If you want court/legal drama, you NEED to see 12 Angry Men, from 1957. Absolutely amazing story, amazing cast, and is in mamy ways a benchmark against which other movies are measured.

My all-time favorite Tom Cruise movie definitely in the top 50 movies of all time. Tom Cruise gave an interview about Jack Nicholson saying he came in for the first reading. Everybody was sloppy and all over the place. Jack came in and delivered all of his lines perfectly in character He stood, smiled and said children that's how it's done. Turned around and walked out. He said I learned to be an actor that day. Jack made everybody lift their game. That's why this movie was so good.

A Time To Kill- Matthew McConaghay and Samual L Jackson (1996). Another Oscar winning movie courtroom themed and also will touch on other important topics. J/A again confident both of you would enjoy that movie from beginning to end. It’s a 90s classic. Love to see you react to it! Thanks for this great reaction.

After many years of watching, that statement while it sounds great, it is a lie. As stated earlier in the film, having loyalty to the Core is the most important thing even above God, to Marines. Hence, they are NOT "supposed to fight for people who couldn't fight for themselves". They are supposed to follow commands to reach an objective or die in the process of completion of the 'mission' at ALL costs. (even death) Marines or any soldier, for that matter, are NOT allowed to question or oppose a direct command, even if it is immoral, unethical, or criminal.
@silverlobo2135 Not since Nuremberg. The Code of Military Justice states clearly that no soldier is to follow an order that violates international, federal, state, or even municipal law, and if they do, they’ll be held responsible not only in civilian courts, but in military court as well. The military is not above the law, nor should it be.
Jack actually got time to spend time with a high level officer and noticed they were Gods of their bases and Jack took that into the movie. Jack lost his damn mind in the courtroom and as a Marine he played the role to perfection. Glad you all liked it.
I was in the Marine Corps almost twenty years ago. Still got a few friends that went lifer. One friend has access to all the reports military police file and many court filings. Those high ranking Officers and many SSNCOs get away with things that would get them looked up for a very, very long time on the civilian world. Assualt, DUI, hard drugs, r*pe, even confirmed inc*st and other people losing their lives under questionable circumstances. The Lifers cover for each other and then when they finally have to EAS they become private contractors for the government.
I am a retired U S Marine and I was there when filming was happening This is a very personal movie for me and I am very happy you guys enjoyes and appricated it so much Warms my heart Thank you!
The guy that was Tom's lawyer friend is Kevin Pollak. He's been in a bunch of movies and he is also a comedian. I saw him live once. One of the best stand-ups I have ever seen.
Most recently, he played a supporting character in the streaming series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He does the best William Shatner imitation ever, and he has some great stories about making this movie -- to which, he said, he owes his acting career -- that he shared on interviews you can find on TH-cam. Such a funny guy, I wish I'd seen him do standup.
@joethomas1775 I also loved him in "The Whole Nine Yards" & its sequel, "The Whole Ten Yards". And his Shatner impersonation is so great.. once seen, never forgotten. 💙💫
Great movie choice. Another great Tom Cruise film I know both of you guys would love is "Jerry Maguire". "Rain Man" is another 80's film which stars Dustin Hoffman in his Oscar winning performance that shows Tom Cruise's gowth as a serious actor.
The 1990s was the GOLDEN era of great films. Literally all of the best movies of the past 50 years seem to have been filmed in the 1990s (Shawshank Redemption, Forest Gump, etc.). Thanks for another great reaction to one of my all time favorite films.
Tom Cruise's character goes through such a huge arc in this movie, from being a very talented but flippant lawyer to a serious one at the end. I would recommend "Rain Man" to you guys, like a few others have already done. Without giving away too much, I'd say that you will see an equally good performance by Cruise in that movie as well.
YES, YES!! Rainman for next Tom Cruise movie..and performance is eclipsed by Dustin Hoffman!! Next Jack Nicholson movie should be "As Good As It Gets."
Yes. Kendrick was on The Lost Boys. His name is Keifer Sutherland. He also was the leading man on one of my all-time favorite TV shows: "24". He was an agent who worked for CTU (counterterrorism unit) on that show! It was an absolutely marvelous show!
