- Don't touch that dial: We have an early review of the indie horror movie "Late Night With the Devil." Longtime supporting actor and versatile "that guy" David Dastmalchian stars as a '70s TV talk show host who's always in second place behind Johnny Carson in the ratings. In hopes of drawing more viewers, he invites a paranormal investigator and a young woman who may be possessed by the devil as guests, with unintended consequences. The clever and chilling film from Australian filmmaking brothers Cameron and Colin Cairnes suggests that we're watching the lost footage from that fateful episode. Co-starring Laura Gordon, Rhys Auteri, Ian Bliss and Ingrid Torelli. In theaters March 22, and we'll keep you posted when it's streaming on Shudder.

I loved the ending!!! I thought it was short , but sweet! Basically an hour and a half, it was the right amount of time to me. I like y’all’s channel.
Awesome! Thank you!
The Exorcist meets Network!
This is my most anticipated movie of the moment by far - thanks guys for being on this ahead of the pack!
Hope you enjoyed it too!
If I still had my 27inch Sony Trinitron I would love to see this movie on that.
Watched a screener tonight, neat concept and Dave Dast was strong in the lead 📺
Excellent! Totally glad you gave it a good review... was a teen in 77 so I remember how TV looked back then (the reference to filming on tape). Plus any positive comparison to BWP seals the deal
I loved this movie!! It’s ripe for audience participation. I could see people dressing up every Halloween, and going to see it, being Jack’s audience. I found myself wanting to clap along and cheer, and answer back to Jack along with his audience.
I think it’s going to be a classic.
That is a really fun idea!
Loved Special Bulletin - and it’s free on TH-cam!
I'm very excited for this! These brothers made a terrific horror comedy in Australia some years back called 100 Bloody Acres. The lead in that was Damon Herriman. He's a That Guy that a lot of people would recognize as Dewey Crowe in Justified or Charles Manson in Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.
WOW that was way back in 2012! What’ve they been doing for 12years? Thanks so much now I’ll be extra sure to seek it out!!!
Art the clown?
This was my favorite horror movie from last year. I’m so happy more people are now able to see it
I love Dastmalchian for being so effortlessly creepy and weird. Great in Twin Peaks The Return and the first Dune. He takes over Brad Dourif's role from the Lynch version -- and Dourif's the actor he most reminds me of!
Same with his characters in Prisoners and Dark Knight! Not surprised Denis and Nolan brought him back.
Really looking forward to this one! I thought this weekends release date was for streaming, bummer ☹️.
I guess I’ll have to wait a few weeks to watch.
This film BLEW ME AWAY!!!! SO COOL!!! And the line “oh , we go waaaay back” ( to Jack from the girl/devil ). Great delivery, and just a kick ass movie all the way around!!!
I loved it!! Black & White bits reminded me of Living In Oblivion
Just caught up to this. Something I thought was very cool was they did the “we’ll be right back after these messages”, then the director is like we have two minutes to be back on air.
I actually timed two of those breaks, and those black/white, BTS discussions were actually two minutes. Not like a bomb timer going off in two minutes, but then we get people yelling at each other for 15 minutes about a time limit they obviously missed. Small but cool detail IMO. I liked it.
Oh that is a cool detail, thanks for pointing that out.
Fairly positive reviews so far.
Interesting question - what are some movies that might work better has a TV episode? My answer is definitely M Night Shyamalan's Old or even Knock at the Cabin. Black Mirror, Tales from the Dark Side or Twilight Zone episode...
Christy how was the marathon?
She killed it!!!! You can find her results on the LA Marathon site!
4:30, great result tbh
Interested in both this and “Immaculate”. As someone who’s a horror genre fan I’m glad we’re getting two originals in the same weekend
let's include the first omen here.
And include Long legs
Immaculate didn’t feel original at all
There was an Inside Number Nine episode- game show horror, that’s similar to this. I get Alonso’s gripes but they didn’t bother me. Loved it, streaming on Shudder now.
Yup, 3x3 very good episode
Cannot wait for this film! Got my tickets. :)
Will enjoy it vicariously through you! I can't do horror LOL
Alonso meant to reference "Special Bulletin" not "Bullet"
This movie lol. My friend and I saw it the other night knowing nothing about it, all I knew was it that was possibly a demon movie and it looked like it was from the 70s, and has Dave Dastmalchian in it. Sold. We were sitting there laughing hysterically at the absurdity of the movie the whole time. So good and such a welcome surprise. I wouldn’t be shocked if other filmmakers try to piggy back off this a little bit.
