Every harbinger were around the coffin since Signora is dead they used Signora's fire butterfly as standing next to her fellow Harbinger around 3rd descenders body
I agree that the 3rd Descender is likely the Abyss Sibling. Or rather, the Missing Sibling, because I don't think the "Abyss Sibling" is actually the Traveler's sibling. Nahida says that the Abyss Sibling randomly showed up in Irminsul's records in the middle of Khaenriah 500 years ago, and that they aren't a Descender; in Khaenriah, Rhinedottr was experimenting with creating artificial humans that share properties with the Twins, and we know that the Missing Sibling was in Khaenriah for some time. I think that "the Abyss Sibling" is a successful clone of the Missing Sibling, and that the real Missing Sibling was killed and turned into the Gnoses. It adds a sort of thematic tragedy to the Archon quests. Each nation has the Traveler visiting and searching for their sibling, only to leave once the gnosis is gone. They're following a crumb trail made of their sibling's corpse without knowing it, and every time they grow close their sibling slips from their fingers. They've been getting so close to their sibling this entire time, and they never even knew. Edit: Now that I think on it, how old *are* the Gnoses? We saw from the Archon quest that the Thrones distribute elemental authority, not the Gnoses, as the Hydro Gnosis is still around and functional even after the Hydro Throne has been destroyed. So it's entirely possible that the Archons didn't receive the Gnoses until 500 years ago, which would explain why they're so eager to give them up - they empower them to the level of a dragon sovreign, but aren't the source of their elemental power. (It would also explain how Ei can slice an island in half without ever using her Gnosis.)

Not possible for the sibling to be the gnoses, since they only came to teyvat 500 years ago. Archons have been there with the gnoses for over 2000 years. The third descender is not the sibling
Now I am inclined to think that the sinner is the part of the third descender's remains that wasn't used to create the gnoses, especially its will and consciousness that thirsts for revenge against celestia that tore it apart.
That fits so well with Deshrets story and what happend to Gurabad it also mirrors how Liloupar reacted when she was lied to. We know Khaenri'ah was located in Sumeru what if Deshret comes from the same race as the traveller the original khaenri'ahns the others could be another cycle by the worldformula meaning they are not pure khaenri'ahns but the traveller and Deshret is.
Something interesting that was mentioned in the 4.2 AQ is the fact that Skirk talks about how they have tried to communicate with the humans but something is preventing them and they are trying to warn them about something. Also another interesting detail is that if the Gnosis are the Authority of the elemental Dragons + the Body of the 3rd Desender and the idea of the 2nd who came, that means that he was really the one who stole the powers of the dragons, since the Gnosis and Visions only began to exist in Teyvat after the Archon war, since both Mona and some books in the new Fontain Zone mention that elemental powers can be used through Hydromancy, Pyromancy, Geomancy, etc. and the people from the Narcizenkoits Organization were capable of using these arts and did not possess a Vision. Also in Neuvillette's character story in the visions section, it is mentioned that these are a law imposed by a higher authority than Celestia or something like that and this is a way in which those who have authority over the elements They have to share some of their authority with those who are worthy, regardless of whether their ambitions are good or evil.

I do have a feeling we are gonna see the Cryo Gnosis sooner than we expected. As Natlan's Final Act "Resurrection of the Ode" might probably hint that they will resurrect someone in this region. Knowing that the No.1 Harbinger, Capitano is already in Natlan, I suppose that either he brought all the Gnoses (along with the Cryo) considering he is "The Captain" making Natlan the final place to resurrect the 3rd Descender by getting all the 7 Gnoses together (along with Pyro, after Murata loses in an honor fight with Capitano) with some ode/poem to be performed. We might see the Fatui's plan of collecting the Gnoses succeed and its aftermath in Natlan. Then, Capitano will request the 3rd Descender and 4th Descender (Traveler) to join him in Snezhnaya to do the finality of the plans along with Tsaritsa. Waging the war like before but now with another descender that will raise the chances to win against Celestia, the Traveler.
I do believe there is chances Paimon is the main body of 3rd Descender without the elemental powers because all of her powers and memories are lost and divided into pieces, the 7 Gnosis.
Plus, because Paimon's design looks like chess piece and she has the "omni" symbol in her chest which means she could also control all elements in Teyvat