I was stationed in South Korea and saw this in a base theater where every person in it was military. The synchronized "oohs and aahs" for every scene with a revelation was great. The military audience made this already great movie even better.
When this movie first came out, I remember Tom Cruise saying he had to be really ready for that courtroom scene because he knew Jack Nicholson was going to be bringing it. Great movie! I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it. Thanks for reacting!
Fun fact: when Kaffey does the impression of Colonel Jessup ("He eats breakfast 300 yard from 4,000 Cubans who are trying to kill him"), that was completely improvised by Cruise and the laughing by Moore and Pollack is real
Another reason this movie is so good is that Rob Reiner directed it. He was on a roll from the mid 80s to the mid 90s directing: "This is Spinal Tap", "Stand By Me", "The Princess Bride" "When Harry Met Sally", "Misery", "A Few Good Men" and "The American President "
Rain Man- Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. J/A this movie won many Oscars back in 1988 and it is an amazing story and movie without telling too much. Very confident both of you would enjoy this movie and love to see you react to it!
How sweet! Does he act the part, as well?Sorkin always has a memorable, key, monolog. There's a good one in The Americal President. Also, the opening scene from the HBO series, The Newsroom, is spectacular.
Just seeing Tom Cruise go head to head with Jack Nicholson was the highlight for me! The rest of the cast was equally as amazing! Rob Reiner's direction was flawless. 😎👍🏽🇺🇸
Jack Nicholson is a great professional. When shooting that last scene, they were first shooting Tom Cruise shots, reaction shots, and various other angles. They did Nicholson's main shot last. As he said his lines for the secondary shots he gave his full performance. People told him he should hold back and save it for his main shot. He felt they should have the performance they were reacting to, and he still had that amazing performance for his shot at the end.
This was written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Rob Reiner, the same team that made "The American President," another great movie. Aaron Sorkin is known for writing political dramas and did such a great job of creating these characters and, like you said, not adding a love story into the mix. Great movie!
Wow, finally, this had Oscar worthy performances. Loved it and watched it a few times. Great, great movie. Glad you guys enjoyed it. It's one of Tom's best performances if not the best. Totally loved him in this.
Great to Oscar-nominated performances. Nicholson was the only person nominated for an Oscar but the film was nominated best picture. Would be nice if they visited more oscar nominated movies.
This is Sorkin at his finest. Aaron Sorkin has written so many brilliant pieces. THE social Network, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Molly's Game. Plus so many TV series
This is one of my favourite movies of all time. The cast was amazing, and the storyline was top-notch. It's definitely one of the all-time greats. Another great reaction Jay and Amber. I'm so happy you guys reacted to this movie.
@Jay and Amber this remains one of my favorite films with such rich writing and amazing direction from Rob Reiner. Was a treat to see you both finally see this gem.
I was so happy when I got the notification that you had reacted to this movie. Your reaction was fantastic! I can hardly believe how much detail you picked up on with only one viewing. I had to watch it several times before I caught all those details. Thank you for this reaction, it was so much fun to watch! I think you would also really like "The Firm" with Tom Cruise. It's a hi-stakes thriller / mystery roller coaster that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Watch born on the Fourth of July. After seeing it, I have never questioned Tom Cruise as an actor. One of the most gut wrenching performances I’ve ever seen. He’s great in Jerry Maguire too. Great reaction ❤
Jack nailed every bit of the courtroom stuff on the first take. He still did six more takes with the same intensity even though he was told it wasn't necessary. He said something about how much he loves acting and it being a great part, so he was just going to spend the day going hard at it.
This movie had so many great actors in it. This movie came out about the same time frame as Rain Man and Top Gun. Those two movies, and this one made Tom Cruise's career in my opinion. Demi Moore was also at the height of her career. Fantastic movie.
@@eatsmylifeYT I said about the same time. Get your shit straight. About isn't exact. If you don't have anything better to do than make comments like this just don't make comments.
Happy you guys chose this movie, it's excellent. You guys have to remember that the Uniform Code of Military Justice is drastically different compared to conventional U.S. Law. Also, I served in the Marines until 2002 (Corporal) and believe me, there are a ton of Colonel Jessup and Lieutenant Kendricks in the Marine Corps. Luckily, the good intentioned Marines heavily outnumber those types. In essence, proportionally this is not so different from normal society. But we should hold our military to higher standards...those standards are attached to you the moment you join. The Marine Corps has 3 "Core Values": Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
Fun Fact: There's no such charge as "Conduct Unbecoming of a United States Marine" in the UCMJ. It was made up, but I don't mind a little dramatic license, since "A Few Good Men" is a terrific movie.
