Great video learned something new. Bless Mitsubishi for their easy access covers. Thanks again for your efforts in making these videos.

Thanks a ton matey. Very little info on the Pajero available [ 2004 model]. Got this video by chance! Actually i have a failed fuel pump relay and fuel pump - was looking out for the location of these 2 components. Cheers from Dubai. Have a good day.

Good video. I'm just curious if you took a look at the old sender for interest sake?
I have a Gen 1 Pajero and my brother has a 2007 Shorty with the same issue you have in this video.
My Pajero's sender messed around a bit and then completely died. Being in South Africa I couldn't source one locally so I checked prices from Japan on amayama. With import duties it was going to be a painful purchase!!
Then someone on the POCUK group said it could be repaired. So I pulled the sender out, opened the rheostat and gave it a good clean with paraffin and an old soft toothbrush with some carb cleaner. This solved the issue as the little slide that runs up and down the resistor wire wasn't making proper contact.
Now I want to tackle my brother's Pajero and I'm hoping it is the same issue because it'll be a cheap fix. The Stealerships here have no mercy on the wallet.

@@paramaniacwolverine843 wow my friend amazing what you did 👏
Unfortunately I just threw my old unit away.
I'm glad you found a way to repair yours and hopefully do the same on your brothers car.
You should make a video on how to repair the sender unit to help others who might have the same problem .

Thanks for your comment. Sorry I don't have this vehicle anymore all paperwork regarding part numbers went to the new owner. If you contact your local mitsubishi dealer they will help you get the right part for you car 🚗 😉

Hi bro.. how much does it generally cost for a new fuel gauge sender unit?

@@SachinSabu hi and thanks for your comment . The price depends where you get it from. I got mine from the dealer and it coat £125 .
I have seen aftermarket ones starting from £80
Any good Japanese 4x4 parts place will have them in stock.
Hope that helps my friend 🙏

The fuel gauge was in the same position before you started , how did you know it fixed the issue..?? Also did you verify you had fuel in the tank ?

Hello my friend thank you for your comment 😊 before I did this job my car cut out. The gauge was saying I had a quarter of a tank but the engine wasn't getting fuel. I got 20 litres and put that in and it started. Still reading a quarter of a tank.
When I filled the tank it would show it was full but after going below half mark I knew I had less fuel in the tank than what it was showing. Because I always reset my trip counter in the past and knew what I'd normally get on a full tank.
I do now have a camera I can put into things to take a look but back then I didn't. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺️