A few points to add: 1. The line about the fragments of the Primordial being driven to devour one another could in fact reference the Archon War, meaning that all gods we know of are fragments of, or descendants of the Primordial One. Venti, for example, is a child of Istaroth who in turn is a Shade of the Primordial One. It also explains and contextualizes the Archon War, as wasn’t it waged in the first place to see who would gain a Gnosis, and eventually be the ones to answer humanity’s prayers in lieu of Celestia? 2. I’m not completely sure if the Dragon’s power directly = power within the Gnosis. While I agree that pieces of the Third Descender were used to create the Gnosis, I don’t think that they necessarily contain the Authority of the Dragons. Neuvilette was able to become a fully fledged Sovereign without having to crack open the Hydro Gnosis to do so, and he’s still the Hydro Sovereign even after giving the Gnosis to Arrlechino. But as for why Skirk says they’re unlucky objects is still uncertain. 3. The point you made about the Second accidentally bringing dangers of the Abyss with them makes sense in context of the All-Devouring Narwhal, and how its boss items allide to how there are these cosmic beings in the Universe that devour dead worlds and stars, and given how the Narwhal was devouring the power of the Primordial Sea, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that the invaders that came did so to devour the world. 4. Unless King Irmin is somehow immortal, i’ll be quite surprised how Lumine (Abyss Sibling) is still considered a Princess even though she may have been in Teyvat for thousands of years. Part of the reason why I kind of doubt she was there for that long is because I find it weird how she has thousands of years to look for Aether if she landed far earlier and yet was unable to until Khaenri’ah fell. Also, Skirk says that the identity of the Third Descender was probably something not worth remembering or knowing based on Surtrloki’s words, and if this is assuming that Lumine was the Third Descender, this doesn’t match up. Given how Surtrloki and Gold were likely prominent members of Khaenriah, it would be odd how they would consider Lumine’s aka the Third Descender’s identity not worth remembering. And also Nahida and by extension the Fatui don’t consider Lumine a Descender, so her being the third won’t match up. 5. Now that we know what the Gnoses are, it’s likely that the Tsaritsa is planning to resurrect the Third Descender in some way, and most likely King Nibelung too, as these entities were the closest to toppling the Heavenly Principles, but it seems likely that this is going to fail. I don’t think that Paimon is some sort of spy for Celestia, as Focalors entire plan was to fool them, and Neuvilette had told Aether and Paimon the entirety of what happened, so all the secrecy would have been lost. And one thing I just remembered, a possible hole in the theory that the Three Moon sisters were the Shades that died doesn’t add up, as the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles is likely the Shade of Space and was still very much alive by the time she cursed the Twins. But those are just my thoughts. Amazing video, as usual! I would love to see you do one talking about the Abyss Order, given how Skirk and by extension Surtrloki make Khaenri’ah and the Abyss Order stupidly OP in context. The Narwhal alone could have destroyed Teyvat by itself had Neuvilette not regained his Authority, and yet it’s merely a pet for Surtrloki. That, and how Gold had created multiple nation-destroying Dragons of her own, makes me wonder what the Abyss Order has in store, as we get so little lore about them compared to the Fatui.
The gnosis are fragments of the descender and the archons authorities. The 7 divine thrones are the dragons authorities. Remember this: The victors in war, earn the right to write history and the losers are forgotten. This statement and the existence of the Irminsul and its influence tells me that you cannot fully trust what the records say.

I do think King Irmin was immortal given his mythological inspirations (King Odin), but that’s just my presumption for now. • In regards to the abyss sibling not being considered a descender, it may have to do with the heavens “responding to the summoning.” If Celestia allowed them in with the sole purpose of killing them and collecting their corpse, they may have added them on to it. But I do agree it would be odd for Surtalogi to say the identity isn’t important depending on how important Lumine/Aether are on the grand scheme of the Abyss and not just the Abyss Order. However, I find it odd that any of the descenders wouldn’t be considered important. • It’s possible that the sustainer was one of the moon sisters given her pale skin. And if you pay attention to when we first encounter her, there are two other smaller stars on the sides, which may have belonged to the two other moon sisters. But the idea that the moon sisters even died could just be attributed to some details most likely being stretched. Since we know the Sustainer is dying (via the direct chinese translation of the traveler’s character story), the moon sisters may have just been deeply wounded and are now in the process of dying.
I think the reason why Skirk says they're unlucky objects is pretty clearly shown by the situation in post-Archon War Liyue and Inazuma. The wrath of the slain gods like Orobashi and the metric ton of slain gods in Liyue the Yaksha had to clean up and purge had massive negative effects on the lands and the people. I would imagine that the remains of a Descender, someone with similar power to the Primordial One and the Traveler, would contain considerable negative wrathful effects.
From what Skirk said, it seems the Narwhal is one individual of a species rather than just a singular entity, and considering everything we know about it, I think it may be related to the Leviathans of Honkai Star Rail.
What is driving me bonkers is where did Neuvillette come from -what were the details of his rebirth? His origins? Did he spring from a clam shell like the male version of Venus (there’s an image, lol) and that’s when Focalors found him? Did she free him from some prison somewhere? (cough Scylla cough) I’ve been trying to find details to his existence before Fontaine and it’s like HoYoverse forgot that part. He just was brought by Focalors one day and there you go. So frustrating.
i think they're planning to add neuvilette's origins during 4.2 AQ furina's flashback, but since the AQ alone is already super long, it can be a drag to put it there. Maybe in furina's 2nd story quest they'll do that
pretty good recap and theories. Just wanted to add that: - The Archon War started around 4000 years ago. Guizhong died 3700 years ago when the Archon War was already in full swing. I also believe that the 'primordial fragments' are all the general gods littered around Teyvat, such as Decarabian, Andrius, Orobashi, Havria, Guizhong, Morax, Rukkhadevata etc. - Since the Abyss Twin is recorded to be 'from Teyvat', I don't think they can be the Third Descender. - My belief is that the 'great war of revenge' is the second attempt of the Dragon Sovereigns against the Primordial One, and the Second Who Came actually helped the Primordial One in staving them off, almost annihilating Primordial in the process. The 'functions' mentioned would be their shades, with only Istaroth remaining. This would make sense, since we have evidence from Sal Vyndagnir (Dragonspine civilisation) that suddenly Celestia barely to never responded anymore and their Heavenly Envoys disappeared too. Aside from that is that Istaroth is the only Shade we've had some stories about, first of all that Venti is related to her and that he kinda sorta co-ruled with her in a way? and Istaroth helped Makoto with the whole Sacred Sakura shenanigans.