My favorite film of all time. It holds a very special place in my heart. It inspired me to join the military, which I did, and to work in the legal field, which I do. Love it!
One of the best casts ever assembled for a film, and one of the best movies ever made. Totally recommend watching interviews with the cast about Nicholson courtroom scene. It's amazing behind the scenes look.
This is what you call an all star cast guys. Demi Moore also had a great movie called J.I. Jane and Jack Nicolson had a great oscar winner called "As Good As It Gets" Both must watch movies. Great choice kids.
Jay and Amber were commenting on how good Nicholson is at creepy roles. As Good As It Gets is a totally different type of role for him, as an obsessive compulsive guy trying to cope with creating relationships with others. It is a really excellent film, with lots of funny moments.
I love this movie - everything about it is so perfectly executed. ❤ The acting is stellar, the script by Aaron Sorkin is absolutely incredible, and the directing/editing/pacing of the film is PERFECT. The story rises and falls exactly the way it should to keep tensions high and audiences glued to the screen. Loved your reaction, and I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much. ❤
GTMO has been a Navy Base since the Spanish American War. We rent the land for $1.00 a year. Mostly it was a refueling station for the Atlantic Fleet. During the Haitian Flotilla in the 1990s, it was used as a detainment camp for refugees. We maintain it as a stick in the eye to the Cuban Government since Castro took over in the 1960s. In the 2000s the Detainment Camp was opened for detainees from the war on terror. About 80 percent of who were there because the US Government in their wisdom decided to pay Afghanis money to turn in members of the Taliban or AL Queda and what happened was they turned in their neighbors or anyone else they wanted to get rid of. This movie was made before the 2000s.
This is one of the greatest courtroom dramas ever, some of the most iconic lines delivered with so much intensity and passion they hit hard!! Outstanding characters and acting 👏🏽 when you said your hearts were pounding lol we all felt like that..... and still do whenever I watch it... Great reaction ❤
I saw an interview with director Rob Reiner. He said for Nicholson's big speech in the courtroom, "You WANT me on that wall....," they only had one camera. In order to get all the close ups from different angles, they had to film that scene 5 times. He said Nicholson nailed it 5 times in a row on one take. Perfect every time.
The guy who wrote this movie, Aaron Sorkin, also wrote the movie "The American President", and the TV series The West Wing, and the tv series "Sports Night". They are my favorites (along with this). You can tell an Aaron Sorkin movie or series by the smart, witty banter. You have to see "Sports Night" both of you will love it!! But "West Wing" is superb!!!
This is such a good movie. This is such a good mystery. The very first time that I have saw this movie was when it was released in theaters when I was only 15 years old when I was in High School trip. I was on the NJROTC trip in Bootcamp. And I really really really enjoyed this movie a lot and this was such a good movie. And to this day I still love watching this movie a lot. And I really really like Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Jack Nicholson a lot. I was in the tenth grade in ROTC. When I was in NJROTC we usually do Marching Drills and he would always use to do a lot of left face, right, and about face.
I first caught your music reactions well over a year ago and check in nearly every night to see what’s new. Since you’ve delved into films I watched many of those episodes also. Now I’ve become aware of the surprisingly large category of media reactions, so many channels to choose. I’ve also seen this Reiner masterpiece when it was first released in theaters, and numerous reviews by your genre of “reactors”. I really love you guys, it’s been so much fun witnessing your responses, but this is another case where your editing and elimination of key dialogue and events lessens the impact of the story, even though I know it by heart. Example: Danny takes interest in Santiago’s uniforms hanging in the closet. You skipped that, but it becomes important later on. I can only imagine the effort it takes to decide how to trim a film down for time, but please be more prudent with what you leave in, and take out.
I've only just started watching this reaction, but the actor Kiefer Sutherland, who plays Lieutenant Johnathan James Kendrick in this movie, played the vampire David in The Lost Boys. He's a very underrated actor in my opinion.
