I think he's the current longest standing team principal, other than Franz Tost maybe. One of the most ruthless sporting teams in the world and he's still at the top. Although, Marko is said to have quite a controlling stake in the actual racing team, Horner does an immense job.

Horner is pretty much the perfect team principle for a top team. He's a great manager, he's cheeky at the right times and knows exactly how to get under your skin. Very easy to hate, which is exactly what makes him so great.
If anything he's the type of guy you always want to have in your corner, he will tell you exactly how he feels while simultaneously doing everything he can to give you all the support you need as a driver. Max and Perez are the perfect combo out of all the teams in my opinion and the fact they have Ricciardo back as a third driver makes it feel like there's good chemistry all around
Helmut and Christian saw something in Max's driving back in 2015-16 and they put their faith in him, gave him time to grow up, learn and mature... look at them now

Yeah I rewatched the first season a couple of times with people I was introducing to the show and was shocked at how shitty Gunther treated Romain Grossjean in the first season. Making fun of him publicly to the team etc

Working hard, speaking his mind and generally being quite reasonable, he deserves all the success hes getting after his dedication of the entire period of Mercedes dominance.
