I was kind of hoping they would have Starks take the FTW belt from Jericho.
Starks has history with the FTW belt, history with Jericho, previously being sucked into the "Jericho Vortex." His tag partner Big Bill is right there perfectly placed to turn on Jericho at Starks request... it would all line up quite nicely.
No lol that title works with Jericho bc of his character currently. But it's useless on anyone else.

I really like Starks. Unfortunately for him I feel like Tony has a habit of going all in on wrestlers but then gets distracted by other wrestlers at other companies. This leads to him hiring those new guys that ultimately leads to him forgetting who he was currently building.
He is just a terrible booker.

I like Starks as a talent. One of my favorite wrestlers. Has Ricky Starks spoken to Tony Khan? Has he made clear whether or not he wants to renew his contract with AEW? The perception seems to be that Ricky Starks wants to be in WWE. I think Starks s not being used creatively because due to lack of communication.

Ricky Starks should be one of the biggest names in AEW, he has so much talent, but much like Wardlow and Hobbs, he continues to get shit booked. He also needs to stay away from the Gravity Well that is Jericho and his waistline, I mean Vortex. Starks is so much better than the likes of Moxley, Burger Kingston, and "Super" Pockets.

Look I'm a AEW fan, but all do respect to everyone Ricky Starks needs to go to WWE. Like wasn't it almost a year ago he roasted MJ fuckin F and left him speechless. He's a blue chip wrestler, there are few wrestlers who are strong in multiple areas or every area. And He's strong in those areas, not just on the mic, in the ring, character, but he just carries himself as main eventer. As I said as a AEW fan all be honest, most wrestlers in the company are strong all around, but not as many of them have that Main Event presence as many die hard fans likes to admit.
Except for the obvious Michael Jackson-esque pose, I really like Ricky Starks as a wrestler. The problem is that he's too good for a company that has zero clue how to create stars. Part of the problem is that there's no training program in AEW. They pluck guys off the Indies or pick up old cast offs from WWE and throw them on TV and if you didn't go to a proper wrestling school and get serious training or aren't motivated to learn, you probably don't know what you're doing. That was one of Punk's beefs, and rightly so. But if Ricky wants to be a big star in wrestling instead of a big fish in a small pond that is under-utilized, he has to go to WWE. Maybe he has to spend a year in NXT, but at least his career trajectory would be going in the right direction. And I say that as someone who hated WWE for years. Having said that, they seem to be getting their act together under Paul Levesque and Ricky would benefit from going there, because he's very talented and if he went to NXT, a feud with a vastly improved heel Lexis King could be really interesting.

After Punk gets through his Drew and Seth singles matches, I hope he dips down to the tag division to mentor younger guys (Ricky, if he makes his way over to WWE by then). It would help preserve him physically, kind if like how Randy is mostly doing triple threats, 4-ways, and tag matches to reduce the wear and tear.
Ricky been killing it since remember seeing him in the indies, then he got to the NWA winning that TV and killed it there so I knew In AEW he would shine, but AEW isn’t the right platform for him! Maybe because they want to rotate their roster that makes everyone appear a while and then gone again. They don't separate the roster into a raw-sd like, so I guess the bloatedness is really imminent. Maybe even the schedule outside of AEW as well as some are not actually exclusive to them.
Has anybody noticed that Starks has a considerable lack of strength for a guy his size? Like the dude's a lot more buff than wrestlers like Adam Cole but those guys can lift people up no problem while Starks seriously struggles carrying guys that are barely 200 lbs. It limits his moveset and makes him look weak. Feels like that really dampens his potential to be top star.