What a great choice, thanks, guys! If you are looking for a funny movie with lots of music, please consider The Commitments! Thanks again for all your hard work! Our love to the family!
3:45 The man playing the Navy captain behind the desk is John M Jackson, the same guy who plays Admiral Chegwidden in the TV show JAG (1996-2004). So while not a household name, he was pretty recognizable for a while. BTW JAG is what led to the spin off show NCIS staring Mark Harmon as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
I thought I'd add some information for you guys about the Military. In order to be an Astronaut they have to train as a Test Pilot first - which is what Tom Cruise's character is in Top Gun.
I love this movie. It's a fun rewatch every time. The amazing military doing the precision drill routine at the beginning, the acting, the friendship between Danny and Sam (I love that conversation between them about "I wouldn't put Jessup on the stand, not in a million years. But here's the thing, neither your dad nor I are lead counsel for the defense. The question is - what would YOU do?"), all the dialogue, the fiery courtroom drama, the intensity... it's a terrific film. "You can't handle the truth!" is the often-quoted line from this film, but honestly, I love the line Jack has after that. When Daniel finally demands, "DID YOU ORDER THE CODE RED?" and Jack yells "YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT I DID!" Ooooooooooooh. Shivers! So so glad you enjoyed it!
This is definitely one of my top ten films. So glad to see y'all watching it here. Enjoyed your reaction as always and I make your goal my goal every single day. To make someone smile.
Guantanamo Bay “Gitmo” was and is a Naval Base (hence the Navy and Marines in this film) on Cuba. During the war on terror, part of it was repurposed as a prison for terrorists. That was well after this movie. The jury were Navy and Marine personnel, not Army.
So glad you guys loved this flick, it's right up there among the best. It was fun seeing all these actors so young. There are many great movies that they all went on to make, lots to see.
Dawson's character arc is the most satisfying thing in the whole movie for me. He was deeply entrenched within a cult and, by the end, he learns a critical ethical lesson. He and Kaffee have a tumultuous relationship that ends in mutual respect. Also, the problem with "chains of command" is that they can serve more than one purpose. When in the hands of ethical people, they keep communication and decision-making healthy. When in the hands of unethical people, they can be exploited to protect unethical actions. But only at the very top where the power is concentrated.
Douche lawyer in the bar saying kaffee’s lines was aaron sorkin 19:50 The writer of the screenplay of the film and the play this was based on. He also wrote west wing, newsroom, social network, Steve Jobs, mollys game, trial of Chicago 7, meet the ricardos, Charlie Wilson’s war, moneyball. He’s won an Oscar for his writing, and he directed molly, chigago and ricardos as well as writing the scripts. He’s a genius.
It is recognized (especially after WWII) that the excuse of "I was only following orders" is not an acceptable excuse for abusive and/or illegally behavior by members of the military.
The “guy” that you said looked familiar, the one that showed Tom and Demi the victims room that was Kiefer Sutherland and yes you saw him in “The Lost Boys” and “Stand By Me” he was the bully who held the cigarette to the kids face .
They chose him because he had never actually tried a case in court before. He always took a plea deal. They had no idea he was gonna grow a conscience and actually try the case.
As a military brat for the most part I love these kind of movies....my dad did 30 yrs Vietnam vet, my husband did 15 yrs would have done more but came home from Iraq twice and Afghanistan once as a disabled vet, my brother served my uncles my gramps...these movies and terms they use just make me feel at home lol.

Also, the lawyer Tom Cruise is talking to at 4:49 was also in Crimson Tide and was SecNav(Secretary of the Navy) on NCIS!Matt Craven (no relation to Wes Craven of Nightmare On Elm Street) and also was on a great but underrated show on ABC called "High Incident"!!❤ your channels!! Love the reaction to a timeless movie. Jack Nicholson's scene is one of those iconic ones shown during greatest moments in film history. Another court drama from the 90's is Class Action starring Gene Hackman. It has one of my favorite lines in cinema -- "you so much as look at my daughter, and they won't be able to identify you with dental records." Gene Hackman is like Nicholson with so many memorable lines in cinema.
Gene Hackman is a legend he is so good in everything he has been in loved him in Hoosiers. Was also the voice of United Airlines in the 90s in tv adds.
