A movement technique like Law's Shambles would have no reason to interact with it at all. His body swap and cutting powers are made by attacks with his sword, so Haki can block them, shambles is different, it's more likely that he just can't swap things that are underwater or touching a large body of water.

Sugar has arguably the strongest DF in the entire series. 1) Gives her eternal youth 2) Lets her turn people into toys by touching them 3) Gives her mind control over any toys she makes a contract with 4) Allows her to completely erase all memories of a person's existence in the minds of other people
Sugars Fruit is just so... weird. It follows no real theme. It happens to just pulls every power out of his a** it needs for the Plot of Dressrosa to function. Its so stupid
The StrawHat Grand fleet gets a cover story , detailing what each captain ( and Bellamy ) did after the arc , which of course are never shown in the anime . Here's what we were shown : 1. Cavendish : he continues to sail and be chased by fans , reminiscing about his life as the prince of the Bourgeois Kingdom , and how it reached it's since the girls of the kingdom refused to marry any other man than him 2. Bartolomeo and his crew dock on an island and try to sell Straw Hat merch and when the citizens refuse they burn the city down . We see that the city was flying Shanks flag ( which Bartolomeo burned ) , which means Barto declared war to shanks 3. Sai's part of the cover story shows him dealing with preparations for his wedding to Baby 5 and dealing with the woman he was going to marry before , and shows that he's going to the Reverie 4. Ideo : The XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance interrupts a fight between the Longleg and Longarm tribes which was a part of a thousand-year quarrel between the tribes. Afterwards at a deserted island, they use the undamaged ship parts to customize their new ship. After their new ship is completed, the XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance leaves the Longarm and Longleg crews behind. The group later decides to become a pirate crew and calls themselves the Ideo Pirates 5. Leo's part shows him and the Tontatta corps under him becoming pirates , helping with the reconstrunction of Dressrossa , getting a ship , and being assigned as body guards for the Riku royal family during the Reverie 6. Hajrudin part of cover story is the most brief : it introduces his crew and reveals that they worked for Buggy and were his S rank agents until they left him for Luffy , and since you're caught up I am going to say every giant in his crew appears in Big Mom's flashback 7. Orlumbus retuns to his kingdom to announce that he became a pirate to his king and that he will take the entire fleet with him , which the king has some problems with , but Orlumbus ultimately escapes 8. Bellamy is also included in this cover story . He decides to retire from piracy and becomes a dried , the last time we see him being while he works on a Jolly Roger that looks similar to that of the SH
I still vividly remember the Sabo moment in the manga because people were still arguing if he was even alive and at the end of the chapter it just showed Luffy crying and saying "I thought he was dead this while time!" And then we had to wait a week or two to confirm that it was Sabo

We saw ''emission'' paranecia DF which aren't affected by seastone, like Mr.3 wax power. After is emitted he can even create keys that open seaston handcuffs.
Yeah seastone, and even the sea itself, doesn't really negate DF powers, but rather takes away the DF user's "energy" like, touching sea-related things makes them very tired. This is the reason why the sea prism didn't affect Doffy's string, and also why Luffy's neck could still be stretched when he was dunked into the pool by Arlong. The only thing we know that can actually completely cancel DF powers are DF natural weaknesses (eg Croc's weakness to moisture, rubber vs lightning, etc) and Blackbeard's Yami-yami no mi.

Ohhh, I think you just misunderstood me. I didn't think he ate an awakened fruit, I just meant that his fruit is awakened. 34:34 Doffy's powers are more similar to Magellan and Mr 3's powers. We see Magellan use his poison Hydra to kill prisoners that are inside a sea prism stone cage, and Mr. 3 uses a wax key to unlock sea prism stone cages and handcuffs with no problems. Luffy's powers give his body the properties of rubber, but Doffy's powers do not give his body the properties of string and so his strings and Luffy's outstretched arm are not really comparable at all.
Yeah yeah ofc, but when it comes to, for example, Mr3's wax, its still wax. It's not a part of him, but it creates wax. Doffy's strings literally aren't strings. Not sure about you, but I haven't seen strings that can withstand an army 😂 My point was that if there is a link between Doflamingos innate power (or his haki) and his strings - the effect should go both ways. But regardless - I just think the birdcage was dumb. 🤷♂️
@@Koroto (most people don’t love the birdcage) technically steel wires are string it’s not a specific type of string it’s all string. Mr.3s wax was said to be stronger then steel I believe so it’s not normal either.

