    This video was so easy to follow. Love the way you made the heel and didn't have a hole on the end of the toe. I took two days to make one sock but have to do other things so it wasn't constant. Use regular yarn and a fuzzy yarn and use the e-wrap for all the stitches. First one came out great. Now working on the mate. Thank you Tuteate.

    I tried using what I know about hand knitting socks and used my martha Stewart loom. I ended up using stitch holders, and resizing the loom for the gusset. Then I did the toe in two parts, then sewing it all together. This method is so much easier!

    Thank you for this. I learnt a lot in a video that is not too long but explained it all. Loved the change of colours. But the most satisfying part was the toe part. In most tutorials all the stitches are gathered together in one go. Here you show a nice way of finishing it properly. It looks very professional. I will definitwly apply your method.

    I just wanted to say thank you for the great tutorials! I never got the hang of knitting or crocheting but the loom makes it easy. I'm new to looming and find all the reading and abbreviations hard to follow but your videos make it easy by getting right to the point! I love them! I've done the slouchy beanie hat with your guidance and got it done right the first time and loved it so much i've made 3 so far. Next will be the fingerless mittens and socks. Love your work, please keep making these great videos :) waiting for your hooded cowl tutorial in english to be uploaded later today. Thank you thank you thank you :)

  • @jenniferrieckman4289
    @jenniferrieckman4289 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you I do believe I can do that. Your video was extremely helpful. Thank you so much. I love how you made it so I wouldn't need extra knitting needles to do the toe part. For cuff to toe socks. I was going to attempt the toe up socks starting with a Kitchener stitch or something like that. But yours actually looks much easier. I may eventually try toe up Kitchener (I hope I am spelling and using the correct term.) But I am gonna try yours first. Love it. And it looked like you were using regular yarn not sock yarn. I don't have sock yarn so I am really happy for that as well. Thank you, thank you.

    Hi 123kaelee123 ! (we answer you here, because it seem we cannot reply your comment) Yes, you could maybe knit a little looser. You could also try avoiding to make the brim (the folded part is maybe too tight to be higher on the leg...). Hope this helps!

    I just finished my first sock. Great video!! This was the first thing I have ever knit, so I am very impressed :) I was wondering though, should this fit an adult? Mine fit my 9yr old (size 3 shoes) perfectly. I coulod not get the sock on over my heel :( It was just too tight to fit on me. Could I have knit it too tight? I`d really love a pair for myself! Any suggestions welcome :)

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ashley Keddy hi! How thick is your yarn? We used a yarn for knitting needles of 6mm-7mm and the result fit an adult. If the cuff is too tight, maybe you could try working it in elastic stitch (1knit - 1 purl) as we did for this hat: th-cam.com/video/rPFztd0143M/w-d-xo.html

    HOLA... Love all of your videos that use knitting looms. They are very well done. Thank you so much keep them coming. I want to make these socks. How do I figure out what size to make them ( I have family from the age of 10 years old to 39 years old. Help please. Thank you again....Tunie from Kansas, USA

    Tuteate, your tutorial is great. Socks on a loom always look like they'd be difficult, but after watching your video, it gave me great confidence. I'm not a fan of the flat stitch though, so I will be trying different things with each pair that I make, to see which techniques work best for me.
    Regarding the looseness of the heel, can it be done where you wrap the peg 3 times then pull the bottom loop over the upper 2 loops? I use this on hats I make and it makes it less 'holey'. I've not tried it yet on bits where there is no full round, but I wonder if anyone else has had success with it?

      Julie Vernon hi! I think you must be right, the problem may be solved by working the sides of the heel in the way you said :) Thank you so much for your tip (let's see if anybody in this room has tried this)

      Once I've finished the pair I'm working on (it's taking me ages, with it being my first ever pair lol), if no one else has tried it and posted their results, I'll try it on the next pair and let you know how it goes.

      Tuteate I thought I'd update you on how I've got on with the socks. I made bed socks for my Grandad for Christmas (or he can wear them as slipper socks if he wishes). I used a loom that has extra pegs which I bought from an online store.
      With the extra pegs giving a smaller gauge, it allowed for a tighter stitch on the heel. They came out pretty good for a beginner. The first pair I started, I was not happy with because of the heel being loosely stitched, so I'm going to restart it, luckily I had only done about three quarters of the first sock.

      Trying to figure out how to do this with no holes on the sides when finishing heel. Have you figured it out. I like this heel because easy to make but The holes in the end disappoint me..so I'm not going to continue with this heel unless there is some solution. Thanks.

    do you think this could easily be made into a christmas stocking? of course, as long as i make the sock itself longer. should i use thicker yarn? thanks

    I recently made a sock (as in 1/2 of the pair) after watching your video tutorial, which was great by the way. It was easy to follow but, unfortunately my heal and toe were a bit more lose then I would of liked. I think it's because I didn't wrap and knit like you showed but instead e-wrapped and then knitted. I am off to make the other half of this pair and I will wrap and knit like you showed and see if it makes a difference. They're just going to be house socks so no harm in mismatching.

      Jack Woosley hi! I think you didn't do anything wrong, our result is more loose on the heal and toe too. Maybe, on the "corners", instead of knitting the pegs with 2 loops pulling the 2 loops at the same time, maybe we should first knit 1 and then the other. Not sure... We should find a better way. Please let us know if you improve it, ok? :)
