    People like you two thrive off the "allemansrätten"-law here in Sweden and its amazing to see how people are using it to explore. To us, the older population of Sweden, the Allemansrätten-law is like the constitution to americans. Hopefully the younger population looks at it the same way, something to be proud over and let others take advantage of for both mental happiness and stimulation for the body. I know this is 2 years ago but during these Corona times, i do think its more important now then ever to do something to remove yourself from the mentally challenge we face by being locked up at home. Stay safe.

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Nesta! Yes the allemanstratten law is great; definitely something worth protecting. I noticed how much the Swedes respect the outdoors; there was no mess or vandalism; the opposite of what happens here in the uk. I'm really looking forward to returning as soon as I can. All the best 👍

    Very happy that I stumbled upon this series. I am moving from the United States to Germany in August, and was skeptical that it would be worth it to bring my 4Runner (Hilux Surf) and rooftop tent to Europe. This series has proven that there is abundant overland travel opportunities all over. Can't wait to see for myself very soon!

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Kyle! It might take a bit more effort to find wilderness here in Europe compared to the USA but it’s out there. Germany is a good place to be, you’ll have north, east, west and Southern Europe to explore 👍.

    Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. I live in the US, in northern Minnesota. I have been lamenting the passing of favorable camping weather. You have inspired me to get out there and enjoy the late Autumn weather before it really gets too cold. Thanks again, and keep the wonderful videos coming. Happy travels to you both!

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it's definitely worth getting out in the Autumn weather, there's an old saying that goes 'theres no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes' which is almost true! The 5 minutes it takes to get into bed, and the 5 minutes it takes to get out of bed are the worst I find, all the best and safe travels!

    I heard what you said about going of season. But first week of September and 2nd week of October is the prime moose hunting weeks. Expect forest roads like these to have a decent amount of trafic as people posting up for the hunt.

      @Adventure-Outdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah we visited between those times, the last few days of our trip we saw a few hunters along the forest roads. Next time I think we'll visit before the hunt starts in September, it might be a bit warmer in late august too! 👍

  • @antonw-uw4ov
    @antonw-uw4ov 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The water in some streams is brown due to high levels of iron in the ground. It's safe to drink.

    • @wat_joe_do2179
      @wat_joe_do2179 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It's not from iron. It's from the moss it's been filtered through. Usually white moss. White moss functions as a cleaner, but gives the water that colour. If you put white moss and charcoal
      in a tube you built your self a water purification filter.

    Great video that made me fall in love with my country all over again! Hot tip (pun!) from a Swede: I'm like you - I don't like sleeping bags. The best thing you can buy to keep warm is sheep skins. Sleeping on the wollen side will help you stay warm and toasty. As with almost everything - nature does things better. ;)

    If I am not mistaken the waterfall is in Fulufjället National Park. I remember visiting that park about ten years ago with my future wife. We were doing a hike and we heard the call of the wolves in the far distance ... Unbelievable.

    let alone that top box. questions questions not even got the car yet lol.
