Ben - thanks for this warm up. I’ve used it so many times and it has helped stop running injury. Doesn’t take too long and I feel ready to go at the end of it.
@@maddenmckenzy3011 Dynamic stretches like the ones in this video help get your muscles prepared to run. Static stretches are better for after exercise, and they help decrease risk of injury, reduce soreness, and increase flexibility. You may need a longer warmup (i.e., a few more dynamic stretches), or this may be sufficient for you. Try it out, and see how you feel!
Cheers Neil - Was going to ask same thing! Superb this warm up. I've been doing his old one but like the addition of the timer, something simple, works!
Thanks for this Ben! Definitely something I need to do more of before going out on a run and a follow along video is perfect for that! May even have to rip the audio somehow so I can have it in my headphones when I don’t have my phone with me! PS I really appreciate the lack of adverts in this video too. Keep up the amazing work and well done for getting it done yourself and still producing amazing content!
Cheers Ben, my current warm up routine is from a previous video of yours. I've fewer niggles since doing a proper warm up and proper stretch session after each run. We all know we should do it but with busy lives I understand why we decide to skip them.
Thanks for this video Ben I am the world's worst for warming up pre run...even before a race I will maybe do 0.5m jog and that is it but this has loads of great tips!
Perfectly timed video, was just watching the old warm video and was wishing you could follow along rather than having to pause. Will come in handy for my London Marathon training. Thanks for all the amazing content you have put out there
Spot on. Those are some of the excercises I do but in an accelerated version. As usual the first 5-10min the legs still feeling a bit sore from the last workout (especially if I did speed intervals or some demanding steep climbs). I sometimes I do some squats or jumping jacks too.
Training for London at the moment and picked up runners knee, again! Seem to egt injured every time my mileage goes above 30 a week which isnt even high. Really disappointing! But- definitely taking it as an opportunity to start strength work at home 15 minutes a day from now on 👍
Thanks for this Ben, always try to do a proper warm up before each run, always good to find new exercises to add in! Suffering from a bit of runners hip at the moment so taking it easy. Bit of stretching and strength work to try resolve it.. hopefully it won’t be long till I’m back out
Thanks Ben - am always a 'faffer' in getting ready for a run which means that the warmup tends to be rushed or missed. Great new merch....where are those shorts from? Hope all well
Really helpful, thank you! I can't be the only one worried the dog was going to get too close, right? My running: first session of the second week of your intermediate half marathon plan, Ben. I am NOT a fan of intervals, even if I completely understand why they're in the plan! I am also struggling with the 'run easy' part as I'm usually up and out and going. Will learn though, and will also do more of a warm up than my current 'just stretch a bit'.
Was literally watching you old warm up and cool down video yesterday and thought would be nice to see a new one. Thanks for reading my mind! Keep up the good work
Why high knee drive + high knees as seperate? doesnt the high knee drive already count for that? also i think it would be good to do something for the ankles and calves?
I fall firmly in the camp of knowing that a 5 minute warm up is a great idea and can prevent injury, and then completely failing to do it 9 times out of 10. 😂
Usually when I warm up, my heart rate went up and I will wait my heart rate to go down first, then I will start my run. Is it okay to do like that? Or I just need to straight away run after warming up? Thank you for replying Ben! Awesome tips btw :)
Hi Ben, Love the videos. I have been running for the past 5 years now and i started doing the wim hof method about a year ago and i can see a huge difference in leg tiredness and energy. He uses cold water and breathing techniques to enhance performance. Check him out,you wont regret it.
Complete the warm up and just smashed my 10k PR!!! Thanks Ben!
Thank you for showing preview of the next exercise each time
Ben - thanks for this warm up. I’ve used it so many times and it has helped stop running injury. Doesn’t take too long and I feel ready to go at the end of it.
I use this warmup before every run! Quick, effective, and fun. Thanks Ben!
Are you supposed to stretch before the warm up so you can run right after??

