How many bands have members who are willing, able and happy to not only play with young folks doing their music but encourage them to go out and do their own, and theirs? That is why this music will outlast us all. I am glad for it!
It’s nice to see them play informally like that. Thanks for sharing. BTW, in keeping with his ‘family man’ persona, Phil has a small kids playground placed about 50 yards from that stage. After all the craziness of their touring, it’s gratifying to see that kind of wholesomeness survive the long strange trip.
Hands down, TXR has to be one of the greatest reasons to live in San Rafael. The profound generosity of the Lesh’s and the appreciation of that generosity by the TXR community is a magnificent expression of mutual grace. It’s pure bliss that emerges from a love of artist’s making, and audience’s grooving to, the music I’ve loved for a half century’s worth of magic moments. And, it’s always a special treat whenever Bob appears.
I was impressed how the scene thinned out by 97 and 98 seemed to get a little busier with the return of Phil but 98 was still nowhere near as crazy as things had been after In The Dark landed with MTV videos. Cops started busting again in 98. I believe I had heard about someone at Alpine getting caught with something like a quart or liter and a half of electric fluid. Smaller crowds really allow people to know each other better and to take the time together. If it is also a private campground then you can also be more selective and play music whenever the feeling strikes.

Of course, there's a guy next to the camera not shutting the F up as usual. If I was there he'd be next to me, a 5' guy smoking a cigar directly in front of me and a 6'6" guy directly in front of him..
Did Bobby leave a camera running on a lawn chair and say screw it, good enough for youtube?? Seriously, the footage is about as good as that disjointed, out of tune Stagger Lee. Sounds like at least 5 guitar players all not knowing the changes. Maybe it was early morning? I try to be positive but this is pretty rough. Still out of tune on the WLAFA and Bobby is one of the culprits. Plus he has his slide out, ouch, check please.
Friggin snooze fest. Nice wet farts guitar tone, Boobie Weird. I’ll go back to my 77 and 78 shows. (Nice muzzles on the audience and band members too).
@Candice Elizabeth exactly,I couldn’t agree with you more. we’re not talking politics or religion here. We’re talking virtue signaling . And we all know how Jerry felt about that. Been listening to the Grateful Dead since 78, still do daily. Bob and the rest of the boys either 1) need money or 2) are addicted to fame as much as Jerry was to Persian. I’m betting on 1. The industry of nostalgia prays on fear of change. I saw a great bumper sticker in flagstaff in 98 it read. “ Jerry’s dead, fish suck, get over it. I did see DSO for the first time in 2020 at the wiltern. It was the best “ dead” show I’ve seen since 91. Thanks for the reply Candice.
You'd think ex-hippies would question and defy the corporate media/pharmaceutical industries overhyped pandemic and not wear a mask. I guess they forgot the mainstream lied to them about the dangers of cannabis for years, and would do it again, all for money and control

I was just thinking how badly I need to visit, and it's been way too long since I've seen my Marin brothers and sisters!
How much did this cost to view?
makes me consider relocation.
I love how three songs take 45 minutes. It's so GD.
Those kids SURE know how to jam...😎👍
Some outtakes from the soundtrack of my life….Thanks for making it so beautiful…
From being scared about getting arrested in the park for playing, to owning your own little park to play.
Looks like a house party with a backyard stage. Love it
Amazing and thank you for sharing Jared. playing in the band really was magical. And it reminds me of why i want to see them hundreds of times
Thanks for sharing Jared

Tears of Joy..

Such a small venue. That must have been incredible!
Thanks 😊 this is fantastic.
The fact that the entire place isn’t jam-packed is absolutely mind-blowing…

Great video ! especially the part with the 🐝 !
Is the poncho Bobby is wearing a real Mexican poncho or is it a Sears poncho?
Is it a rancid poncho?
After touring with Mayer it's probably a designer poncho.
Bobby took it from Mayer and said "you gotta earn the right to wear this shit cowboy" Mayer was like "Yeah, word. Ok"
under his Mendocino beano?

Good Thumpers , A dying Breed . . . ..
Bobby traded in his shorts for a poncho! Lol
And the band played on and on and on and on and on and on and...
Fantastic but it's hard to hear Phil in the mix but there's lots of interesting instruments added. The playing jam is heavenly
nice show
Looks like a retirement community show 🤣
SO MUCH BETTER THAN DEAD AND CO. !!!!!
So Bobby CAN still play at a relatively close to normal tempo......
