There's not much you can do about intentional rammers (as you said, patience is key, they'll mess up), but you can for sure deal with your settings. My advice : use ABS / ESP off / TCS+ (comfort) / Drift assist : sport or comfort. And also tune your cars. In Grand Race the field is balanced out, which means everyone is using maxed out vehicles with green parts (for instance Street Tier 1 green 600 parts). So you don't use your affixes from blue-purple-gold parts, BUT you still use your tuning (Pro Settings) on the car, make sure they are the way you like them. Here, my advice would be keep a green set of parts and test/tune the car with those parts for Grand Race. For Summit (Nitro Chemist set and Score Breaker set) and Main Stage (XP Magnet Set) you need gold parts, for Grand Race they don't count. And in some cases, the cars drive a bit different with Green parts or Gold parts, keep that in mind, which might mean you need to tweak your tuning a little for Grand Race compared to Summit set ups.

My biggest issue seems to be luck, there's always a solid tree or rock i hit by coincidence during a jump, or whenever someone spins out its right in front of me and i can't avoid crashing into them and getting stuck, or being the only one in a group getting tapped into the dirt, or the car ahead of me when the race starts doesn't move. Its just real frustrating when it seemingly always happens to me an not to anyone else in the race, and you can't even avoid these things. Game just hates me ig lmao

The biggest problem for me is the handling feels crazy different to offline. It feels like I'm playing another game. It gets very slippery and I also experience some random direction changes from which I'm not even able to countersteer.
Oh Shit you also experience direction changes on your car too?? I'm glad that I'm not the only one lol. It always seems to happen with Rally cars and occasionally with Rally Raid Cars.
By far the most annoying thing is getting punished by other people's terrible driving aka getting stuck behind them when they crash/spin out. Fast reaction times are def needed but also a good thing to literally expect people to crash and think of how to avoid them.
Thing that bugs me the most is when transitioning from 1 vehicle to the next. Sometimes when you spawn into next vehicle you end up in the wall or missing a checkpoint and lose a heaps of places even though it's not your fault. So annoying hopefully they fix that to make it a bit smoother when changing cars especially at highspeeds.
Just got into motorfest and watched a couple of your vids and man this is super helpful. Especially with what cars are meta. I used what cars you suggested and went from 17-28th place to the top 10. Now I just gotta follow these tips!
facts. i got this a week before i turned 20 and i was constantly placing top 15 or top 20. after about 2 weeks i started placing top 5th or 3rd constantly
I struggle most with skill lol as a beginner to the crew its frustrating that the grand race is the only option to play others. As a beginner in nfs i was able to win pvp some whereas this game is impossible for me.. the cuts would definitely help but would possibly get me into top 15 lol.. just hoping nfs comes back
Staying on the road seems to be my biggest issue I can’t seem to keep the car on the asphalt and the second I touch dirt I spin out lose control and get past by 3-5 people
I personally think the best use of NOS is when you gearshift. Just a little burst of it will really help you stay in your powerband on the exit and if you want to cheat an extra gear in.
Its unbelievably how many still driving with full speed in to a corner to use others as a brake. Its a lot off fun to see others crashing when you brake early :D
I might be late on this video militia but thanks to your insight on the grand race i managed to mostly land within the top 5 or top 10 ( i have landed 3rd a few times now)
I have 230hrs in the game, my best was 4th which I got pretty often when I grinded the game, then I made a break which was bad for my top 5 streak, but I still manage to get top 10 like 60-70% of the time. I just want to see a podium and this video solved my problems theoretically, I just have to try it out now.
A video about the differences in the difficulty settings (what does what and does it help or slow you down) would be very helpful especially for us newbies ❤
either take away his inside line yourself or stay far outside and break well before the turn to allow him to dive bomb by you and then accelerate by him when hes in the wall
Rammers is by a landslide the biggest issue I'm having in Grand Races, especially in Alpha GP cars when everyone is always at max speed and slipstreaming each other Did finally manage to win my first Grand Race yesterday tho 💪 Was in the RB18 then the Silver Arrow and finished with the Taycan Turbo S (was using electric cars for the overtake without collision challenge)
Tip #8 If you previously crashed and are at a significantly lower speed than approaching vehicles, try to as best you can block the path that they are trying to pass you at. This will give you a great speed boost (because they are bumping you from behind) and if the player is less experienced it may mess them up. Aggressive driving may be frowned upon but if you are a skilled player it’s an incredibly easy way to consistently win races
For me, the tipp with the top half of the nos was pritty nice. I didn't knew that befor. I always wondered why the bottom half was red. Thanks for the tipp. An i think my concentration in such long races doesn't hold on that long. 😂
This is quite literally the most frustrating experience in the history of gaming. Not sure how people find entertainment in getting rammed off the track or into the wall.
