This guy is other worldly in his ability to play the guitar. I mean just freaking unreal. I'm a decent intermediate player but he is a generational talent.
The real big difference between Matteo and other amazing guitar players is not that he plays with the right hand fingers, but that he can play any style at the top, he is a complete musician.
It's not just the precision he and his band mates play with, it's the creativity too. This song rocks - it's captivating - and makes you want to replay it over and over again. He's a heck of a talent but his band mates kicked ass with him. Let's hope there is a whole lot more to come from him over the years. Thanks!
I'm italian and I've seen Matteo live last week not far from where I live. I have to say the whole concert was mind blowing, and even older people in the audience were in awe even though some sections of many songs are a lot on the heavy side, almost metalish. Seeing him (and his two bandmates) live is really and experience AT LEAST comparable to seeing Steve Vai or similar Gods of guitar, I can assure you that.
...even old people in the audience were in awe...haha I'm an old person and there are many of us who still enjoy real guitar playing. I just saw Matteo on Feb 2, the show was over the moon. He did this song for an encore.
You know the old saying…….”Opinions are like a$$#€les!” Well, here’s mine. This guy is the best guitarist I’ve ever seen. No disrespect to Tommy Emmanuel, Al DiMeola or countless others but this young man does things I’ve never seen any other guitarist do before. He’s simply unbelievable!!!! And, he makes good music. Very easy to listen to. Also, I liked the word he used in his reaction as opposed to commercial. Accessible! Perfect description in one word.
these fellows are from another system.. Matteo is absolutely brilliant. So unique in his phrasing and clean as it gets.. i could listen to this stuff for ages and still feel pulled...
Bro , this explains Al DiMeola's comments about this young Maestro . His tone & timbre matches his next level technique ... Carrying on a legacy forged by Paco De Lucia , DiMeola , John McLaughlin & all the great Flamenco/Classical shredders .
I have a feeling the Trio will win an award for best instrumental of the Year very soon. Since they are on Tour right now they will write more songs just being together all the time. Steve Vai was 100% right to say Matteo is the future of the guitar July 9 2024
Pure unadulterated music. I discovered Matteo a couple of years ago and was impressed but not too much material available. This gave me the same giant goosebumps te same as when I heard MoonChild for the very first time. Exceptionally brilliant musicianship.
I usually don't listen instrumental music, but the tone of his guitar strangely and unexpectedly "talks" to me - and in a good way. He plays like virtuoso.🎉
One of my long-time friends randomly dropped a piece by Mancuso on me several years ago and I just laughed all the way through because he was - is - *so* good lmfao!!!

Niente!!! 😅
I just have to say am really moved by this. Such a young guy in a world of misery has chosen not to waste his time, but to deliver real music. This music has sentiments that only from southern Italy could come and you reaally feel it. He uses his unbelievable technique to express his soul, this is not shredding per se. That's why Beato does not yet get it 😅
Metteo also has the talent to do everything he does and it sounds extremely good. You don't find that with many other great guitarists. He has to have an extreme understanding of music and doesn't play crap together like other great guitarists do. He plays with his head and that's what makes him so strong compared to other guitarists we all know.

Jeff great reaction, Matteo is a fantastic guitarist and this is amazing composition thank you for this introduction to another super musician:) his style reminds me a little of Al Di Meola.I love the guitar and the sound of this instrument. I wouldn't be surprised to see Matteo Mancuso in a interview with Rick in a near future. RB always surprises me with new interviews of unexpected amazing guests.
The spaceship is about to arrive and bring him back to the planet where he originated from. And I disagree and think that was in the fusion vein. Yes, I heard some blues but definitely more fusion than blues. Its all good.
Matteo said his first single was going to be a tribute to his blues-rock roots, in the notes of DROP D single. He’s way better at soloing than writing music. His solos are easily 8/10. The album 3/10. Lackluster songwriting. It’s all common time. Common harmonies. Common chord changes. Literally the most unoriginal album I’ve ever heard from a popular solo guitarist. Highly disappointed. The bar is set very high and he didn’t even make an attempt to come close.
Matteo is on another level and not from this earth. Amazing guitar player!