It's always been that direct physical contact with sea prism is the only thing that weakens devil fruit users. Objects can be imbued with haki, so if a devil fruit user imbued a stick with haki and then poked some sea prism stone, should it also go back and weaken them? What about flying slashes imbued with haki, or bullets, or arrows, that are shot and then hit sea prism stone? Either way I'm pretty sure his strings that he uses for the birdcage aren't even imbued with haki at all. I'm thinking that they work more on the principal that some types of strings that are known to be insanely strong in certain configurations like spider silk. Devil fruit powers consistently operate more on concepts and ideas of their power than their actual material's properties. I guess I'm just fishing for an explanation here for some of the birdcage, but I do agree that a lot of it is just convenience for the plot haha.
The fruit rebirth knowledge could still be known by only those high up in the government/scientists. Vegapunk obviously would know, and Caesar definitely does too with how he made the axolotl fruit spawn in punk hazard. Doffy could know from his connections from being a celestial dragon
My head cannon about DF users is that they can fall asleep and their abilities will still be active despite being unconscious bc they WANTED to be unconscious. If somebody knocked them out AGAINST THEIR WILL then it’ll deactivate.

Responding to around 35 min in: It’s just that the strings are so thin they’re sharp. And the sea prism doesn’t effect him when it touches the string cause he’s a paremecia not a logia. If it was smokers smoke or aces fire if you wrapped sea prism around it they would be weakened. Whereas dolphy makes the string and it’s not a part of him. Like Mr 3. He isn’t made of wax he makes wax so the wax isn’t a part of him. Lucy’s fruit always kind of seemed like a logia to me cause his body literally had the properties of rubber but now that we know it’s true properties it makes more sense Edit: ironic my phone autocorrected luffy’s name to Lucy given the context of the video. Maybe that’s how oda chose it. Anytime he typed luffy in text it autocorrected till he made it part of the story 😂😂

I think the thing with Doffy and his fruit is that when you get down to it Doffy is an incredibly complex villain that mirrors a real life psychopath. He’s extremely intelligent and extremely manipulative. And his fruit is awakened which means his strings are OP right? But also it’s just a string string fruit, with awakened probably stronger strings. I think where the power of the birdcage and puppeteering is concerned it’s more about his mind. He has a devious, evil and intelligent mind and everything he does is to manipulate or punish people, so he uses his strings to do that. I think if we stripped it all back it’s just a string fruit and if it was in the hands of someone less devious it would go nowhere near as hard (re. What’s his face in Water 7 with the rope fruit, kinda the same but used way different). I think he learned to maximise the uses of his fruit, learned puppeteering, learned the birdcage to torture and manipulate people. Which again makes him such a terrible, layered and terrifying villain.
I believe Toda purposely doesn't use Law's fruit powers because they are extremely powerful, Law can do anything with his powers, any fight would be over in seconds if he used the powers effectively

I think the being unconscious to deactivate the effects of the Hobby Hobby fruit revolves more around it being forced like a concussion or heart attack or murder as opposed to simply going to sleep.

I've been wondering if all the dragon stuff is a tribute from Oda to his mentor, Nobuhiro Watsuki. He's the author of Rurouni Kenshin, a super famous historic samurai manga in Japan, in which the protagonist's school of swordmanship is named after dragons. Reading Rurouni Kenshin, you can find a few One Piece easter eggs here and there in the panels, so it's clear mentor and student had a bond.
I think this implies that Doffy was just that person who carried around a few pieces of fruit on his person in case fruit users died nearby. It would explain how he has Ace's fruit at least. If it were me, I'd consider bringing a large barrel of fruit to the War of the Best considering how many fruit-users on each side went down.
For the pacing, I turned on 1.5x speed, it was pretty good and made the arc much more enjoyable, but yes, the pacing with Dressrosa(as well as most of the new world) is egregious. Also the way OP devil fruits are balanced is based off of "energy". It is possible that Fujitora has infinite range but extending his range likely exhausts him. Luffy or someone else could beat him by exhausting him and we've seen strategies like that work(Katakuri is the one I'm thinking of but even Law comments on his fruit consuming massive amounts of energy)
Additionally, the God Usopp moment is important because Usopp reverts to his extra cowardly ways after Robin is turned into a toy because he forgot she existed, thus losing all of the character development he would've gained during the Water 7/Enies Lobby arcs