I started unable to even finish a race half the time, I’m now on my 43rd win. Just utilize these techniques and throw your own twists in you’ll get better and eventually win.
I'm not sure if it is just me, however I struggle at driving hypercars. For example I was leading a race for the first 2 stints, then came hypercar and I dropped all the way to tenth. I probably wouldn't have won but it probably would be a podium finish. The specific car was the McLaren Senna, however that isn't the point. I'm wondering if you could please make a video about pro settings especially for hypercars, normal ones, not just the op ones as well as street 1, although hypercar is the priority. I love your content, keep it up and have a good day Trigger.
Or do what they do in GTAV Online racing, have an option for Non Contact. Everyone is ghosted, so if there are rammer, they go off course or into a wall.
My struggle is the start I get booted off the track and end up dead last fight my way the whole race just to finish under top 10 or same thing mid way in the race I pass someone clean and then he’ll ram me off the road for one spot then I finish bottom I’ve had 1 top 5 and a few top 10s but it’s always the ramming guys that make it not fun
Early in the race if theres a turn coming up ill just avoid the crowd position myself to be on the inside of the turn cuz i know everyone is gone smack the shit outta tthe wall on the outside of the turn shit be so damn funny
My highest finish is 3rd I mainly finish between 10th and 5th usually. I am good at keeping the line a lot of practice in gt5 helps. I just crumble under the pressure sometimes and try and take a corner too tightly to get past the player in front who took a wide line but it ends with them crashing into me and making no difference. I have also just subscribed because ive seen the Scirocco banner (my car)
Unpopular opinion: stay in last place in races that start with Rally/Raid and watch the absolute chaos I can’t count the amount of races where i see like 3 people go to the moon in like the first few minutes I play games for fun, not to win, though if i do win that’s fine
I was bit struggling on some corners that you can cut, grass, mud, etc,. even sidewalks, after you cut these corners, sometimes yeet you to the walls or off track, it was annoying.
Sometimes the path you need to take across the grass/mud is not obvious and you just need to learn where to point the car to come out fast/safe on the other end.
Trigger, an idea for a next video. Since there is no way to drive Grand Races tracks in single player, you could show the freedrive routes to make practice on. Of course there would be no checkpoint gates, but better than nothing.
My problem is that I can't control the car and it's going too fast, especially on curves. It spins very fast and I lose control of it and find myself off the road.
I just started this game and I'm struggling with boat races. I'm confused with the throttle feature, some people say pull down and some say push up. Either way, I can't seem to catch up with the other boats. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
My issue with grand racing is there’s too many players in one race and no playlist diversity in the game in general. I would like to use a motorcycle on the race track in a 8-10 player race with the pit stops but the only form of online racing is just a 10 min race with 3 different categories. Not everyone wants that kind of racing back to back to back maybe some people want to do a bikes only street race or the f1 cars on the track. Grand racing also needs a no contact feature because most of the frustration from racing in that mode is literally rammers and the amount of people in one race 28 is too many. It’s to the point where I don’t even like online racing on motorfest because of really bad drivers and no single tier online racing
I get in top 10 every Grand race if not the top 5 I'm going to watch your video just in case I can improve my skills. That being said the very first thing you said I disagree with to get faster you need to drive faster cars. The problem for most drivers in the grand race is there constantly hitting walls and other players the problem with having faster cars is it harder to control those so they're going to be hitting the wall and other players more often which in return will make them slower than what they currently are. If I was to give anyone a tip for the grand race would be to use your break you don't want to hit anyting weather it breaks or not. Fences chairs some trees the little rocks on the ground that move when you hit them. They slow you down not as much as hitting a wall or solid object. By the way a player's considered a solid object blocking that player for hitting him at all results in not only your opponent slowing down but you slowing down as well. And trust me the people that are used to being in the top 10 have already learned how to hit people or how to avoid it. If I know that someone's going to hit me I'm going to wait until sharp turn and then I am just going to reset and vanish right before their very eyes as they plow into the wall my car will already be reset driving past them as they're hitting the wall. 😅
one thing i struggle with a lot is that when im in the front group, they all boost ahead of me and i lose slipstream and i’m left to fight with the lower half of the racers i wanna know how to keep slipstream or atleast know how to stay away from the back of the pack
I’ve won the grand race 11 times now and not once have I won without one of the three categories being on the dirt. For some reason I’m a lot faster than everyone in rally and rally raid
My problem is keeping the car on the road. Keeping the car stabil after a turn and keep the power on the road and not spin the wheels and just keep sliding
I’m having trouble with motorcycles. I absolutely love them and I’ve been trying to make it work in grand races but I’m basically a dork in high school with a kick me sign on my back. Literally I have clips of people going out of their way to ram me. Do bikes stand a chance at all? Or should I just switch to cars 100%?