I saw this tonight in the UK. Loved the whole set-up and how nuts it gets at the end. I also wondered why there was a camera roaming around backstage but I just let that go and went with it. 8/10
So glad you caught it!
First horror film 'found footage' was Cannibal Holocaust.
I’m going to add in that I am so glad I saw this in theaters! It was so immersive in theaters.
Christy is right about his eyes. The Dark Knight is one, but especially Prisoners he looked crazy.
There's something so quietly unsettling about him, isn't there?
Well they probably didn't have cameras with wide screen lenses backstage
Oooh, never heard of this. Thanks.
Loved it 8/10 for me. Agreed with all you said. Thanks as always.
i really dug this little movie that i didn't a thing about ... maybe too short , but i'm wondering , i love that the filmmakers embrace " The Bohemian Grove " and rituals that the conspiracy rats like me love too ... i feel like it could have been even better if the runtime was a bit longer cos we switch to real supernatural very quickly imho... but i also recommend it a lot... tx guys love you both ^^
Saw this movie last week twice and it's an instant classic
I thought the medium character could have been combined with the parapsychologist so the whole possession plot could have been established better. But other than that I thought it was pretty good
Wow, when I watched the trailer I def saw potential for it to be very good but those scores I did not expect.
I hadn't heard of this film. Sounds interesting. I don't have Shudder so I might just try and catch it in a theater. Also, nice to see David Dastmalchian get the lead in a film.
It is indeed! He's always good in everything.
I'm more with Alonso on this. Original premise though doesn't quite deliver the punch satirically or for scares. Brilliant, Oscar-worthy performance by Ingrid Torelli, though I doubt she'll be recognized. Neat twist at the end.
This wasn't on my radar and sounds great but I still need to see Dune. Which one of the two do you guys think will be out of theaters sooner? I don't think I can see more than one this week. Also, I hope you guys get a chance to see Snack Shack it's so good!!!
Probably not as good as Talk To Me, but still looking forward to it.
2 different types of movies, different type of horror
Talk To Me wasn't even that good anyway lol
@@tlovehaterfacts, talk to me was for gen Z, late night with the devil is top tier horror that can be appreciated by O.G horror fans
Wow, I was hoping this would be good... and it's only 1.5 hours!
This movie looks good
How did I instinctively know that judging how Alonso was talking about this movie that he’d end up giving it either a 7.8 or 7.9? 😂😂
This one sounds really good. 👍👍
Hope you'll check it out!
@@BreakfastAllDay It's been a while since I've really liked a horror movie and even though they re-used a lot of horror tropes in this movie the way they did it was very refreshing. 8.5/10
LOVE a fun cool buzzed-about little horror movie!!!! Btw Christy you might enjoy my friend Anthony’s LA Marathon run video on his channel Running For My Best Life!
Movie of rhe decade woop woop 🙌,midsommar is up there as is x a nd pearl 😀
I loved it…9/10
Seeing it tonight, though more an early evening with the Devil in my case.
Have fun!
I certainly did, @@BreakfastAllDay :-)
“Just saw this movie last night”, righteous throughly enjoyed it 🔪 👻 💀 🎃
So great! Glad to hear it.
@@BreakfastAllDay different experience polka dot man was cool you guys influence me even when I am not watching this, into my daily life in my city i love you guys but ecspecially you christy lol I’ve been following you guys for a long time too. Since what the flick 🤞🏽🛃💔
@@akidthatskates284 So sweet, thanks for saying so.
This is in my top 3 most anticipated horror movies of this year. I can't wait until I get to see it.
This is also a movie that I think works for a home viewing. Any movie I want to support, I'll see in the theater. But this film, with how it's shot, seems perfect for a late night viewing in the dark of your living room for maximum immersion.
9.5
Spoiler review, please! 🙏🏻. I have so many questions!!! 🤔. P.S. I love that Alonso is all like: "7.9" instead of just saying "8" 😂
We like decimals around here.
new pod, christy and alonso review movies, with the devil lol
neat
I did not care for it that much. It looked so different that I had to give it a shot. I have a bit of buyer's remorse watching it. The did go into some Bohemian Grove territory.
Alonzo and Christie I'm sorry if I am overcomplimenting you all the time. I just wanted you to not feel like you weren't appreciated. I know you don't always look carpet runway ready but I think you still take care of yourselves. I wasn't trying to make you guys uncomfortable.
Just saw this movie. Meh. Though I admire the effort, along with the time period I grew up in, I was kinda bored. Wish I had waited to see it on a platform.
Aussie flick again
Viewers don’t waste money,
The movie was very predictable, it had potential but quite boring 🥱,
Nothing profound, no background story to tie relevant details together.