Dressrosa is a divisive arc, mostly because it felt like a slog while it was released over time, and the anime stretching it out even further. that and the fact it was the longest arc at the time. But the arc is worth it for the birth of the legend of God Usopp alone. (I really like the tontattas, barty and doffy too :3) I guess the idea behind the birdcage is that while its big and super unbreakable...its also not easy to control as well as Doffy's other tricks, and is slow as hell. And keep in mind we have seen plenty of evidence that devil fruits are only as limited as what their user's definition of their power is. Doffy's power is 'String', so anything related to string he can do, even if it's as wacky as 'making whole objects using nthing but string'
As far as fujitara's gravity power go i always imagine that he creates a column of a strong gravity area which is stretching to space and pulling a random meteor from the space. So area he creates can stretch to space but its raidus must have a limit
Also yeah, I had previously commented about a certain arc in the anime having absolutely terrible pacing and it was Dressrosa, the anime just reused flashbacks and overused reaction shots, horrible watching experience.
You definitely forgot to mention the return of Koala the smiling slave girl from the Fisher Tiger backstory alongside Sabo with The Revolutionary Army...... I'm not judging you for watching the dubbed version of One Piece because I'm pretty much watching the whole series in English dub which I have to say the voice actors of the characters is phenomenal in my opinion especially Doflamingo. I like how the characters that is native to Dressrosa have a Spanish accent like Rebecca, Kyros, Violet and The King since the island is inspired by the landscape. Usopp really got on my nerves in this arc by being a the same scaredy cat from the pre-time skip when everybody was depending on him. ☆Luffy disguise reminded me of Master Roshi from Dragon Ball😂 haha!
Doffy's fruits power is that it creates string. Not super sharp string, not super hard string, not super tensile or durable string, normal, everyday, string. The birdcage, the string clones, the string bullets, all are a result of him combining his string with his armament haki for higher strength, sharpness, and durability and his awakening for telekinetic control. Doflamingo's Devil Fruit is one of the ultimate examples of Devil Fruits that start out pathetically weak but can become insanely OP with enough training, similar to how Luffy's devil fruit initially impaired him, but now that he has better control of it, he can pull off absurd attacks like Gear 3rd.
Honestly, the Birdcage being nigh unstoppable was kind of an issue for me too, at it really feels like a "suspend your disbelief" kind of thing. However, as far as what Doffy can do with his powers, as well as other people for that matter, I personally hold the belief that most (if not all) DF powers have incredible potential, but are limited by their user's imagination and creativity. Like if they can imagine their power doing something and push it hard enough, they can REALLY bend the power to do some inconceivable things. Like Kuma's repelling powers, for example. His power is pretty simple and limited in theory, but being creative has made his power pretty broken. Same goes for Luffy for that matter.
Oda comfirmed this actually, Devil Fruits don't get 'stronger', the user just becomes more imagintive in using them. A fruit is limited only by how the user defines that power. So, since Doffy's power is based around string, he can do whatever he wants as long as its using 'string'

The existence of a sky island in One Piece, makes Fujitora's power to bring meteors reasonable. He can drop anything on the sky island to the ground and with how fast it falls, can make the object burn and resemble a meteor.
Though I won't be mad event if One piece turns out to be the journey or friendships you made, I believe that Oda has explicitly stated that One piece is something tangible. And about people's expectations, yeah I highly doubt anything will ever be able to live up to it 😅