Very important, learn to break. I dont k ow why soooo many people cant brake properly, i always wish to start as last, cause at the first corner 10-15 kick themself out. Everytime a big laugh
Magnitism!!!! The hit boxes in game have this weird collision effect that causes crazy magnitism and its awful. Outside that its the rammers, i usually end up thrown off the road early on in atleast a 3rd of my races. Almost always get top 10 tho and a good majority top 5, i race with my little brother most the time and we rarely get a clean break with us both at the front but hes fighting for top 3 almost evry race and wins prolly 80-90% of them theres only about a 3% chance one of us doesnt win and weve had som awsome races to the line.
Highest ive finished is 2nd, and ive never been upset for not getting first. This isnt a game i take too seriously comp wise. Just get in it and have fun. Most the time ik im the better driver, but i dont run meta so its a bit to overcome starting in the back
I have minor nerve damage in my left forearm which affects how my left thumb, index and bird or middle finger work so i can not get on with sequential very well so im almost kinda stuck with auto, i know you can sort of force a down shift by blipping the throttle as you brake but you can not short shift up, any suggestions tips or cars that are better for us auto drivers? I'm getting 5th's and 6th's more often now so i'm improving gradually.
Tbh I need to drive auto more to really experience it however there’s a significant advantage for manual in this game but let take some time to drive it auto and see what I can come up with.
@@MilitiaGamingCommunitythe one immediate advantage I can think of with manual is skipping 1st gear, which is often nothing but wheelspin. But then again, Traction control is a must in this game. There are cars where the TCS light remains solidly on while in 4th or 5th gear.
I struggle with 180° corners. I dont get how to be fast there, i tried doing it sliding, doing it slowly with grip, tried also ramming full speed on the wall. It seems im always slower than the others there
(Sorry for long comment) I don’t have all the time needed to try and tune a car … make an adjustment and then try it and then repeat … is there a way you can breakdown your tuning process so we can all learn and adjust to what’s best for ourselves?? This was so much easier in NFSU lol
I got in first place one time in the actual race but I soon lost it cause I burned through all my NO2 outve the turn and I didn’t think to draft him lol. But I feel like it’s luck. Either the rear wnd kicks out in a turn, or the car understeers
Just finishing I can’t finish one I’ve been playing since the game came out and I’ve reached 99% but just can’t seem to finish i think I lose control to much and I’m not a rammer I think I have my difficulty settings screwed up
Primarily for me I get really bad anxiety with pvp races because of all the chaos which is fun at times but really stressful. Ik not an issue a lot of people have but i thought id throw that out there. Definitely a fun mode but not one that I’d play all the time.
I don’t get one thing and idk if it matter but does it matter if your cars are maxed out? I have fast cars but there not to the max prefer level when I join the grand races so should I get them max before I hop in them?
Blowing my nos i struggle with and not knowing when to shortcut and when to ride the road all though i never played pvp raving before i managed to pull off 10 th but always wanting to olave better so i play a little more to great video 🎉
Winning grand is depending on lucky in my opinion. I won once, few months ago (not in best cars) and never make it again. Only thing that makes me happy is that i achieved it without any assist and playing by gamepad. Now i'm using abs because braking in that game is like handling a brick with wheels. But can't win again. This race has too many players and is too chaotic. Your skills isn't only thing that you need to succes. You need normal players around you, which is hard when are so many of people playing in one moment. Counting they will play fair is pointless. Game is unbalanced too, driving perfectly and being a leader doesn't guarantee a win, because rubber banding makes players behind you pursuit you with much more speed. Usually this battle is failed. It isn't fair for player who make everything right. I think they should make races like the crew 2 has, grand need to be only addition to more traditional races.