12:25 The man seen driving the HMMV (Hummer) is Noah Wyle who is most famous for playing Doctor John Carter on the TV show ER from 1994 to 2009. He also has played the character Flynn Carson in the 3 made for TV movies The Librarian, as well as guest starring in the short lived TV series of the same name (all of which aired on the cable channel USA).
These need to next up for you. No particular order: 1 - Braveheart 2- Gladiator 3 - Good Will Hunting Three of my favorite movies and will all make great reactions.
If you'd like to see the greatest movie ever, about a Jury deliberating on a case, watch the original 12 Angry Men (not the remake). It's an older movie with a star studded cast including the legendary Henry Fonda (One of the top 5 actors in history in my opinion).
Aaron Sorkin is by far one of my favorite writers! Before he was known at all he was a struggling writer and his sister was in the military as a lawyer. She was telling him about a case that she had and he thought that would be a great movie so he wrote it.
Great reaction! This movie is SO epic that you can find "tons" of actual attorney's reaction to this movie AND apparently some Law School courses use clips from this movie to open legal discussion in class.
Fun fact! Kiefer later said several actors that happened to be filming other stuff sat in the Gallery in that final scene (including Bruce Willis) as they knew they were witnessing something special.
This is absolutely one of Tom's greatest performances! A perfect role! Another one I love is Far & Away. Also, there is a movie also from 1992 called Gladiator that has one of these Marines in it that I recommend.
Glad you watched this one. Tom Cruise is an underrated actor. He has a hard time shaking the pretty boy movie star label, from his earlier movies. This is one of his best roles. I also liked him in "Jack Reacher." He's an ex-military investigator. It is more of an action movie, with some court room drama. Another good court-related movie is "The Judge" with Robert Duvall and Robert Downey, Jr. Hope you check those out too.
That last courtroom scene between Nicholson and Cruise is one of the best, most intense courtroom scenes ever put to film.
Agreed
As I understand, what you see in that scene from Jack was the 1st take ... simply perfect. Director said, "Ok we're done".
He also sat for everyone else's scenes.
Big actors will typically leave when they're not being filmed and someone will sit in and read their lines for others to react to.
Nicholson sat and gave his full performance even when he wasn't the primary in the shots and the rest of the cast has said his every read was exactly the same which helped feed the other actors.

One of the things I love about this movie, they didn't try to weave in an unnecessary love interest. 💪🏽
With only two small rolls for black actors, it would not be considered diverse enough to even allow a nomination in today's Academy Awards.

After many years of watching, that statement while it sounds great, it is a lie. As stated earlier in the film, having loyalty to the Core is the most important thing even above God, to Marines. Yes, you guys have to watch Rain Man.
IN some ways US commanders in regional command HQ's are god-like.
I am a retired U S Marine and I was there when filming was happening This is a very personal movie for me and I am very happy you guys enjoyes and appricated it so much Warms my heart Thank you!
Thank you for your service, sir.
🫡
I believe anyone that has served, the honor aspect touches deep.
Thank you for your service.
I always choke up when Dawson salutes Kaffee in the end.
@@Historian212 Love me some Moishe Maisel!
Yeah, he was good in this movie and I saw his standup at an Improv a number of years ago. He wasn't that good.
@joethomas1775
I also loved him in "The Whole Nine Yards" & its sequel, "The Whole Ten Yards". And his Shatner impersonation is so great.. once seen, never forgotten.
💙💫
I've always loved that last scene with Kevin Bacon's character, showing the grudging admiration for Kaffee's gamble, and that they are still friends.
Yes. The movie is full of such gems.
One of the best movie lines ever..."You Can't Handle the Truth"😂😂😂❤
Just that we couldnt hear it
All the tv shows and saying those words. I was wondering where did they got it from. This movie “A Few Good Men” and got it of the best quote
Everyone agrees, but I always liked, ARE WE CLEAR?! Crystal, too.
You can't stop. He said so much after that and it was all great lines
It's like if they were reacting to Jaws and didn't show the shark.
Dude. There is not a single "Army" person in the courtroom; there are Marines and there are Sailors.
Tom used Jacks ego and anger to get the better of him. Brilliant 👏 👏 👏
Another great courtroom drama you'll have to watch is the classic "12 Angry Men". It was with a star-studded cast from back in the day. Superb movie!
