i have an ML3 Pro from 2020, what a great guitar for a good price. roasted maple, locking tuners, brass saddles, graphtec nut, stainless frets. setup was great out of the box. imagine the price of a gibson with these features.
As much as I love this channel and am a big fan of Pete and The Captain, not a fan of that Chapman guy, so would never, ever give a penny for his guitars.

Those are some beautiful guitars. The storm burst is incredible but I can't get past the upside down headstocks! Does the ML2 with a new headstock mean there might be change coming I wonder?
for me, the reverse headstock is more practical, also the shorter behind the nut thin E string makes it nicer to bend, compared to traditional 6 a side headstock.
Too bad the dual P90 version doesn’t come in a more, uh, traditional color with the fret dots. Sorry, I’m just an enthusiastic intermediate player who still needs the dots! Great review and boy they sound awesome.

It's a shame that Chapman guitars have their distribution issues and that Rob Chapman has his own issues because they do seem quite cool otherwise. Maybe Andertons should do their own line of non-tainted guitars...
andertons have a huge stake in chapman guitars already so you cant un-taint that. lee piled money into it at the beginning so it already is their brand though they try to hide it or "choose" not to mention it. they have stakes in other brands that they advertise on here too without telling us that their opinion probably shouldnt be counted as a serious one. if you want a good review, ask the end user. not the maker lol. andertons went corporate a while back when they did a deal with other companies to control the market, a tri-fector i believe. its all money. they make videos fun to watch, great, but its all just a big sales pitch. the only saving grace is that once in a blue moon, lee says, "its not really for me.. but".. i hate to say all this as i think they seem decent people but it is all true and theyre decisions are their own. i dont shop there anymore, its very rare that prices are competitive in many cases. i bought a strymon volante brand new in uk and andertons were my go to store at the time. they wanted 30 pounds more than other retailer. for what? they offered nothing more and i got a free extended warranty with the other retailer. shop around!

To me it looks like Andertons is a bunch of good mates having a great time running a successful business. I agree that the videos are for the purpose of sales - why else would he do them? As a consumer you have to read between the lines as you have to with any business. I don't think Lee shies away from this, he just makes it fun and more transparent than most. I also agree you should shop around - it is your money, so you get to choose where you spend it. As for other deals behind the scenes, I would be disappointed if he was not doing this. It is how you run a successful business. I think he gets to help people along the way - take Dave Simpson for example - march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream

These Chapman guitars seem to sound like they have a much wider range pickups wise. The older models always seemed kinda dark and muddy to me? The overall design seems much more concise.

Funny enough the reason I went with the Reverend is because I originally wanted the new Yamaha RevStar. But when I ordered it, it wasn’t going to be in for 8-9 months. And since I am an inpatient person, I looked for something different and I found it. The Reverend rocks.
Always love the look & spec of the pro Chapman guitars, but sadly many guitarist I speak with (me included) discount them due to the lack of fret markings on the fretboard. Is there a reason why Chapman don’t add them? A lot of us middle aged guitarists with a few extra quid to spend & who tend to play seated these days would definitely opt for a Chapman pro instead of other brands if this was included.
@@cosmikrelic4815 I’ve been playing 35 years, but am certainly no pro. Chapman are missing out on a lot of sales as many of us are simply much more comfortable with inlays. I have also bought and sold guitars for years and Chapman often get negative comments because of this. Sadly, we can’t all play as well as Rob. Wish they would address this oversight.

Interesting; I picked up a Chapman a few months ago and haven’t thought twice about the lack of fret markers on the front of the neck (however, they *are* present on the side of the neck). And I’m a chronic “neck-looker”
The 'T' style has modern play ability with classic a 50's and 60's vibe. Just the right amount of retro. These guitar will not date. No one will look like they have yesterdays guitar in only a couple of years. The price certainly wins a best value for money award.
Looked at the Chapman page and Andertons page and I don't see any information on the width at the 1st and 12th fret for any of the guitars, I don't understand why this isn't always done. You put a guitar in production and you can't grab a freeking caliper?

When Chapman guitars first launched they ALL had Seymour Duncan pickups and it was a great selling point as they were really competitively priced! Didn’t last long, the Seymour Duncan’s got dropped, replaced with Far Eastern pickups and the prices went up!
The only thing that lets all these different manufacturers tele, strats copies is they don’t have Fender on the headstock. I have headstock snobbery syndrome.
Its a pretty standard C shape profile on both models - slightly latter fretboard on the sparkly ones. All the spec is on the Andertons web site - links are in the description
I was quite excited when I saw a new ML-2 had been launched, then I saw it.. Sorry, but I'm now kicking myself for never pulling the trigger on the previous run, major reason for not to is I'm quite picky when it comes to figured tops, and if I had gotten a dud, I'd be bummed. These having lost the full thickness figured top is really sad.
I've been considering a Reverend Jetstream 390 because I wanted a P90 loaded guitar but might just have to get a Chapmn ML3 modern standard in rainstorm blue. Thats a nice guitar even if its not got the P90's I was looking for. Hell I just might even have to get both.
Unfortunately, since the whole Chappers debacle where he decided to lecture the world about his "on-line power", a lot of people dont want to have anything to do with Rob Chapman. People have long memories, and no matter how many times he has apologised, and appeared humbled, the Chapman guitars brand has been irreversably damaged. Which is a real shame, because the guitars are good. Perhaps a name-change to... "Andertons Guitars" (...as Lee has bankrolled the whole enterprise?)

He definately doesn't hate left handed players - pretty sure one of his kids is left handed. The issue is purely that each factory requires a minimum order quantity for each run of guitars. Simply put there weren't enough orders/interest on left handed models to do anything. That might change in the future & there are other Chapman models that are available left handed. I see a lot of posts from left handed players that think there is an agenda against left handed people - there really isn't - its just minimum order quantites - thats all. Sorry!!

Really like my ML3 traditional. I'm more of a superstrat player so it doesn't get much use, but every time I pick it up I think "damn, this is nice."

Just recently I got an ML1 Pro Traditional, and it is a terrific guitar! I'm a sucker for a reverse headstock!

yeah, it caught me out at a gig, no fret markers, poor lighting do not go together.
The reason is some people think it’s cool.
