    I'm a wedding and mobile DJ who's been using Soundswitch for a few years. Love it.

    I've been using it for over a year and really love it. Nothing wrong with it but it's actually great.
    For me as a DJ, I only need more presets or ability to add more presets for autoloops and an easier way to copy presets or things I've done on tracks to different tracks (on another song perhaps) and the one thing is that light fixtures need to be there. Not all are but they are quick to add it. Just waiting for them to add one for a spider light that should have all RGBA controlled separately but otherwise, a great addition to my stuff. 100% recommend it and will do videos about it later on my channel.

    SoundSwitch it the best thing ever. I have had it for 2 years now. SoundSwitch is always evolving and listening to their users.

    As someone who cant run the lights or pay someone to, this is getting close to being what I need. I dont DJ so I am not sure if you can use audio files or not, but if so, this might work. What would be nice is after it automates a song, if you can click and modify a scene, and it updates it everywhere that scene appears in the entire song.
    I am still amazed lighting controllers all still require a human to run them in some fashion, no automation unless you are a midi band.

    I am in a hybrid electro-funk band and we play live using Ableton. I really want to create automated lighting for our shows. I had been looking into controlling lighting using midi and dmxis but just found SoundSwitch. Would you recommend SoundSwitch over using midi? Which way do you think would be better?
    Thanks!

    I would like to playback digital songs on my pc but would like to integrate dmx control to control lighting, what software is better and easier to do this with Soundswith or Ableton?

    so if I don't have a lighting setup in my room and want to view what I've created, can I see the visual of it on the software?

    I am wondering if this should actually be sold as windows compatible.
    For me the windows laptop option is not working. From the graphics card limitation, to multiple Midi mapping issues from the Pioneer DDJ-SZ I have. It just is not working as expected.

    does it works with artnet?

    So you are able to use a MIDI controller in performance mode while a DJ controller is plugged in and you're using it? So, for example, if I'm playing a song I've got autoscripted, I can use a midi pad button to play a static scene or autoloop? It would override the autoscript?

      I believe so, but I'm not 100% on that as I don't have a DJ controller myself.

    I read that soundswitch does not work with intel integrated graphics (which my laptop has)
    However, if i buy a midi controller, would soundswitch work with that instead?

    • @LearnStageLighting
      @LearnStageLighting  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's more of a recommendation, as intel graphics can quickly run out of steam. Adding a MIDI controller will do nothing to aid this!

      @@LearnStageLighting i bought it to test it out with my pc and laptop. On the PC (with dedicated graphics) it works awesome, on my laptop (with intel hd grapics) is hangs when i hit the "edit" button. Any suggestions?

    • @mykehart3488

      Nope it wont even install. You must have a non intel graphics card. I purchased it and had to return it. It will not work with intel integrated graphics which is 90% of windows laptops out there. Your laptop will need a nvidia or Amd graphics card to even install.

    Why do you not recommend it for a band etc

    • @LearnStageLighting
      @LearnStageLighting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's really designed well to work with DJ software
      ...and if you're not using DJ software to play music, it doesn't really work that well, there are better options for these other applications

      Would be good to know what you thought what is a better option for a band situation where one of the band has to operate the lights.

    I remember when this first came out and I like the concept but it needs to more simplistic since most DJ's are not too techie.

    • @LearnStageLighting
      @LearnStageLighting  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My opinion - it really fills the niche it's meant to serve well - the DJ who wants a really cool lighting show that is automated. If it seems to confusing, then you probably want to look at something more simple.

    If companies are sending stuff for free, you are not going to get an unbiased review ever. What you will get is an advertisement.

    • @LearnStageLighting

      Not true, in fact via the FCC rules we need to disclose affiliation, but I think my review is a fair assessment of the product. I've got some DJ friends who use and love this software, but it isn't for everyone.