Tip #7 USED THEM BRAKES. The amount of times I dodge people trying to ram me into tight corners is amazing/funny
When I get screwed over by someone when I’m in the front I ram them every chance I get just to ruin their chance too 😂

The go-to channel for Motorfest.
By far the most annoying thing is getting punished by other people's terrible driving aka getting stuck behind them when they crash/spin out. Fast reaction times are def needed but also a good thing to literally expect people to crash and think of how to avoid them.
Proximity chat would be hilarious in the grand race lol
agreed!
That happened to me, I missed first checkpoint with plane...
Sometimes it takes for ever to switch cars
@@SSLSX95man I think it’s cause of last gen support it brings the speeds down a little bit
I love when the person terrorizing you crashes, gotta give a lil *beep* *beep* as you fly by feels great 😂😂
Just got into motorfest and watched a couple of your vids and man this is super helpful. Especially with what cars are meta. I used what cars you suggested and went from 17-28th place to the top 10. Now I just gotta follow these tips!
I love how the thumbnail can be read either as Grand cant win? Race try this! Or as Grand race cant try Win? This!
I keep getting 3rd 3rd 3rd😭😭 but it’s mad fun so ion be tripping that much… Especially coming from 23rd in the beginning‼️
Bro i feel you same thing with me but qhen you finally break through and win your first one! Ecstasy!!! 😊
@@W7Bthe1stI can tell my boy🔥🔥
facts. i got this a week before i turned 20 and i was constantly placing top 15 or top 20. after about 2 weeks i started placing top 5th or 3rd constantly
I struggle most with skill lol as a beginner to the crew its frustrating that the grand race is the only option to play others. As a beginner in nfs i was able to win pvp some whereas this game is impossible for me.. the cuts would definitely help but would possibly get me into top 15 lol.. just hoping nfs comes back
Keep playing. It gets easier as time goes on. I will have a more detailed driving series coming in the next couple weeks. Working on it now.
Staying on the road seems to be my biggest issue I can’t seem to keep the car on the asphalt and the second I touch dirt I spin out lose control and get past by 3-5 people
Great tips! Good content as usual Trigger
Thanks for being super available on your socials for specific questions too, very appreciated
I personally think the best use of NOS is when you gearshift. Just a little burst of it will really help you stay in your powerband on the exit and if you want to cheat an extra gear in.
It’s a great time for sure!
A detailed video of pro settings and also, what is the best race to use to test cars?
My Daily Build videos talk about the test races I use. Pro settings video will be coming after I have more time with it.
Thank you!
A video about the differences in the difficulty settings (what does what and does it help or slow you down) would be very helpful especially for us newbies ❤
That’s definitely something I can make! Thanks for the suggestion!
One matter of topic is what I will call 'sharp turn kamikazes'
How do you react to a guy trying to divebomb you in tighter turns?
either take away his inside line yourself or stay far outside and break well before the turn to allow him to dive bomb by you and then accelerate by him when hes in the wall
Rammers is by a landslide the biggest issue I'm having in Grand Races, especially in Alpha GP cars when everyone is always at max speed and slipstreaming each other
Did finally manage to win my first Grand Race yesterday tho 💪 Was in the RB18 then the Silver Arrow and finished with the Taycan Turbo S (was using electric cars for the overtake without collision challenge)

Also make sure your hold to action settings are turned to press, it makes resetting much faster
the hair pins up the cliff in the rally raid are difficult
gotcha. im putting together a driving guide for each discipline that will address that
1:14 i love these roads for alpha gp
This is quite literally the most frustrating experience in the history of gaming. Not sure how people find entertainment in getting rammed off the track or into the wall.
I started unable to even finish a race half the time, I’m now on my 43rd win. Just utilize these techniques and throw your own twists in you’ll get better and eventually win.
Struggling with my take off speed, everyone passes me as my car takes so long to switch gears from the start
Great tips bro, needed this badly 🤙🏾 video coming soon to show how this helps!
This is a GREAT video for me, Im new in the crew family so this video help me to learn some tips.
I can get to the top 5 but eventually i will end up in the middle of the pack. Learned alot in this video though. thank you
Or do what they do in GTAV Online racing, have an option for Non Contact.
Unpopular opinion: stay in last place in races that start with Rally/Raid and watch the absolute chaos
I can’t count the amount of races where i see like 3 people go to the moon in like the first few minutes
I play games for fun, not to win, though if i do win that’s fine
I was bit struggling on some corners that you can cut, grass, mud, etc,. even sidewalks, after you cut these corners, sometimes yeet you to the walls or off track, it was annoying.