I agree mostly, but zhongli is the only one we hear has descended more than 6000 years ago. Descended from where I wonder. an artifact says that when Rex Lapis was still young the sun was still in the sky in a chariot(does this mean he was born in teyvat?). I have a few theories, like either he is a fragment as you say, or like venti , a child of a shade or , since those two seem to be contradictory, is it possible to have ascended(to the first crlestia) and then descended? personally I see his lore a bit following a few head of gods(crysos or whatever you write it as is a spirit of gold , a supposed son of Zeus, and his back symbol looks similar to the symbol for gungnir, the spear of odin, or the spear of heaven; not to mention he is the head of adepti and that symbol can have him represent the center, the emperor or the yellow dragon) so I wonder if he isn't similar to the traveler. We don't know his actual name either, I think Celestia attributed these demon names to them when they became archons so it's possible all of his names are fake as well, like how we can name the traveler whatever else. but this one is beside the point. my theory I followed about zhongli is that he might be a descendant of a shade or a descender, but we still don't know all the facts about the descenders yet, so I'm curious who will they be revealed as. the man is a walking secret and I wish we'd know his deal cause I have a hunch he might know something about the very early past. honestly idk, sometimes I feel it's all so much lore and don't even understand anything anymore, just stuck in a loop of info
As for the Abyss twin they very well might not be the third descender since they were created by Khaen. Which caused it's destruction for creating a human or something that's beyond a normal human. Our actual twin is the 3rd descender which died and got turned into Gnosis. But then again another possibility for the 3rd could by the one the Cryo Archon did love. Afterall she was said to be the Goddess of love.
This may be a far fetched theory, but hear me out. Adding on to the theory of the “DEAD” Third Descender, whose corpse remains were used as the basis for Teyvat’s Gnosises, I honestly think it is the Traveler’s sibling. Both characters display affinity of the elements. Which explains a lot, and the similarities does entail a very dark foreshadowing in the future. Remember that Nadia tells us that the Traveler is the FOURTH DESCENDER, and that your sibling is NOT a Descender at all, since you were not shown in Irminsul’s records, yet your sibling was. This brings me back to a theory that I’ve had since the end of Summers’s Archon quest. And it’s that our ACTUAL SIBLING is DEAD. The actual sibling that we were traveling together across the stars has been dead this entire time. And the sibling that we saw in the “We will be reunited again” quest is actually not our sibling, since that “sibling” was shown to have been recorded in Teyvat. But not US. In other words, the sibling we saw in the beginning of the game (I’ll call him/her sibling 1) and the sibling we saw in the ‘We will be reunited’ quest (sibling 2) are TWO completely different people entirely. Sibling 1 is DEAD. and is the THIRD Descender, just like you, except you are the Fourth. Sibling two is alive, but they originated from Teyvat. Which explains why they have been shown in the Irminsul, and you have not. Anyways, that’s just my theory. And if it turns out that I was correct, that is to say your true sibling at the start of the game has been dead this entire time? Then holy…. That would be such a dark plot twist and a half, even by Honkai Impact standards. Also, this does obviously entail that there may be some multiversal story element at play here that has or has not been revealed yet. That would explain my theory in regards to your actual sibling being dead and you literally seeing your “sibling’ in Dain’s quest line.
I don't think it means that the traveler's actual sibling is dead. I don't think Mihoyo has the balls to write that story for their casual audience, but I don't play Honkai, so I guess I don't know. The information in irmunsul isn't only deleteable, its fully changeable. When Scaramouche erased himself, a new version of how he came to exist was added into irmunsul. The same could be going on with the sibling. If the sibling erased themselves from irmunsul but they are still around, somehow irmunsul could rearrange things to give their presence an (incorrect) explanation that has them originating from Teyvat.
the siblings arrived in teyvat after the archon war, there's no way for them to be the one used to create the gnoses. plus, if nahida refers to us as the fourth, then that means there is some sort of information on the third descender, and if it was the sibling she would've told us

