1984 gründeten sie sich als Lucifer´s Heritage, 1987 nannten sie sich in Blind Guardian und von da an begann ihr Aufstieg zu einer der erfolgreichsten Metal-Bands Deutschlands. Noch heute headlinen sie die größten Metal-Festivals mit ihrem von Fantasie-Literatur (insbesondere „Der Herr der Ringe“) inspirierten, eingängigen Sound.
Frontmann der Krefelder Band ist Hansi Kürsch, dessen kraftvoll-melodischer, einzigartiger Gesang zu den wichtigsten Erkennungsmerkmalen der Gruppe zählt. Wenn er Klassiker wie ‚The Bards Song - In The Forest‘, ‚Mirror Mirror‘ oder ‚Valhalla‘ anstimmt, erheben sich tausende von Fan-Stimmen, um gemeinsam mit ihm die Zeilen zu singen.

Several Days / a week before the whole set is open for the public, they give single songs as 'teaser' :) (although makes no real sense to me because Rockpalast is part of german public tv)

I like Frederik, he’s very good, but Thomen played it the old songs better. His fills were faster and felt more aggressive.