Sometimes the path you need to take across the grass/mud is not obvious and you just need to learn where to point the car to come out fast/safe on the other end.
I always have issues getting passed by the entire field on the start before turn 1 and I don't know why
I struggle with staying on the road, my car often will completely turn around or just slip off road for a second
Trigger, an idea for a next video. Since there is no way to drive Grand Races tracks in single player, you could show the freedrive routes to make practice on. Of course there would be no checkpoint gates, but better than nothing.
That’s actually a neat idea! I’ll consider it for sure!
I believe the most important thing they can do to keep the game alive is add MP modes. So I agree with you
I agree. I’d like to fly more, more monster trucks, more rally, more motorcross. ENOUGH with Hypercar and Racing already!!!!
one thing i struggle with a lot is that when im in the front group, they all boost ahead of me and i lose slipstream and i’m left to fight with the lower half of the racers
i wanna know how to keep slipstream or atleast know how to stay away from the back of the pack
I’ve won the grand race 11 times now and not once have I won without one of the three categories being on the dirt. For some reason I’m a lot faster than everyone in rally and rally raid
I have been cursed by this game as I always finish a race within the 16-18 place region.
I have trouble with the rally grand races taking those sharp turns back to back. I slip like im on a slip and slide.
My problem is keeping the car on the road. Keeping the car stabil after a turn and keep the power on the road and not spin the wheels and just keep sliding
If youre on old gen def turn off crossplay cus for some reason at the very beginning it lags so bad and half the lobby starts wayy before you can
How do I get the grand races?
The Gallardo is also vialble in racing category
All I have to do is drive a tighter line on corners so I’m not hitting the wall and I’ll fly right on by
I’m having trouble with motorcycles.
Definitely
For me, I think the best way it to just stay on the road.
Getting used to how a vehicle handles when fully upgraded with parts vs how they handle in the GR is a bit of a pain.
I struggle with 180° corners. I dont get how to be fast there, i tried doing it sliding, doing it slowly with grip, tried also ramming full speed on the wall. It seems im always slower than the others there
For me it’s the solid trees so damn annoying
I guess my big struggle is oversteering and still don't know a lot of cuts
(Sorry for long comment) I don’t have all the time needed to try and tune a car … make an adjustment and then try it and then repeat … is there a way you can breakdown your tuning process so we can all learn and adjust to what’s best for ourselves?? This was so much easier in NFSU lol
I’m working on a Pro Settings video for sure. Just wanting to make sure I have everything down 100%
I got in first place one time in the actual race but I soon lost it cause I burned through all my NO2 outve the turn and I didn’t think to draft him lol. But I feel like it’s luck. Either the rear wnd kicks out in a turn, or the car understeers
I mostly struggle at all off road races and staying ahead in these races.. i usually end up DNFing these races..
Great Tips, my problem is my lobbys are too sweaty lol 😅
Wait for the ranked update. They'll filter out soon after.
I played gran turismo 2 at 7 years old and even i raced better than a full grown adult does on grand races.
Is strugle with levering up so i can get legend points for slip from far away
My biggest problem is taking shortcuts then spinning out because Racing and Alpha class cars lose control on anything not asphalt.
Just finishing I can’t finish one I’ve been playing since the game came out and I’ve reached 99% but just can’t seem to finish i think I lose control to much and I’m not a rammer I think I have my difficulty settings screwed up
I need help with the turns
Primarily for me I get really bad anxiety with pvp races because of all the chaos which is fun at times but really stressful. Ik not an issue a lot of people have but i thought id throw that out there. Definitely a fun mode but not one that I’d play all the time.
Hi all, which legend points are recommended for grand races ? thanks+cheers !
Legend points aren’t being used in the grand race.
I don’t get one thing and idk if it matter but does it matter if your cars are maxed out? I have fast cars but there not to the max prefer level when I join the grand races so should I get them max before I hop in them?
Blowing my nos i struggle with and not knowing when to shortcut and when to ride the road all though i never played pvp raving before i managed to pull off 10 th but always wanting to olave better so i play a little more to great video 🎉
its the start it wont let me gear up and i be stuck on one gear for a while.
Well I’m on wheel, which imo is wayyy more difficult than controller.
even with launch control on when i start the race i’m slow asf i don’t get maybe it is a setting or sum
What’s the best difficulty assist for grand race
I turn to a side with my agera, for example and it starts drifting like a rx7, i js dont know
