My son, Reed Smith, died wingsuit flying in Switzerland last year.........He loved it fiercely and felt more alive than I'll ever feel........His community of fliers/jumpers are the most interesting, kind, "alive" people I've ever met. Reed lived more in his 44 years than most live in a long lifetime. I miss him every day but I would never have asked him to stop flying/living free.....that would be like asking him to stop breathing.
My 42 yo son Chris Alleman flys wingsuit, paramotor, BASE jumps and skydives. He was born with the yearning for adventure. Like you, I know he’s living his life to the fullest. I couldn’t make him stop if I tried. I pray… a lot! His hobby has made me more aware of mortality. I’m so sorry your time on earth with Reed ended. I truly believe we are all connected on this adventure we call life and beyond. Sending love ❤
It's always great hearing Jimmy Pouchert's voice, dropping his wisdom. That being said, don't be so quick to judge or assume that you live on the safe side of the street, folks. When Jimmy died, I barely had time to grieve when I got message from my uncle, Matt, who was like a father to me, informing me he had an inoperable tumor and had only 3 months to live. This was not very accurate; he passed 10 days later. Not 2 months later, my friend Mandy died from a seizure, leaving behind 2 small children. Neither of them were involved in activities that were even remotely risky. In the 2 years since Jimmy's passing, I have had fellow skydivers pass from cancer, heart attacks, and suicide. Death comes for all, and you have no idea when.
Had a friend die doing this. Dude jumped from everything that was high and could fly. Got into wing suiting and one missed config in your suit and it's game over.
Anoche lo vi, porque ami me da panico subir a un avión, pero lo mire, porque veo como son felices volando y venciendo el miedo, mi gran admiración para ellos, y un abrazo alos q han perdido un ser amado.❤
Amazing Doc. These people like to live in the limits and we must have the biggest respect for them as most of us don't have the courage to do it even if we want to.
@@stephencram3940 .... the apostrophe in isn't is because isn't is a contraction....two words combined...is and not, it is not for an abbreviation 🤦🏼♀️
When you don't have people that care about you, sure no problem. Otherwise, base jumping and wing suites are incredibly stupid. Especially when you have kids or a family.
Exactly, I couldn't ever do anything like this so long as I had family and friends I love. "It's about love of flying". OK, cool, but doesn't matter how much I love it.
It's also incredibly stupid to write comments about stuff you have not the slightest clue about! Touch grass and chill ... No one asked you if you would do it, if you wanna do it or what you think about it
As a commercial diver I fully understand those people I let diving due my age and I think to kick the bucket every day. I have a sad life...norhing seems to fill my existence.😢

Que espactáculo de documental, de lo más emotivo que he visto.
Omg...watched it and on every face there is a certain look they get....indescribable. A look of fate....fatality. amazing doc.
I was wondering when this would come out. I’ve waited years. Got to meet the camera crew for this. Great people.
When was this filmed?

No one is FLYING!!!! It’s falling or gliding.
did they all survive?
There just isn’t enough money…
Do you need so much adrenaline to feel connected and alive?
Yes, I do.

From indonesia here..

Couples. Base jump. Yeah not dangerous at all.
All the best pro's have died over time, doing this.
Tell that to Jeb Corliss and Steph Davis.
Miles Daisher and Sean Chuma would like a word.
Said from someone who I'd bet doesn't jump (and who doesn't know that there is no apostrophe in pros)
Actually there is. It is not a possessive apostrophe like Bob's thing. It it an abbreviation apostrophe like isn't when you shorten a word
@@stephencram3940 .... the apostrophe in isn't is because isn't is a contraction....two words combined...is and not, it is not for an abbreviation 🤦🏼♀️
To each its own! I rather go back on a combat patrol in Afghanistan vs. doing this type of freefall.

Once you start, it's Impossible to quit without major depression. I tried a lot of times.

Why did you do this.
You'd never understand
It's like a drug.