I don't really get how the dub makes pacing faster. If you're still watching anime and not caught up yet, I recommend the site One Pace. And yeah, Dressrosa is the reason why a ton of OP fans recommend manga. It might be partly Oda to blame, but Toei definitely exacerbated the issue. I've heard they were padding out the anime because A) they were getting quite close to the manga with the slow down in pace Oda had post-timeskip, as in Oda actually decided to have more break weeks and a tad less ridiculous schedule and stuff. and B) they were allegedly cutting corners ever since thriller bark (and that's why you get the "5 frames instead of 3" thing, instead of inserting large fillers they instead decided to stretch the pacing, and now they can just reuse frames which saves them money) for Wano-kuni, a Japan-based arc, which also explains the animation glow up in the Wano arc. I forgot where I read these points from though, so take them with a grain of salt.
As it will be mentioned in a later arc, it is now a fact that Law cannot move people with his powers if their haki is too strong. So, the reason 2hy he didn't move Dofi around is because he couldn't.
@@Koroto true. The only explanation I can come up with without resulting in bs is that if the opponent is conscious about it it won't work. In that moment Dofi was not paying attention. Regardless, Dressrosa is my favorite arc in One Piece to this point. Watching it as it aired, yeah there were slow moments (there is much worse later on in other arcs) but the highs of Dressrosa combined with sakuga fights full of adrenaline was amazing. Regarding Law, in a later arc he say that he would have moved blank if he could / their haki wasn't so strong. So, maybe Dofi being caught by surprise is the point? I'm just grasping straws but in the end of the day.... Doesn't really matter. Still fantastic arc.
In case you are wondering about why Law didn't use his fruit to force the change of heart in Doflamingo or changed Doflamingo's position, the answer is Haki. Namely, it becomes increasingly harder to transport someone who has a stronger haki and is not cooperating with you. Doflamingo may not be truly that overpowered, but he had a strong haki in all fronts as well as Conqueror Haki, stronger than Law on all said fronts. Law downright couldn't use his powers on Doflamingo

Since you're caught up you know that we don't know how fruit reincarnate for sure but the theory that I subscribe to is that every fruit has its own form so like that 1 banana shaped fruit in enies lobby that was eaten by A CP9 member could only reincarnate into a banana fruit.
Law wouldn't put Doffy above the water because Doffy can fly with his strings, it wouldn't do much. And swapping the hearts/souls was a thing Law did on people running away and while he wasn't in any danger, it's not unreasonable to assume that it's not easily done in combat (and against an admiral and Doffy at that), especially against Doffy who knows Law's power very well, and has dodged or blocked the vast majority of attacks Law has made
and as far as the indestructible strings of the birdcage. Doffy is just powerful, we've literally only seen Gear 4 Luffy break his strings, and remember in marineford he used his strings on Diamond Jozu, a commander of Whitebeard, and Jozu couldn't break those strings. the barrier does do a lot against the strings, it's just that it can be moved, whereas it otherwise is still unbreakable to the strings.
this arc was super slow in the manga to but its much faster then the anime, i believe the way fujitora's power works is he can pull from above him and use small changes in the gravity to move it slightly so i dont think he could use it on someone like that. one thing that would be really cool is to see one of the tangerines on the sunny change into a devil fruit after an arc maybe wano???? this is just speculation no idea if it will happen or not. next large arc has some awesome fights

The StrawHat Grand fleet gets a cover story , detailing what each captain ( and Bellamy ) did after the arc , which of course are never shown in the anime . Here's what we were shown :
1. Cavendish : he continues to sail and be chased by fans , reminiscing about his life as the prince of the Bourgeois Kingdom , and how it reached it's since the girls of the kingdom refused to marry any other man than him
2. Bartolomeo and his crew dock on an island and try to sell Straw Hat merch and when the citizens refuse they burn the city down . We see that the city was flying Shanks flag ( which Bartolomeo burned ) , which means Barto declared war to shanks
3. Sai's part of the cover story shows him dealing with preparations for his wedding to Baby 5 and dealing with the woman he was going to marry before , and shows that he's going to the Reverie
4. Ideo : The XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance interrupts a fight between the Longleg and Longarm tribes which was a part of a thousand-year quarrel between the tribes. Afterwards at a deserted island, they use the undamaged ship parts to customize their new ship. After their new ship is completed, the XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance leaves the Longarm and Longleg crews behind. The group later decides to become a pirate crew and calls themselves the Ideo Pirates
5. Leo's part shows him and the Tontatta corps under him becoming pirates , helping with the reconstrunction of Dressrossa , getting a ship , and being assigned as body guards for the Riku royal family during the Reverie
6. Hajrudin part of cover story is the most brief : it introduces his crew and reveals that they worked for Buggy and were his S rank agents until they left him for Luffy , and since you're caught up I am going to say every giant in his crew appears in Big Mom's flashback
7. Orlumbus retuns to his kingdom to announce that he became a pirate to his king and that he will take the entire fleet with him , which the king has some problems with , but Orlumbus ultimately escapes
8. Bellamy is also included in this cover story . He decides to retire from piracy and becomes a dried , the last time we see him being while he works on a Jolly Roger that looks similar to that of the SH

