I collect now in Finland milk-caps. I like those in salad with sour cream salt and pepper. In saltwater those Will Be good to The next autumn. Thanks For The interesting video a little bit south from here My cabin in Finnish Lapland 😀. 👍
Hi Luke its not iron wood but hard wood. I love your program and used to collect mushrooms now I watch. Im in a wheelchair so please keep up the good work. God bless
Hi, thank you for your comment. I'm glad that you can enjoy some mushrooms from my videos. Regarding iron wood, I meant the tree with Latin name 'Carpinus betulus'.
Yes there are several trees commonly called ironwood. Here in Pennsylvania we call ostrya virginiana ironwood. Also called hophornbeam it is very similar to your European hornbeam as the names imply. So happy to find your channel Luke! Happy foraging!
Beautiful mushrooms. I’d love to see how you prepare and/or preserve your mushrooms. I have been finding many suillus mushrooms here in Tennessee. Chanterelles are just beginning to pop.
Glad you like the mushrooms. About preparing, I created one cooking video this winter. You can find it in my archive :) I'm planning to release a video about mushroom processing too.
Here in ca theres usually Bosporus and field mushroom that pop up in the summer. Saw a rogue inky cap the other day too. The area your in reminds me of the vids i see on the other guys channel hes in the midwest somewhere.
Hi Luke! You have the best mushroom content on TH-cam! I love the descriptions and information you give and the beautiful shots you capture! Your videos are so educational and relaxing at the same time, I love when you tap the mushrooms and talk about their textures too! Thank you for what you do!!! ❤
Hey Luke, sorry if missed it in a previous video but why did you change knives? And as always, I'm very jealous! It is still dry in the UK, I'm waiting patiently for rain and mushrooms!
Good luck with the rain then :) About knives, I have 2 of them. This Swiss one is my favorite as it's sharper and more comfortable to use. Opinel is handy because of the brush and is lighter weight. When I don't go foraging alone, I borrow one of my knives to my buddy, which was the case this time too :)
Hello Luke! Nice video, as always! Keep up the good work! I have a question, if you are kind to help me. Is there a specific altitude for the oak forests to find boletes and/or chanterelles in them? I've been today in a pretty low altitude forest, after some good rain, and I couldn't find any of them :(
Thank you. Regarding the oak forest, it depend's a lot on the location. Also mushrooms may sometimes appear even 10-14 days after the first proper rain if it's dry, so I just recommend to visit the forest regularily.
Yeah, some time ago I used to cut too, but nowadays experts say it isn't any better and there are a few reasons why to pull the whole mushroom out instead.

Hello watching from Manila Philippines ♥️
Hello, thanks for watching and for the comment :)
That one bolete had a stick poking under the cap. Interesting 🙏
If it's what I mean, then it was a fissioned part of the stem looking like a wooden stick :)
Awe yes , I see 👀
i find it odd (but very cool) that you found black trumpets in the spring! as always, very nice finds!
It was surprising for me too. But in fact it was the beginning of summer already :)

Ingin berada di tempat itu...
Those Amanita looked like pantherina… extremely psychoactive! Much stronger than muscaria
Sometimes you can find those too.
@@LukesMushrooms but nobody I know has ever done them a second time… way stronger than A muscaria!
I wish I knew the edibles
lung mushroom
Yes :)
you have to cut it do not take the root.
I know why you say this but it's no longer considered to be the best way of picking mushrooms.
I just have this classical way of thinking, how to preserve the mushrooms for future growth. Maybe its too out dated. @@LukesMushrooms
