Here, at the entrance to the portal, you think back to your journey since you woke up, and to those who have fought alongside you. Hey everyone, thought I would make a video on our journey leading up to the Final Shape, along with showcasing those who have been by our side all these years. I found it difficult to place certain pieces of dialogue so I thought I would turn the trailer into a collage. I hope you enjoy :)
Little fun fact: In editing the trailer, I muted all original audio in each clip to rebuild the audio from the ground up using sound clips I have recorded in the game so the pre-existing music and dialogue wouldn't appear, while still having the depth to the visuals audio usually brings.

You and me both. I'd love to experience it all for the first time again but also so much of the content has been removed, making it really hard for new players to get invested in the story

Destiny 2, the game that my boyfriend bugged me to play multiple times, is now my most played game. I put my heart and soul into the story, the beauty, the rush of adrenaline each fight brings.
The tears that Cayde-6 brought, that Amanda brought, that Zavala brought.
The celebration with my fireteam when I did my first raid, when we defeated Oryx, when we brought down Atheon.
The laughs we have when we mess around with strand. When we play together.
Destiny 2 has changed me as a person... and I'm glad to say that the community has had a big hand in that.
Thank you. ALL of you... for making me a better person, for making me smile, for making me the Guardian I am today.
Let us rise. One. Last. Time!
Reading your comment reminded me of all the memories I've made along the journey as well, meeting one of my greatest friends, meeting my clan mates and have life long friendships with them, giving me the courage and drive to pursue my dreams at University and helping me through dark times. A beloved saga that nears its end, its bittersweet to see something this long running go. This all comes down on june, our last battle to bring peace to the upcoming closure. We guardians have endured a long and interesting journey to defend sol. Now i shall too ask for guardians to rise up one last time. There will be Guardians who will take up arms to defend Sol, retake the Cabal homeworld, and face anything else that will threaten humanity, but for so many this will be their last stand, their last fight. The moment I first heard the cover by James Thistleton, I wanted to pair it with the original, and it was an absolute treat. January 2013…the first time Destiny shown its first trailer: the Law of the Jungle. Since then, I kept up with what this franchise would bring. It gave me unforgettable memories, enduring friendships, heartaches for the developers, countless times learning new things, I practically seen it all. All thanks to my older brother who gave me D1 on my 17th birthday (a month after the game came out), at a time when my depression was hitting me hard. Now, here we are. The path is set. To rally the calvary and charge in. One last time. To end the franchise with a bang. Traveller, here we come. Here goes nothing…or everything.
Destiny is a franchise beloved by so many Guardians and it's helped so many people in ways that most things can't. I, myself, have formed unshakeable friendships, persevered through school, college and University thanks to Destiny, and it even got me into collecting. We will see if Destiny persists afterward, but I do know that the journey was worth it. Now I ask you, do you think you can kill a "god"?

It really is a great cover. The first time I heard it I wanted to pair it with the original track and it works perfectly with it. What you hear in the video is a remix of both the cover and the original I put together

You know I’ve been thinking, Their bringing back The Exotic Khvostov in the final shape and IF we can get the exotic without completing the campaign then I want to get the exotic Khvostov because I think it would be cool as hell If we ended OUR Story with the very same weapon We started this journey with… Our first ever weapon - to ending with Our first ever weapon.

I've made alot of memories from my first exotic to my first raid completion. I miss playing with the friends I made as a new light. 😔
As someone who has played since the D1 Beta, it's always a treat to hear newer player's memories and experiences as it reminds me that my experiences are not the same as everyone else's, which makes Destiny so special in that regard.
I'm right there with you, I've made so many bonds and friendships over the years because of this game and, unfortunately, people move on and you don't talk as much anymore, but I will always cherish those moments with them

This game means alot to me and so many others. I have no regrets for sticking by this game throughout 10 years, almost half my life, through the high highs and low lows. It's all worth it. Really well said. So many people have made memories and friends who we will cherish forever because of Destiny. Although Destiny will (hopefully) not be going away after the Final Shape, we don't know what the future holds. But we will be there to meet it head-on.

