very very veryyyy helpful. i had the exact same problem since i bought mine and never got the chance to fix it. glad i got this randomly recommended. IT WORKS.
Ok, so I have a DDJ SX2 with a real laggy crossfader and for some reason it just randomly started to lag and the on screen display - constantly shifted it left, despite the actual fader being central. After updating the SX2 firmware, the drivers, changing cables, reinstalling Serato and VDJ8 and trying to remap the controller manually, I searched every forum available - but to no avail. But then I stubled across your video and followed your guide but on my SX2 and... IT WORKS! HALLELUJAH... PRAISE BE! You are my hero, thanks!
Excellent explanation, a question if you can help me I have an SZ but I am not doing well the cut in the croosfader, the song of the other deck is heard a little, because it can be this. Thanks if you can help.
ok i have this problem but im not using a controller im using OG analog tables and mixer. well phono. there is a curve switch with normal curve and quick curve, but when i use Serato i have this exact problem with the fader, trying to scratch, the fader has that slight bit of movement until the audio will cut in. when i use normal records (not pc no serato) the curve is fine. instantly cuts. but serato only lets you change the digital curve in the program if you use a controller!. any ideas?
one more question do you mess with the feeling adjustment on the crossfader when you scratch with the SZ2 just wondering I bought the Sz2 recently and this is my first controller and I normally use turntable and a mixer for the dj service.
Do you find there is massive lag on the channel faders? A channel can be nearly 3/4 way up before the sound really increases to a level that you would expect the sound to be. - I have spoken with Serato who say it's the way it is meant to be on the SZ2. It's nothing like my SZ
that seems to be a popular curve on mixers that I've used. I mix using line faders and I don't think I'd like a totally linear curve, although it would have been nice to have some adjustment to choose your own (as you do on scratch mixers).
GREAT VIDEO!!! How do you like the SZ2? Im thinking about buying it because I'm getting third of carrying heavy turntable cases? Have you played live at gigs with it yet?? How has it been using live?
i am having problems with the sampler in the SZ2. When i set the sampler to master, it goes thru more than 1 channel therefor it multiplies so if channel 2 fader is up it comes out channel 2 but if channel 2 & 4 faders are up together it comes out thru both BUT MULTIPLES THE SOUND which makes it louder 😭 i need help into making the sample come out thru master without multiplying.

This works on the sz1 as well, you sir are a legend

Thanks so much for the video I just got the SR2 and couldn't figure out how to adjust the cut-in lag. You're a lifesaver🙏🏼
Very good tip 🎼👌🏾👌🏾

I have an SB2 .... I know small lol but it gets the job done..... is there a way to get into user mode and recalibrate the unit ?
thanks for the update on the lag my latency is between 2-5 I should try out ur tutorial
Richard Umali someone mentioned it could be done but finding the info was a nightmare. it's a cool feature and more people should benefit from it :)

Richard Umali i couldn't find a screwdriver that would fit in the hole, so the tension is standard :)
are there any more hacks or preferable the website or script you got this info
Good morning, is this procedure the same to do on ddj-sz1? thank you
Dj Luigi Luiz I'm not really that clued up but i don't think it's a new feature, so most likely! it's not hard to do so worth a try at least :)

I only used it at a dj school, I used traktor gear for my gigs. It's a big controller, but pioneer is always good gear to use and serato is stable.

Will this method also work for the Pioneer DDJ-SR? My DDJ-SR also has that lag as well and I don't know how to fix that.
not sure bro, but you would probably benefit from fitting an innofader in that unit ;)
Did this on the SR2 and it worked
Did not work for me. Any other options?
Yes!!
