    I was encouraged to make the switch from auto to manual in NFS Heat, and did. Initially, it made me slower, which is to be expected. After it became second nature, there was a subtle improvement in track times. I kept with it and have driven manual in every game since simply because I enjoy it more.
    The simplest advice I can give is: “Don’t look, listen”. Looking over at the tac constantly during races is just something I can’t do, and don’t want to do. I shift entirely on the sound of the engine. Personally, I think learning to do that will make for a more enjoyable experience.

      The gear you go into at the switch is the relative gear according to your speed when switching. I need to do more tests but I’m pretty sure I can illustrate it well in a video.

      It can be but once you get used to it , and as long as it doesnt lag , its not there the problem , the automatic players have the advantage in not thinking about the gears and just focusing in the corners cuts and not getting rammed

    Manual is more fun n I feel like u got more control over your car whilst taking corners because u can take the turn in whatever gear u want… It also helps regaining traction really fast when your car starts swirling. In auto some cars take mad long to go to the next gear whilst you’re abusing the acceleration button… N for drifting it’s a staple. However H shifter + clutch is on a whole nother level!

    almost 2 seconds is alot of time .and for those that dont understand manual and automatic basically automatic whill shift in whenever it think it needs to without factoring other things like:could you squeeze in more speed for the next shift ,do you need to stay in the power band or not .alot of that if done wrong will make you slower and automatic is prone to do it wrong all the time.besides your own car sounds will make you decide when its time to shift.

    The reason why the difference is not extreme in Motorfest like it is on lets say Unbound is because of how the cars start in each game. Unbound gives you a perfect start chance AND a full bottle of nos. Whereas in Motorfest you start with jack shit and just hold the trigger down fully at the start. So even though you can pre shift in manual it is only good enough to save 1-3 seconds.

    The most easy way to know when to change gears is the same as in real life manual car. Use the sound, you dont need to look at the rpms, just need to know what the tone/sound of top rpm and the tone/sound of low rpm. And thats it, in time you even know what tone/sound = rpms

  • @MaioliRHCP
    @MaioliRHCP 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Old video but on automatic, if you actually press the gas until half during the countdown and press fully when the race starts, you can be as fast as most people using manual.
    That's because of wheel spin. We all know that traction control is faster when it's turned on in this game (and in real-life too), but that does make the start worse because it limits the car speeds to avoid loosing traction (and in some cases it doesn't even avoid it)
    For example, the Agera R is a car that can go like 4 full gears of wheel spin in automatic with TS on. If you do the half press strategy, the first gear will be more gentle, and the car will basically have 0 wheel spin and go a LOT faster. It's like what happens on drag events, if you time your acceleration correctly you can be way faster because if you hit the sweet spot for the gear change exactly when the countdown ends, you will have 0 wheel spin.
    Looking at your tests, almost all the time the automatic lost to the manual was at the start, I think it would've been much closer if it wasn't for that.

    It's a Crew franchise game, which means cheezers or bug-abusers are never far away. And of course, also in this topic they are around : macro users. They are using H-Shifter + Manual clutch, macro'd on one button, in this case stick of controller (yes, they don't even drive with wheel)....and macros are again faster, just like in previous game. Always remember, in games like TC2, TCM......it's not always about the driving, it's very often about who's cheesing, glitching, bug abusing and so on.

    If your just flat on the accelerator from the countdown you will get alot of wheel spin but you can reduce it and get a pretty quick launch if you find the sweet spot in the revs, if the engine is grunting you're to heavy on accelerator, you want to hear the engine wind up to a nice steady whine to just before the engine starts to go bumbumbumbumbum then as soon as you launch you go full throttle n will fly by cars Infront. It's good why you do it with electric cars and it's just instant acceleration from 0-100 while everyone else is still wheelspining on the line.

    No need to test nfs and crew 2 and motorfest manual option is a joke. Doesn't even have the default buttons like other games L1 and R1 for gear shift? Also when I did it I even got custom button mapping on my xbox. All 3 of these games are horrible for manual. Just pretend they re gta 5 online races. Pretty good for arcade automatic though

    manual is better with a wheel, automatic is better on controller
