some people may think it's a waste of money since it's a subtle difference but that's what i personally like about korean/japanese hair salons, they make these subtle changes (cut and perm) that are more catered to framing the face or add movement to the hair since for most asian hair (dark and straight) it's really hard to make your hair appear lively without coloring your hair

    • @qytj1182

As someone who has fine straight hair that will hold curls for 10 minutes, can't use product because it weighs it down, have to wash it everyday because the smallest amount of grease flattens my hair even more, I want to get this done! Her hair looks beautiful so much fuller at the roots and I bet her hair has movement now 😀

If you will put dry shampoo on your hair while it’s clean, that will help a lot with the greasiness.

Being a black girl and gottem many relaxers (some ppl call them perms also, just depends on where your from). I was freaking out over her hair getting washed first cause relaxers you want non clean hair...or you burn your scalp.
But i was like "wait wait...its in anothwr country, they know what they are doing " an dam that looks lovly.

I think they use different chemicals....a perm and a relaxer are different chemicals that work differently.....if you simply smooth on a perm as you would a relaxer you wouldn't get the same look, and vice versa. I think Asian perms use yet another technology, hence you can shampoo it.

    • @eclecticemma

maybe the subtlety of the perm is discussed with the stylist beforehand so if you wbt more volume you can request it

    • @anniemartinNJ

But then she'd have to blow dry her hair every single day, so maybe this is more convenient and less maintenance for her.

This is IF she knows how to blowdry or style her own hair. Many times most women don’t know how to style their hair and/or over/fry it by excessively using hot tools. A perm helps with less hot tools and less maintenance

A hair powder will give you much more volume and it super easy to apply, you just sprinkle it on top of your hair after styling (plus it absorbs oils too and doesn't have that crunchiness of hairspray).

Lovely girl, and cute hair - thanks for this video - but this perm and haircut is not flattering. She seems uncomfortable with it as well, as does the stylist. She looked better before. I agree her hair only looked flat because it needed a a gentle shampooing and blow dry. However, some guides advise not washing your hair for 24 hours before a perm in order to have oils which protect your hair. But thankfully hair always grows out and we learn from our experiments especially when we are young!

I've been giving perms for 15 years ... what on earth are they doing? GEL on freshly permed hair? ... You're not even supposed to wash for 3 days, let alone throw products like gel in it.... For those results she could have just used dry shampoo, lol.
