Yeah, that's why (now) I test new lights first at ground level to make sure they will meet my needs before getting the drill and ladder out.
I lean towards lights that have a wired external solar panel so I can place the panel for maximum sun and have a light wherever I need it. Even in shaded areas.

Also Stucco is very difficult to drill through, very good strong material!
I've had to replace those lights every month. Been through 6 lights.