That was such a classic
Definitely a Classic!!!
Such a great movie - so glad you two are enjoying it. 'The Firm' with Tom Cruise is right up Amber's alley. You guys will love it.
Yes! I hope they add it to their list.
Yes, love “The Firm”
The Firm and Jerry Maguire need to be their next two Tom Cruise movies
I’ve been suggesting that movie all over the place, it’s amazing, and Jay & Amber will love it I’m sure! 👌🏻
@@docj72 Yep!
Great movie choice. Another great Tom Cruise film I know both of you guys would love is "Jerry Maguire". "Rain Man" is another 80's film which stars Dustin Hoffman in his Oscar winning performance that shows Tom Cruise's gowth as a serious actor.
I was going to recommend the same two movies. Good choices!
Rain Man is must watch as well such a good movie
Yes to both!
YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! That line is a favorite in my family.
I watched Far and Away recently and LOVED it...
Far and Away was a great epic movie!
@@phillyphan1225 I can't believe I had never seen it before....;)
Jay and Amber might recognize him as one of the bully older teenagers from Stand By Me too.
His father Donald was a good actor. Loved his character in Kelly's Heroes with Clint Eastwood
24 was one of the best shows in TV history, I've watched the entire series twice and still wish they would reboot it.
Flatliners is a good Keifer Sutherland movie. Julia Roberts is in it too.
Keifer was so good in this movie. Makes you wish his character had a bigger role.
I was stationed in South Korea and saw this in a base theater where every person in it was military.
The synchronized "oohs and aahs" for every scene with a revelation was great. The military audience made this already great movie even better.
Not this movie but I first saw Star Wars as a young Second Lieutenant in a theater filled with nothing but Army service members. It was phenomenal!
That would be a great experience!
…and the BRILLIANT AARON SORKIN.
In addition, his production company, Castle Rock, also produced The Shawshank Redemption.
Rob can get really annoying with his politics but the guy had one of the best runs in the 80s and 90s.
He could never play Santa Lmao Amber!
@@BishopWalters12 It's why I don't like him or Stephen King.
Rain Man- Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. J/A this movie won many Oscars back in 1988 and it is an amazing story and movie without telling too much. Very confident both of you would enjoy this movie and love to see you react to it!
and the movie "Jerry McGuire"
YES, YES, YES to Rain Man. Hoffman is incredible in his role and you will hate Cruise for the first half of the movie.
My son, who has special needs, memorized Jack's speech as a little boy. Priceless 😂😂😂
Cool 😎.
Jack made this movie. He was the true star in a movie full of stars.
When they questioned him about that in rehearsal he said " I love to act "
Nicholson is in what, 15 minutes in the film, yet still commands such a presence
Two days on set and you go home with accolades across the board -- that's an actor's dream right there!
@@Chasmodius and millions of dollars $$$
@@Chasmodius it's kinda like Hopkins in SOTL. Not a lot of screen time but he's probably the most memorable character
One of the best movies! Tom, Jack, Demi, Keiffer and Kevin...the actors are incredible.
I stopped watching this reaction and started the movie. I want to relive the whole thing.
This was written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Rob Reiner, the same team that made "The American President," another great movie. Aaron Sorkin is known for writing political dramas and did such a great job of creating these characters and, like you said, not adding a love story into the mix. Great movie!
Love American President!
I think this is also Demi Moore's best performance. I think she totally disappeared into this role. Everyone was so good.
This is Sorkin at his finest. Aaron Sorkin has written so many brilliant pieces. THE social Network, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Molly's Game. Plus so many TV series
And "Steve Jobs". He even out-Sorkin-ed himself on that one.
@phila3884 , Jobs was so good, the entire cast was absolutely brilliant.
West Wing forever.
Absolutely love anything written by Aaron Sorkin.
Great movie! Jack Nicholson's testimony at the end is one of the greatest scenes ever.
This is one of my favourite movies of all time. The cast was amazing, and the storyline was top-notch. It's definitely one of the all-time greats. Another great reaction Jay and Amber. I'm so happy you guys reacted to this movie.
An absolute gem of a movie, I’m so glad you guys enjoyed it so much! You guys are the best!!
I second "The Firm" - - a good thriller from the John Grisham novel. (A Time to Kill would be another good recommendation for them to watch.)
