Welcome Back To The Day 2 Learn
When someone asks you about your thoughts on the Lexus SC300. At first glance, it looks just like any other JDM car from its era; simple, sleek design, two doors, and plenty of room for aftermarket modification. What is certain, however, is that the SC300 is one of the hidden gems of the JDM tuner market. This is especially true in the case of the 5-speed manual configuration of the SC300, of which only 4000 were made. This makes it rare, especially in this day and age, and difficult to find in decent condition. However, some thorough searching and vetting can still be done if you intend to buy a second-hand SC300. There aren't many around, but a handful are still available with less than 100,000 miles on the odometer. From sharing parts and components with legendary JDM cars to provide a better performance experience than the other cars in Lexus's fleet, it's time to unravel and analyze just what makes the Lexus SC300 such an underrated car.The SC300 was not the first iteration of the range, however. The first in the range to be released to the public was the SC400, heavier but with a V8 engine, in 1991. The Sc300 was released a year later in 1992 as an in-line six-cylinder alternative. Later on, the manufacturer also released other relatively well known models such as the SC430 and SC500.. In this video, we are looking into Why You are WRONG about the Lexus SC300

Proud owner of my 98 Sc300 and I love it. When I got mine, it sat in a garage for over 5 years. It was literally a barn find and it did need some work. After a full restoration of the car, paint, suspension, full tune up and exterior mods. The car was perfect again. It’s my forever car and I love the attention it gets when other enthusiasts see the car and know exactly what the car is!

I loved my '95 SC300. Switched it for a '98 in 2019. Some engineering improvements in the '98 - also some cost-cutting such as lesser grade carpeting. It's AT, but now 5-spd. AT compared to earlier 4-spd. A tad more torque & quicker off the line. Only 54,500 on the clock & drives like new. A wonderful car in Many respects, not the least of which is the natural smoothness of an inline-6 (vs. a V-6). Just got a new set of Yokohamas - excellent ride! 'Love this car!!

  • @pixelnazgul

Bro, this car is lower to the ground, and less tall than a supra. While supra is just a lazy GT car. JDM interiours of the time were all boring, so their "luxury" is actually just normality.

1997 5spd owner here. Love it to death. Great visibility with the long doors. It feels like such a big car until i park next to anything new. Not very practical but it makes up for it in smiles. I'll admit I've been eyeing 90s JDM crown wagons
I honestly have no idea how its not more popular but im not gonna complain. I met an older lady with one and wel talked for a while. She got it new and all her friends didn't understand why she still had it.
Good condition Automatic sc300/400 still seem so cheap for something so comfy and reliable.

I have both. 92 Lexus SC300, and 92 Lexus SC400. I will tell you all that it’s not an inexpensive car to maintain. I got the 92’s because of the non interference engines. Love them both. But without a turbo, the SC400 is more fun to drive.

@@theday2learn thank you, the SC300 is my project car. I’ve replaced the engine and racing suspension. I’m looking into the turbo interchange. But both are very nice comfortable cars. Decent stock stereos, that are difficult to wire in a aftermarket stereos and still keep the functions. For a 92 vehicle, they’re very nice cars. I inherited the SC400 from my father. So I keep that one how he wanted it. I also inherited his 83 el Camino with 523 hp, and his ford f250. We have 8 cars. It’s a lot of maintenance and upkeep, but they’re all worth it. I see my SC like a Japanese corvette! LoL. Good luck, I hope you can find one that’s still in good condition.