_It has been many, many years, since I last saw my ghost -Otho. The trials and tribulations we faced together, still rest within my memories; guarded closely by those convictions which forged our bond. I was a Guardian, a defender, once upon a time; before the Red War; before the Taken and the rise of the Darkness .. I Was there, I saw and fought through it all .. and I did it with friends at my side. Now, they are all gone, and I find myself in a place of idle thought, wondering where my last old ally has gone. What stars do they hurry to now, which souls do they shepherd along their own respective paths? I do miss those days, I must admit; and I’m not even sure if my boots still fit, let alone if I could manage to muster up just one more nova bomb.. I’m not as young as I used to be, I don’t bounce back the way the younger guardian’s do; I’m an old Warlock now.. and I think my fighting days may be behind me. Yet still, i am not troubled by this revelation, because I know that somewhere out there; Otho is still hard at work._

Man have I made videos, and tried to reach the level you did with this. Inserting sfx and timing to the musical score, I am telling you I am shamelessly downloading this and totally not crying at the thought of it ending. Not because it should, but because it has to. Man this sent a wave of emotions through me. Thank you
It certainly takes time and effort to find the best bits that fit with the score and what additional sfx would best fit the overall piece, but that certainly comes with time. I've never taken any courses that specialise in editing, its just been me playing around with the software and making what I feel speaks to me. Might sound cheesy but your personal connection to the piece when editing can either make or break a project. For example, the scene where the Warlock is falling backwards after the character montage has been an image I've had since I heard the score, and the scene of Ikora, Cayde and the others looking at the camera is another. The rest sort of fell into place. And personally, I don't believe in final drafts. I can still think of ways I can improve this piece but I am still incredibly happy and proud of what it is and especially of what it has evoked in you watching it. Apologies for the essay but your kind words are a blessing to me and I cannot thank you enough. Its crazy how 10 years have passed by so quickly and I'm happy to have gone on this journey like you and so many other Guardians have ❤

Dude, I stumbled across this yesterday, and it hits so much feels. I half expected some epic voice over but this is better. God what a time it's been. Destiny may have its high and lows but it has undoubtedly been one of the best experiences of a game I've had.

I’ve never played destiny once but having watched very cutscene from every season: I nearly cried watching this, my dude you’ve earned yourself a new sub!

If you ever do get the chance to play, I'd highly recommend it! The gameplay is still incredible, the graphics still hold up, the destinations are gorgeous (I'll have another video showcasing the world soon, hopefully) and the story can be pretty good. It has its downs but when it's in a good spell, it rocks! It's time to confront the Witness and stop the Final Shape

The three campaigns are free until the Final Shape, I think Lightfall might also be included with PS Plus and this years seasons are also free so there really is no better time to start. I hope to see you in the wilds at some point :)

Been playing since i was 7 and now im a teenager, life is short
Life is short, but remember that you have another 60-80 years of life yet to fill memories with! Take the time to enjoy yourself and have fun with those you love :)
No. I think we’re just getting started.
Man, after all these years, all my friends moved on one by one. Now there’s just me from the old guard in D1. I remember creating my warlock for the first time on launch. Campaign was poo, but my naive self thought experiencing this universe with my friends was worth it. I had a buddy that played an Awoken titan, and my brother played a exo hunter. We did all of year one together, even got the Laura Prima II emblem together too. I took a break after slaying Oryx with them, and skipped Rise of Iron(come back to it eventually). I felt like I was done with Destiny, but when my buddy and brother practically begged me to play the Red War campaign with them, and so I couldn’t really refuse. That was a lot of fun too. Unfortunately, they’d both quit soon after Curse of Osiris. Our raid team too had been disbanded since the ROI, so I was alone for the next few years.
Here is where I really delved into the lore, and really got invested. I loved the universe, the characters, the music, the epic moments. It kept my love for it alive, carrying me to this day.
Now, as the Final Shape approaches, I see this video, and I’m reminded of everything that happened on my journey to this point. I shedded a tear watching this, felt a lump in my throat. I miss playing with my friends, I miss raiding with them like we did back in high school. Unfortunately, they swore off Destiny, and I don’t blame them at all, given what Bungie did over the years, and their slow and steady progression into greedy monetary schemes.
But despite all that, I still love this universe. I want to see this through to the end, and it looks like I’ll have to do it by myself…

