I'm feeling lucky, I'm "Like" #13. It has been some time since I last applied a speed change to a segment of a video. I didn't think about using ease in/out. Now there's the the best hint in this tut.
It's raining here in Pennsylvania today... and I am in slow motion speed.... so I want to be even lazier today so I am learning to slow my video self down. Thanks again for my Saturday Morning programs ! Will be watching speed up videos before end of June because I gotta be ready for fast action when I visit my Grandkids in Tennessee :) GramGram aka Polllyanna
Thanks Maliek. Another outstanding tutorial for a useful feature. I wasn't clear why the formula limits you to 20%. Is there a reason the clip couldn't be slowed down to 10%? That may not be a simple questions, but I wondered about it when I saw the formula. Thanks again. You're the best!
No problem. Sorry I didn't explain that further. You SHOULD only slow down the video to 20% if you are using a 24 fps timeline and the clip is 120 fps. 24/120 = .20 or 20% If you slow it down more than that (say 10%) it will begin to skip frames. The higher your clip fps the slower you can make it and without skipping frames (buttery smoothness). This is why higher frame rates are recommended when doing slow motion. You percentage limit is based on your timeline fps and your clip fps. 60/120 = .50 or 50% 30/120 = .25 or 25% 24/120 = .20 or 20% 30/60 = .50 or 50% 24/60 = .40 or 40%
When I try to make a speed ramp and click the Ease In and Ease Out boxes, it greatly limits the amount of speed I can apply. Is there a way around that other than not using the Easing? I'm using PowerDirector 365 version 21.1.2401.0.
hello. i have a problem. As i'm editing my video and i want to split a part out, and then i rewind it to see the results, why do i hear twice of the same audio for? and its literally only happening when im splitting a clip of the video
I have no idea. I have never seen that behavior. You can contact CyberLink for assistance using the program by going to "File > FAQ & Send Feedback". You can also try asking for help on the PowerDirector Forum. If anyone on the forum has had this issue and fixed it they can help. forum.cyberlink.com/forum/forums/list/ENU.page
Probably just as well the motorbike rider slowed down at that point........there were cops hidden in the bush with radar speed detectors, ready to nab him! LOL
If you are going to speed.... do it on your birthday.... when the speed enforcement officer sees your birthdate on your license is that day... you might only get a warning. So thankful that on my birthday a few years ago...... the officer was merciful !
Depends on your frame rate that you will produce to. I show you how to calculate it at 2:45 in the video. Produce frame rate divided by clip frame rate = speed percentage.
Hello Maliek, I'm a little confused with the fps on the timeline. If my clips are 60fps and If I have 30fps on the timeline, does that mean I have to produce my videos to 30fps or can I produce them to 60fps? Or do I have to change my timeline to 60fps? Sorry I just found out today that I can adjust the fps on the timeline. 🤣 My main interest is to produce my videos in 60fps
@@BYMProductions509 I explain why you need to have a specific timeline frame rate to get smooth slow motion in the video. Are you asking for a different reason?
@@PDU_Tutorials I was just wondering if there was another reason to change the fps on the timeline other than the slow motion. I just want to produce the best quality possible for my videos.

Thanks for the guide.
Is there no way to control the smooth in/out curve ? That would be really neat.
You’re welcome. No way to do that.
Just got this program time to put it to good use.

thanks again.. is there a video showing how to add timeline marker? usually in my music edition software I can press m to add a timeline marker.
You can do the ht click and select marker and there’s also a shortcut. th-cam.com/video/6jU4np5_hBU/w-d-xo.html
@@PDU_Tutorials thanks bro you're amazing
Nice and simple. What's the difference between using the action camera centre and the speed settings in power tools? 🤔
You have more options in Action Camera Center (ease, freeze frame, reverse, etc.) and the procedure to change speed is different.
@@PDU_Tutorials I'll try that next time. Cheers Maliek. 😁

Hey powerdirector.
How do I, download my power directed 16 ultimate using my product key🔑?
No idea. You should contact CyberLink for support.
Thanks. It looks like the duration of the "ramp" effect is about 2 seconds and that there is no way to change the duration.
True
i have purchased cyberlink powerdirector and running in pc... will it be run in mobile as well? With no ads and watermark..
Please help
No. You have to pay for it on mobile through a separate subscription
thx for info. is there anyway to slow down video gradually until it stops completely?
Use speed and change the speed as you which then use a snapshot of the last frame of the video.
Hi! Can i make a 30fps video to look smooth slowmo? Hope you can help
Cs all 30fps smooth slowmo tutorial use adobe and i only have powerdirector
Not that I am aware of.
You can slow down 30fps down to 80% if you are using a 24fps timeline but it won’t be as slow as if you were using 60 or 120fps.

CrapTube?
Is it possible in PD 18 ?
Still rocking PD 12 here.
If 18 has the Ease In/Out feature in the Action Camera Center then it is possible in 18. I no longer have 18 so I can't check.
Yes. The same settings, ease in /out work the same in PD18.
whats the point? much easier to do POWER TOOLS then VIDEO SPEED, much faster and easier
Way to take it slow...
Yes we do! 😃
