2010. Do any of the newer pwcs compare to its performance?
Performance? Like top speed and handling? Um, yeah. Like, all of them.

Hello! 0-50 0-60 mph? Please
You're gonna have to Google that one.
good stuff
No top speed?!
Yup. Listen to it again - or read the article here: watercraftjournal.com/junior-varsity-captain-2019-yamaha-vxr-waverunner/

Two totally different machines, both in weight and designed intent. I always recall the maxim, "don't expect a Corvette to serve as a Silverado."

@@gabecalandrino4320 is right. The FX SVHO is one of our absolute favorite machines for 2019.
FX HO Cruiser Is what I think we will go with. SVHO may be a little too pricey.
Brent Kearney still a great machine 👍🏼
Would you recommend a VXR or an EXR for a first Ski?
It depends on how you plan to use it. If you're a single guy looking for something to goof around on, go with the EXR. If you're a family man, or plan on more sporty/comfortable/touring riding, the VXR for sure.
Looks a lot like a lake new me. Hawassie in nc & ga
This was filmed at Lake Hartwell, GA.
Nice review Kevin,
Small advice: next time keep the mic closer to yourself cause that water "porn" sound is a bit distracting.