There is no need to apologise. So many people feel the same way and they have also shared their stories and experiences here. It is a safe space 😁 That was a really lovely "Novel" as you put it, and it brought me back to my first fireteam. They no longer play the game but they are doing really well in life, thankfully, but I'm incredibly greatful that you enjoyed the video and that it allowed you to think back on the memories you have made along your journey.
Also, you won't be alone. Countless Guardians have expressed the same thing and I'm sure some of them would be willing to play with you. Plus, we're all rising one last time, together.

@@SolvedAlloy3942 i think something you really need a feel for is the cadence of scenes and what scenes to use. You definitely displayed that instinct, especially with the places where it goes back and forth. This next bit is mostly comparing to other edits but i think its worth saying- so many edits overdo everything and very obviously lean out of their skill range, *especially* with audio. They try and make the avengers endgame trailer, with the copyright free dramatic cinema music and the layered in voice lines that *always* have incredibly noticeable backround noise (extra minus when that noise is different music) and ultimately the editing issues compound with how hapzard and unoriginal the whole "dramatic blockbuster trailer" idea is in the first place.
What you have done is make something that in its simplicity feels more like a nostalgic walk through Destiny, rather than a cheesy trailer full of audio bugs.
@@Herobuilder21 Thank you. A lot, if not all, of the audio in the video is audio I went and found in other places of the game and synced them up as all of the clips have music, other sound effects and vo that would take away from the experience so I found other sound effects and synced them with the visuals. That and finding a good balance between hearing something and noticing something. Some sounds need to be present but not consciously noticeable. Instead, you have the sounds blend in so your mind isn't ripped from the experience straight away. For example, the entire first section where the ghost finds the guardian and they wake up, all the audio is from other places and not originally from the clip.
I wanted to make something that reflects on our journey before hitting that "Avengers Endgame" moment but not showing a lot of it as we will be going through that moment when we play it. I'm just glad it was enjoyable and wasn't glitchy or too bad xD

tbh, i want the final shape expansion has 2 endings, the first ending will be the original ending (killing the witness and prevent the final shape)

It would be cool to see multiple-choice options in Destiny. They tried it with Season of the Drifter's quest line but never went anywhere with it. There's always a chance they bring something like that into the game in the future but only time will tell

Love this! It’s a shame igc’s all play at 30 fps though. You can really see it on the slo motion parts. Doesn’t take away from the video though
It's one of the biggest downsides to it imo but I am so grateful you enjoyed it enough to look past it. Hopefully, Bungie will make the cutscenes 60fps or more but I highly doubt it. Understanding why they're 30 lets me know that they won't, outside of Raid intros.

That's really good to hear! I always strive to entertain and inspire :) It wasn't overly difficult as I've had a fairly decent amount of editing experience for trailers and editing to music/rhythms. If you dint have much experience then it might take a little while but if you do then it shouldn't be too hard. Bungie is fine with people who make fan trailers and content meant to entertain and inspire, so long as you don't claim to be Bungie, you don't claim to own the IP, and you give the respective credit either in the video or in the description. So long as you do those things, you should be fine. I look forward to seeing what you make :)

Destiny has the same problem as all Service games to much content and work is required to make them work if this Saga was contained to say four games One for creating, one for Building upon, one for changing everything we know and then the pay off it wouldve haven benn great

Yup. You throw three of them and then you and your team are able to pick them up afterwards and use them for a short time
I've always wanted a void melee weapon, sadly d2 is not supported on steam deck, i tried installing windows but made a big mess. One can only dream.

A very valid point. I do know that quite a few people will be leaving after the Final Shape so this will be their farewell. However, for those like me, who are staying, we're only just getting started ;)