Definitely needed. 5 minutes is about all the time I'd like to devote to a warm-up for most of my runs so this is great content to get me going.
Can you do a post-run cooldown and stretch routine too, please.
It's coming.. Sarah has edited it.. Will be out Saturday!
Cheers Neil - Was going to ask same thing! Superb this warm up. I've been doing his old one but like the addition of the timer, something simple, works!
🔥🔥🔥
Been doing this before every run for ages now, it’s perfect! Thanks Ben! 🎉🎉🎉
Great that it's helped! Happy running :-)
This is my 9th time following along and I’ve only just noticed the dog joint us 😂
I use Ben’s old video for a warm up. Will use this for something new because there is a couple new exercises added. 😆
What a lovely day to see you Ben.. Whish to see your vlog daily.. Thank you

Your warm up jog in place with the music looks like a little jig. 😄 Thank you for all your videos, very helpful. Going for a sub 3hr marathon next.
good to see you back ben
I just want to say that I love your dog, sir. The video's great as well, thanks!
Ben - I still use the original version of this you published a long while back. It has been great.
Your warm up and cool down videos have made a huge difference. Thank you!

Ben: You haven't introduced us to the handsome dog, and that makes me upset !
Thanks for this video Ben I am the world's worst for warming up pre run...even before a race I will maybe do 0.5m jog and that is it but this has loads of great tips!
Nice video. I made one for my channel that has similar exercises. Mine is it follow along though. Super video was always Ben!
My today's run was good. Thanks!
I really liked the new style of your video👍

So great! Will definitely use these!
great stuff... always good to get back to basics..
great warm up
1st here! - do all this (on previous advice from you!) Keep up the content Ben - we love it!
Exactly what I needed
Yay! I have been looking for a warm up routine for my runs! Thank you so much❤❤❤

Simple and impactful. Great tips Ben!

Hope you're back out again very soon!!
Really helpful video Ben! I'll definitely implement it!
Hi Ben, great video. See you're wearing some new kit like the shorts. Are they going to be a future item on your shop? Keep up the good work 💪🏻
Nice hat! Looking forward to mine arriving 😁🧢
Nice vid dude. Very useful 👌🏼
Thanks for the support Jim!! Glad you liked the video :-)
The dog is AMAZING!
Great timing as I’m just about to start your 10k for beginners plan 😀
Thanks Ben - am always a 'faffer' in getting ready for a run which means that the warmup tends to be rushed or missed.
Great new merch....where are those shorts from?
Hope all well
Amazing warm up thank you.
Definitely something most overlook or at least undercook. And I second the dog comment, how do we not know about the addition to the Parkes household?
Ha.. Moby is my Mums dog.. we were filming at her house!
Thanks!
Really helpful, thank you! I can't be the only one worried the dog was going to get too close, right?

Great easy to follow workout and reminder that I should do a proper warmup instead of seeing the first easy 10 minutes as a warmup....
El perrito súper atento 😊
Thanks for sharing
Love this warmup Ben and so much so that I use this before my races! Just a question, what music did you use for this video? 😀
The run hurts but the warm up definitely helped with it
Was literally watching you old warm up and cool down video yesterday and thought would be nice to see a new one. Thanks for reading my mind! Keep up the good work
I’m with the same shoes! Invincibles team
What kind of dog is that, it is the cutest dog I've ever seen
Thanks a lot
Very nice
Why high knee drive + high knees as seperate? doesnt the high knee drive already count for that? also i think it would be good to do something for the ankles and calves?
What brand of shorts are those?? Thanks bro
nike invincible
would you do more for your long runs?
I watch this video every day before my runs, must be hundreds of times and I always wonder "did Ben ever manage to touch his toes??" 😅
I fall firmly in the camp of knowing that a 5 minute warm up is a great idea and can prevent injury, and then completely failing to do it 9 times out of 10. 😂
This is me 100%
I used to be like that until I kept getting injured. Now I do it all the time. 😁
If I don't own a garden rake, is it ok for me to just go for a run?
Haha.. of course!
Usually when I warm up, my heart rate went up and I will wait my heart rate to go down first, then I will start my run. Is it okay to do like that? Or I just need to straight away run after warming up? Thank you for replying Ben! Awesome tips btw :)
Sure it's ok to wait a minute or too.. so long as it's not cold.. then get going on the run!
Day 1 🏃♀️
10k today!
Im gonna do a 10k without stopping!!!

Can not recommended WHM and running enough. Perfect duo. Been doing the same for 6 months and its a life changer. Keep everything simple :)
I guess the dog got tired of warming up and just went for a run!
among us
Looks like you tired that poochy right out Ben!
Windy! Not a good day for cycling.
Comforting to see that you can't touch your toes. I'm in the same boat with the world's tightest hamstrings.
Odd name
Whose garden? Dog?
My Mums garden and dog! :-)
Thank you. Well done on your trail marathon ! North Devon my favourite bit of SWC path.
My today's run was good. Thanks!
