I am a senior and trying my first build, got an enlarged plan at Staples. Cheaper than all the plans I saw , so your video will help me thru I hope. I like the idea of thicker ribs like you have .

you do not use any kit for the construction of your models, like OcCre, Constructo, etc? How do you get plans for each model? How do you even begin with a model from scratch? Keep up the good work.

These hands are expert hands... This man is a rare kind of modeler, free of any instructions, only with the help of plans and his long experience... I wish he could live 1000 years to be able to pass is knoledge! 👍

nothing to learn here just a man and his efforts which seem to be highly qualified but nothing taught to the beginner

Anyone could give me a tip of where I can find the measurements of the pieces? I would like to start but don't know where to find this information

Not exactly what you are looking for but:
i recently wanted to build a 16th century medditeranian galley, and i just googled it. i found wikipedia and from there sources of italian and turkish museums. Those has 3d online-tours so i could look at the picutres of their models.
I also found a book form 16th century of a german who made very detailled drawings of the galleys.
I downloaded that book as pdf from a library, and imported to blender.
Made measurements there for the sails and masts etc to translate into my model scale.
Its not a full piece-by-piece instruction of course, but it was super helpful

Not much of a guide so far, just a montage or time lapse.

As a professional model maker (I build models of ships on commission...) my comment is this is not how to build ship models!! Look at the model carefully, not a jig to be found, frames are completely not "symmetrical" etc. etc.. Not even a cradle to support the model in perfect vertical position so that measurements can be taken from each side to make sure that the left is equal to the right. I dont see any frame markings as well, for example establishing the centerline of the keel etc..I don't know way this is on you tube. My advice for who wants to learn ship modeling is to watch the model makers from Russia....

Hello, I want learning and starting building ship models. after reading your comment, i saw you are very professional model maker.
do you build ships model from drawings or from model kits?
And you mentioned the Russian model maker, please can you give the link or the name of channel ?
      thanks you for the answer.

I'm not a ship modeller and came here purely because I like looking at scale models. You have to admit that his end results look like ship models, this despite the fact that he builds them differently to you. Perhaps you could upload a video showing your construction methods?

Is there any contouring required to do on the ships “ribs” before planking or just lay them where they go?