I still vividly remember the Sabo moment in the manga because people were still arguing if he was even alive and at the end of the chapter it just showed Luffy crying and saying "I thought he was dead this while time!" And then we had to wait a week or two to confirm that it was Sabo

We saw ''emission'' paranecia DF which aren't affected by seastone, like Mr.3 wax power. After is emitted he can even create keys that open seaston handcuffs.
Yeah seastone, and even the sea itself, doesn't really negate DF powers, but rather takes away the DF user's "energy" like, touching sea-related things makes them very tired. This is the reason why the sea prism didn't affect Doffy's string, and also why Luffy's neck could still be stretched when he was dunked into the pool by Arlong. The only thing we know that can actually completely cancel DF powers are DF natural weaknesses (eg Croc's weakness to moisture, rubber vs lightning, etc) and Blackbeard's Yami-yami no mi.

A book like that existing requires that people are aware that fruits can reincarnate, or so I always interpreted it

We see Magellan use his poison Hydra to kill prisoners that are inside a sea prism stone cage, and Mr. 3 uses a wax key to unlock sea prism stone cages and handcuffs with no problems. Luffy's powers give his body the properties of rubber, but Doffy's powers do not give his body the properties of string and so his strings and Luffy's outstretched arm are not really comparable at all.

@@Koroto (most people don’t love the birdcage) technically steel wires are string it’s not a specific type of string it’s all string. Mr.3s wax was said to be stronger then steel I believe so it’s not normal either.

@@Koroto The effect should go both ways based on what? Have we ever seen an effect ever go both ways like that before? It's always been that direct physical contact with sea prism is the only thing that weakens devil fruit users.
Objects can be imbued with haki, so if a devil fruit user imbued a stick with haki and then poked some sea prism stone, should it also go back and weaken them? What about flying slashes imbued with haki, or bullets, or arrows, that are shot and then hit sea prism stone?
Either way I'm pretty sure his strings that he uses for the birdcage aren't even imbued with haki at all. I'm thinking that they work more on the principal that some types of strings that are known to be insanely strong in certain configurations like spider silk. Devil fruit powers consistently operate more on concepts and ideas of their power than their actual material's properties.
I guess I'm just fishing for an explanation here for some of the birdcage, but I do agree that a lot of it is just convenience for the plot haha.

Responding to around 35 min in: It’s just that the strings are so thin they’re sharp. And the sea prism doesn’t effect him when it touches the string cause he’s a paremecia not a logia. If it was smokers smoke or aces fire if you wrapped sea prism around it they would be weakened. Whereas dolphy makes the string and it’s not a part of him. Like Mr 3. He isn’t made of wax he makes wax so the wax isn’t a part of him. Lucy’s fruit always kind of seemed like a logia to me cause his body literally had the properties of rubber but now that we know it’s true properties it makes more sense

I think the thing with Doffy and his fruit is that when you get down to it Doffy is an incredibly complex villain that mirrors a real life psychopath. He’s extremely intelligent and extremely manipulative. And his fruit is awakened which means his strings are OP right? But also it’s just a string string fruit, with awakened probably stronger strings. I think where the power of the birdcage and puppeteering is concerned it’s more about his mind. He has a devious, evil and intelligent mind and everything he does is to manipulate or punish people, so he uses his strings to do that. I think if we stripped it all back it’s just a string fruit and if it was in the hands of someone less devious it would go nowhere near as hard (re. What’s his face in Water 7 with the rope fruit, kinda the same but used way different). I think he learned to maximise the uses of his fruit, learned puppeteering, learned the birdcage to torture and manipulate people. Which again makes him such a terrible, layered and terrifying villain.
I believe Toda purposely doesn't use Law's fruit powers because they are extremely powerful, Law can do anything with his powers, any fight would be over in seconds if he used the powers effectively

I've been wondering if all the dragon stuff is a tribute from Oda to his mentor, Nobuhiro Watsuki. He's the author of Rurouni Kenshin, a super famous historic samurai manga in Japan, in which the protagonist's school of swordmanship is named after dragons. Reading Rurouni Kenshin, you can find a few One Piece easter eggs here and there in the panels, so it's clear mentor and student had a bond.

