Yet only about 10% of the rap community (and that's being genereous) will even bother with this album because Lupe been making music since 2005. I'll get stronger and develop in their wake, eat my dust.
@@MyEyesBlink You gotta admit that the rap game at least mainstream was getting a bit lazy and sameish. This summer is like a lightning bolt hitting the rap game
The palace of bones, castle of sand and mansion of cards is Amy Winehouse. It pretty much tells you that she just didn't have a closet full of skeletons but she herself was a fragile palace of flesh and bone. Amy battled alcoholism, drug addiction and bulimia and it was on full display for everyone to see. Let's not forget her name was Winehouse, so house, palace, mansion etc.. and she died of alcohol poisoning. Of course this is just my take. There is probably many more layers to this.
I'll add that I think Lupe as Amy Winehouse is saying please bless my castle of sand (my earthly works which will crumble eventually, as said by Jimi Hendrix in Castles Made of Sand - Jimi died too young, like Amy) and at the end when his/her soul calls them home, their soul is still peering back into their mind, where the lyrics live.
I don’t know if anybody has mentioned this buts I just heard it. At 7:28 when Lupe says “ my soul called my skeleton home” you can hear a skeleton video game like sound affect showing just how fragile it was. I don’t know if anyone else talked about that already but I just heard it and it amazed me.
I love you guys as creators.you're whole vibe is very hate free and you still give your opinion. Also as a person who lives in egypt so like people here only know the big artists in rap like kanye ,Em, Kendrick you guys introduced me to a lot of artists.Great to see you doing well in your content and i hope in your lives as well .much love
This is the type of Lupe. I love. Chill Vibe on the beats. Hard lyrics + everything so meaningful. You got to rewind it. I love it. Lot of dope albums coming out this year and you guys analyzed it perfectly. I love how you guys actually catch the bars
Found your channel through the beef. Thank you for putting me on to so much new music and great artists I've heard the names of but never checked out for myself.
Yesss! Waited for you guys. With the whole concept of Amy Winehouse rapping, this song has another layer of meaning with her addiction and the fragility of life.
Lupe might be the best rapper right now. Im sad that he said he dont wanna do no features or somethin like that. Would love to see him against Cole, Kendrick, Em, Wayne
The only time Lupe featured with another rapper where I felt the other rapper could keep up was "Pumpkin Seeds" with Aesop Rock, the charity joint they did.
Lets GO. I love this friggin song. Verse 1 talks about what it takes to be an artist, what you have to give up. Do what the chorus commands and for the Gram(my). When Lupe was with Atlantic, they were sending him songs with hooks already that he had to make verses for. The second verse talks about the troubles and sabotages an artist faces. The last verse is SO hard for me. Basically in his music, his soul and his body (of work) have been seperated. And he needs to go back to where it all started, calling back on verse 2.

this album highlights Lupe as the best lyricist we have right now. too bad so few will actually give it a chance. the mismanagement of Lupe's career is so unfortunate for him and for us fans. Kendrick coulda been beefing with Lupe instead of Drake if they were on the same level of fame 😅
I like the imagery in Mumble rap and how Lupe sets up Amy Winehouse getting her ability to rap through his storytelling ..and last verse is 🔥🔥🔥. One of my favorites too.
Mr. BBL Drizzy was never on the list. If you are speaking numbers, probably. This hiphop shit and culture? He doesn't make the top 100. No rapper with ghost writers makes the list. No biters allowed..
@@screamingeagle11bit’ll happen in due time. I actually met Nas last Summer and talked to him for a while and he was full of praise for Lupe, I think he said Lupe was his favourite rapper rn or the guy who reminds him most of himself
MY OPINION ... HE'S BETTER THEN KENDRICK AND A LOT OF OTHER GREATS!
Yeah, but most rap fans don't really like rap enough to appreciate the greats. It's sad, but it's how it is.
Lupe dropping this after Drill Music In Zion, it’s like he never left
He started recording this BEFORE dmiz
But... he never left lol dude hasn't gone more than 18 months without dropping either an album or mixtape and he drops freestyles ALL THE TIME. 🤔
