Pls clear what's the use of mixed conditional when we have a definite structure of all if conditionals which goes very smooth as per rules of grammar.
The main usage of mixed conditionals is,
If something "had/hadn't happened" in the past, we "would/ would not have something" in the present
If I hadn't said yes to him, I would be happy - I said "yes" to him in the past. So, using the 3rd conditional
I would be happy - my present state but an imaginary one. So, we use the 2nd conditional.

Yes, it comes after the subject in affirmative sentences and before the subjects in question sentences.
Eg,
"Is he writing?"

Ma'am, using mixed conditional is making us break the grammar rules . How is it possible if I lived in Chennai , I would have missed that concert.
If I lived = imaginary present
I would have missed = imaginary past