I think this implies that Doffy was just that person who carried around a few pieces of fruit on his person in case fruit users died nearby. It would explain how he has Ace's fruit at least. If it were me, I'd consider bringing a large barrel of fruit to the War of the Best considering how many fruit-users on each side went down.

For the pacing, I turned on 1.5x speed, it was pretty good and made the arc much more enjoyable, but yes, the pacing with Dressrosa(as well as most of the new world) is egregious.
Also the way OP devil fruits are balanced is based off of "energy". It is possible that Fujitora has infinite range but extending his range likely exhausts him. Luffy or someone else could beat him by exhausting him and we've seen strategies like that work(Katakuri is the one I'm thinking of but even Law comments on his fruit consuming massive amounts of energy)
Additionally, the God Usopp moment is important because Usopp reverts to his extra cowardly ways after Robin is turned into a toy because he forgot she existed, thus losing all of the character development he would've gained during the Water 7/Enies Lobby arcs

Dressrosa is a divisive arc, mostly because it felt like a slog while it was released over time, and the anime stretching it out even further. that and the fact it was the longest arc at the time.
But the arc is worth it for the birth of the legend of God Usopp alone.

I guess the idea behind the birdcage is that while its big and super unbreakable...its also not easy to control as well as Doffy's other tricks, and is slow as hell. And keep in mind we have seen plenty of evidence that devil fruits are only as limited as what their user's definition of their power is. Doffy's power is 'String', so anything related to string he can do, even if it's as wacky as 'making whole objects using nthing but string'

As far as fujitara's gravity power go i always imagine that he creates a column of a strong gravity area which is stretching to space and pulling a random meteor from the space. So area he creates can stretch to space but its raidus must have a limit
Also yeah, I had previously commented about a certain arc in the anime having absolutely terrible pacing and it was Dressrosa, the anime just reused flashbacks and overused reaction shots, horrible watching experience.
You definitely forgot to mention the return of Koala the smiling slave girl from the Fisher Tiger backstory alongside Sabo with The Revolutionary Army...... I'm not judging you for watching the dubbed version of One Piece because I'm pretty much watching the whole series in English dub which I have to say the voice actors of the characters is phenomenal in my opinion especially Doflamingo. I like how the characters that is native to Dressrosa have a Spanish accent like Rebecca, Kyros, Violet and The King since the island is inspired by the landscape. Usopp really got on my nerves in this arc by being a the same scaredy cat from the pre-time skip when everybody was depending on him.

Doffy's fruits power is that it creates string. Not super sharp string, not super hard string, not super tensile or durable string, normal, everyday, string. The birdcage, the string clones, the string bullets, all are a result of him combining his string with his armament haki for higher strength, sharpness, and durability and his awakening for telekinetic control. Doflamingo's Devil Fruit is one of the ultimate examples of Devil Fruits that start out pathetically weak but can become insanely OP with enough training, similar to how Luffy's devil fruit initially impaired him, but now that he has better control of it, he can pull off absurd attacks like Gear 3rd.
Honestly, the Birdcage being nigh unstoppable was kind of an issue for me too, at it really feels like a "suspend your disbelief" kind of thing. However, as far as what Doffy can do with his powers, as well as other people for that matter, I personally hold the belief that most (if not all) DF powers have incredible potential, but are limited by their user's imagination and creativity. Like if they can imagine their power doing something and push it hard enough, they can REALLY bend the power to do some inconceivable things. Like Kuma's repelling powers, for example. His power is pretty simple and limited in theory, but being creative has made his power pretty broken. Same goes for Luffy for that matter.
Oda comfirmed this actually, Devil Fruits don't get 'stronger', the user just becomes more imagintive in using them. A fruit is limited only by how the user defines that power. So, since Doffy's power is based around string, he can do whatever he wants as long as its using 'string'
About Law ability: if the enemy haki is strong he can't ''move'' him without the target accord. Don't forget that armament haki negate DF powers.