One of the most classic movie lines in history "you cant handle the truth". Jack Nicholson was perfection in this movie.
I wonder if they know Demi Moore was married to Bruce Willis and were THE Hollywood couple at this time!!!
@@jannathompson2262
I remember when Demi was pregnant, and was on the cover of time.
No. This came out in 1992. Top Gun and Rain Man came out in the 80s. Get your shit straight.

I said about the same time. Get your shit straight. About isn't exact. If you don't have anything better to do than make comments like this just don't make comments.
Bom of fourth July is another classic
@sparky6086 actually, conduct unbecoming applies to officers, but not enlisted men. UCMJ Article 133.
@@hazi5961 Yep.
@hazi5961 The accussed in the movie were both enlisted, and even with officers, it doesn't specify Marine.
Great reaction! This is one of those movies that you can watch over and over again and never get sick of it. I watch it twice a year!
That line “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!” was something that would get rolled out in arguments and conversations like a meme before there were memes.
The Marine Band and the Marine Silent Drill Team is always a pleasure to watch.
I second As Good As It Gets.
Jay and Amber were commenting on how good Nicholson is at creepy roles. As Good As It Gets is a totally different type of role for him, as an obsessive compulsive guy trying to cope with creating relationships with others. It is a really excellent film, with lots of funny moments.
You can’t forget his performance in “One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest” too.
Sports Night is too funny!!!
Oh Sports Night is brilliant
They should totally watch American President. Really a treat.
15:15 - Jack Nicholson playing Santa is something I would give anything to see. Amber, you just hit on a multi-million dollar idea.
I was really saddened by the editing here. All of the lines were cut short, and some of the most meaningful cut out.
I've only just started watching this reaction, but the actor Kiefer Sutherland, who plays Lieutenant Johnathan James Kendrick in this movie, played the vampire David in The Lost Boys. He's a very underrated actor in my opinion.
Also Jack Buer from 24
A Time to Kill..he plays the scumbag really well!
He’s also in Stand By Me…… that’s his type of character too 😂😂😂 he’s great
What a great choice, thanks, guys! If you are looking for a funny movie with lots of music, please consider The Commitments! Thanks again for all your hard work! Our love to the family!
Such a great film with fantastic music
I agree, and have suggested as well.
I’ve requested The Commitments or Eddie and the Cruisers for years. Still waiting.
@@marknapiello8055They would LOVE Eddie and the Cruisers and Eddie and the Cruisers II Eddie Lives!...😏
If you like court related films, you should really watch Twelve Angry Men. Probably the best film ever made in this genre.
Kendrick was portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland. He was in Lost Boys, Stand by Me and he also played Jack Baur on 24.
We also Hated him in A Time to Kill. Was so good in Flatliners.
Yup.
Love this film. And if you like 'who done it' type movies, I recommend The Pelican Brief with Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts.
Douche lawyer in the bar saying kaffee’s lines was aaron sorkin

The writer of the screenplay of the film and the play this was based on.
Paused 5 minutes in to point out that's the USMC Silent Drill Team. Saw them live in Pensacola! Breathtaking!!
One of my favorite movies of all time. I'll never get tired of watching it. I'm glad you guys chose to watch it.
When I see Rob Reiner's name, I will always associate him as Meathead from All in the Family.
This movie came out during when DON'T ASKK. DON'T TELL was in effect. Things like this was buried. This movie was fantastic
You guys should watch A Soldier’s Story Starring Harold Rollins, Denzel Washington & Adolf Caesar…. great performances by all.
This is a phenomenal film with as you say an all-star cast. They all do a fantastic job but Jack is the boss. He can play crazy like no one else
I seriously don't think he is acting when he plays crazy(JK). He's also great in As good As It Gets
Great movie! If you like courtroom drama you should definitely check out To Kill A Mockingbird, Primal Fear and A Time To Kill.
These need to next up for you. No particular order:
1 - Braveheart
2- Gladiator
3 - Good Will Hunting
Three of my favorite movies and will all make great reactions.
I believe he first wrote this idea as a play but he's also one of my fave writers. He has his own style and much of what he's written is gold.
His writing for The Newsroom was great as well. I wish we got one more season of it.
