    I feel like if you're considering a Case Trapper or Stockman because the heritage and history, but also realize you don't need three blades, this is the perfect little gentlemen's folder. I love it.

    Nice intro. Beautiful little lockback..With inflation going crazy $75 is the new $50,,, I have been looking at knife prices & some are up 50% compared to prices at the end of 2020 to what they are now 😲Great review on the 55 Thanks TK

      It's a quite a bit smaller, so definitely an easier carry so long as you can make it work for your needs.

    I have a model 55, and I love it. I just with Buck had made it more of a miniature model 110. It is essentially a Prince with a clip point blade.

    An Ebony 55 is my favourite Buck for carry. I just wish mine didn't have blade-play. 😔 Buck should up their game a bit.

    I got one recently for 50 bucks. Had to talk the guy down 5 bucks, and its from 2007, but it's in perfect shape.

    If you want a realy good knife try a Hunter Pro Victronox Swiss Army Knife twice the price of your Buck 55 but you get three times the knife with the Alox handle finger grip shape lock back with stainless clip and laynard Model M !

    I love Buck knives, but man have their prices gone up. I purchased 2 Buck 110’s for $29.99 each just a few years back, now they are double.

      Walmart had the 110 briefly for $35, so occasionally you might get a bargain price on them.

    55 is half of 110 mathematically so I guess half the size of a 110 was what they were going for. I've never handled one but it looks like a nice size.

    Nice review. I got one last summer at the Buck store in Idaho while on vacation. It was a factory second for only $30.00.
    The only thing wrong with it was the 'B' of buck on the tang stamp was a little soft.

    Will you look at Bökers Plus series slips like the Atlas or Celos ? If you get a good deal of course, there's also a SAK style MT called Tech-Tool City 4 that apparently is good

    I love the 110 and 112, but some reason this one never appealed to me. Of their traditional pocket knives, I prefer the 301 or similar. Not putting down those that love these or their similar ones, just prefer others in their line.

    My idea of a good working knife, shame we can't carry locking knives in UK, always felt safer using them, not to bulky and heavy for pocket carry.

    😉 The Buck 55 is so aptly named because when the interstate speed limit was set to 55, they also secretly limited the size of knife you could carry. 😉

    That smaller Buck probably would probably meet almost anyone's requirements for a practical EDC. However, I don't see why they couldn't just add a thumbstud to make it easier to open one-handed. Thanks for the overview of a great, small pocket knife.

    I have a 55 and it is a beauty but it is WAY overpriced No way it should cost as much as my 110 but it did!

    Oddly, this one is going for $5 more than the full size 110 at Cabela's...guess it just goes to show that most of the cost is the labor, not the materials. Thanks for the review!

      I can only guess its because of production quantities it drives the 119 price down a bit. I agree the 55 is quite spendy for what you get.