The existence of a sky island in One Piece, makes Fujitora's power to bring meteors reasonable. He can drop anything on the sky island to the ground and with how fast it falls, can make the object burn and resemble a meteor.

Though I won't be mad event if One piece turns out to be the journey or friendships you made, I believe that Oda has explicitly stated that One piece is something tangible.

Oda has stated in an interview that the one piece is a physical object, and not something like "the friends me made along the way".
I don't really get how the dub makes pacing faster. If you're still watching anime and not caught up yet, I recommend the site One Pace. And yeah, Dressrosa is the reason why a ton of OP fans recommend manga. It might be partly Oda to blame, but Toei definitely exacerbated the issue. I've heard they were padding out the anime because A) they were getting quite close to the manga with the slow down in pace Oda had post-timeskip, as in Oda actually decided to have more break weeks and a tad less ridiculous schedule and stuff. and B) they were allegedly cutting corners ever since thriller bark (and that's why you get the "5 frames instead of 3" thing, instead of inserting large fillers they instead decided to stretch the pacing, and now they can just reuse frames which saves them money) for Wano-kuni, a Japan-based arc, which also explains the animation glow up in the Wano arc. I forgot where I read these points from though, so take them with a grain of salt.

@@Koroto true. The only explanation I can come up with without resulting in bs is that if the opponent is conscious about it it won't work. In that moment Dofi was not paying attention. Regardless, Dressrosa is my favorite arc in One Piece to this point. Watching it as it aired, yeah there were slow moments (there is much worse later on in other arcs) but the highs of Dressrosa combined with sakuga fights full of adrenaline was amazing.
Regarding Law, in a later arc he say that he would have moved blank if he could / their haki wasn't so strong. So, maybe Dofi being caught by surprise is the point? I'm just grasping straws but in the end of the day.... Doesn't really matter. Still fantastic arc.

In case you are wondering about why Law didn't use his fruit to force the change of heart in Doflamingo or changed Doflamingo's position, the answer is Haki. Namely, it becomes increasingly harder to transport someone who has a stronger haki and is not cooperating with you.
Doflamingo may not be truly that overpowered, but he had a strong haki in all fronts as well as Conqueror Haki, stronger than Law on all said fronts.

Pica having a funny voice is in the manga. As soon as I read that page where it was first mentioned, I just had to turn on the anime to hear how it was handled and I was not disappointed.
I feel like a much better to make the birdcage more believable is maybe have it that bartelomeo is the only one who can keep it at bay but he can only use that large of a barrier for so long.
Law moving Doffy just means that he got stronger in the battle and also that Doffy isn't unbeatable and that much stronger than Law.

Since you're caught up you know that we don't know how fruit reincarnate for sure but the theory that I subscribe to is that every fruit has its own form so like that 1 banana shaped fruit in enies lobby that was eaten by A CP9 member could only reincarnate into a banana fruit.

Law wouldn't put Doffy above the water because Doffy can fly with his strings, it wouldn't do much. And swapping the hearts/souls was a thing Law did on people running away and while he wasn't in any danger, it's not unreasonable to assume that it's not easily done in combat (and against an admiral and Doffy at that), especially against Doffy who knows Law's power very well, and has dodged or blocked the vast majority of attacks Law has made
and as far as the indestructible strings of the birdcage. Doffy is just powerful, we've literally only seen Gear 4 Luffy break his strings, and remember in marineford he used his strings on Diamond Jozu, a commander of Whitebeard, and Jozu couldn't break those strings. the barrier does do a lot against the strings, it's just that it can be moved, whereas it otherwise is still unbreakable to the strings.

this arc was super slow in the manga to but its much faster then the anime, i believe the way fujitora's power works is he can pull from above him and use small changes in the gravity to move it slightly so i dont think he could use it on someone like that. one thing that would be really cool is to see one of the tangerines on the sunny change into a devil fruit after an arc maybe wano???? this is just speculation no idea if it will happen or not. next large arc has some awesome fights
