Dr Bruce.... I live just below st Francis county in Madison county and I have tons of this rock you speak of and I know right where i got it all too! Yes there are prehistoric volcanos here and lots of prehistoric lave( per National Geographic ). So if there were diamonds here, where would I look to find them? Would they be inside these green flecked rocks? Or in a cave? Or where do I look? P.s. I found all that stone you speak of on my creek bank right after one of the floods this spring. It caught my eye because there was lots of it and I had never seen it before.
Great information Doc...I rockhound from Viburnum through Washington County & St Genevieve County. Have found many museum quality samples through the years. There are many Mysteries as well in Missouri I've stumbled upon, many best kept, secrets

Hello sir I have some property located in a mining district. This unique landscape sits on a mineralized hydrothermal. Epithermal deposits. I have found many different igneous rocks. I’m not a geologist but love prospecting. Do you suppose kimberlite do to iron content could be well disguised by discoloring? Can a hydrothermal deposit be associated with a kimberlite? Do you do fire assays? I would love to somehow share photos of some discoveries made prospecting. Very very interesting video. Thank you. If you can help thank you.
I found a round river rock north of Lake of the OZarks , it's flat & looks to be a digging tool ( hoe ) or a scraper , or grinding stone , only one spot is not rounded & looks to be slighty chipped from using as a hoe ( not a worked stone ) . What got my eye , it looks nothing like the rock we have here . No River rocks , they are all sharp & blocky . It looks like it might be igneous , fine grain & looks mostly a deep blue green , like a deep sky blue . We have arrow heads all over , this is a first for me . Any idea what kind of rock it could be ?? Was thinking it could be from S E , Mo . Johnson Shut ins area ?? It fits in your hand very easy , could be a multi tool ?? THANKs
Where could I find Crystal's or diamonds in Missouri? I'm a fellow Missourian and I'm really into rockhounding. I'd love to look for some amazing pieces

sounds like it could be a glacial erratic.
Could that be why I found bluish green crystals in Washington county?