It's not impossible for time to work differently ...
4.2 Archon quest has given us huge multiple lore bombs and they are giving me goose bump.I had the same theory about Abyssal siblings being the source of the Gnosis. As for when they arrived to Teyvat, the clue is in the first cutscene of Genshin, where it shows Aether and Lumine arrived at Teyvat as a star, which also shows them passing Venti huge statue and also Li yue. This could mean that they do arrived after Archon war. But there are possibility that Traveller memories also has been altered as well. Thanks for this video though.
are we sure the dragon authorities are linked to the gnoses? ever since the 4.2 quest, im thinking its actually the 7 divine thrones rather than the gnoses. Neuvillette mentions that the Archon needs to disappear to gain his full dragonhood, can a gnosis really make an archon disappear tho? idk, but it seems very unlikely given the archons give out their gnoses like candy. can a divine throne make an archon disappear? well, we saw what focalors did. completely destroying the hydro divine throne, and returning Neuvillette's powers to him, I say this because only when Focalors died can you truly see Neuvillette regain his authority, visually in the cutscene. and most importantly, I also say this because when he was talking about it with Focalors, this specific part: Neuvillette: ''The destruction of that divine throne... if I do not misunderstand your intent, you must be...'' Focalors: ''returning what's rightfully yours to you, of course. In other words, this was all done to return the authority of the hydro archon to the hydro dragon of this planet.'' the choice of words really suggests it's the divine throne in my opinion... as well as learning where the gnoses actually come from, it's no longer a secret to question if its not dragon authority then what is it? well, remains of the 3rd descender, and so whatever the heck that means.

The Traveler (whoever we choose) is a descender. However, it seems that the sibling is not. Nahida said during the Archon Quest that the sibling of the Traveler seems to be part of Teyvat, since there was indeed a record of the sibling in Irminsul. That is, if I remember it correctly. I'm leaning towards the 3rd descender as the Sinner.
But its possible for the information in Irminsul to be changed, so its not out of the question entirely. Its definitely very odd for one twin to be a descender from another world while the other is from the world of Teyvat like Nahida said. Especially since the traveler says they used to travel to different planets with their sibling.

But we saw two memory change from irminsul till date .so it's actually not that reliable ... It's not possible for twins to be from different race..if one is descender..other has to be .unless .that twin is actually replica of the original one... It would make sense why our twin is so cold towards us after meeting for so long ... Maybe that "bonding" that traveller is experiencing for this twin is planned to fool them into completing their journey ..for what reason .dk... We have to wait to see that
@@soujiokita6062 Also if you rewatch the genshin teyvat storyline, there is this line where the narrator said, " The god goads us on with the promise of their seven treasures. Rewards for the worthy, the doorway to divinity. Yet buried in the depths of this world lies smoldering remains, a warning to those that dare trespass. THAT THRONE IN THE SKY IS NOT RESERVED FOR YOU. " The smoldering remains meant the gnosis,, and the one saying that throne is not reserved for anyone is most likely the heavenly principles warning the traveler that if he dare trespass, he'll suffer the same fate as the 3rd descender, his sibling. And in the same scene where the narrator was saying " yet buried in the depths of this world " we can see a bunch of inteyvat flowers which was the same flower Lumine has in her head indicating that the 3rd really was the sibling.
@@Kenzznz I don't actually think the traveler is the third descender. I don't think the sibling we've met in game is fake. I've not played any other games by Hoyoverse, but my impressions from this game so far tell me that they wouldn't make our sibling actually be dead. I think our sibling is a descender, but they may be an uncounted one. Its possible they were the third but then aren't being said to be the third after erasing themselves. But if they changed their history in Irmunsul, it makes sense for them to be uncounted. So they aren't necessarily one of the four. That leaves it open for the third descender to be someone else.
Here is what we know so far: 1. The archons we met value the gnoses as if you'd value a love letter from your ex who dumped you and revealed they cheated on you with your bestie. Hell, ei barely touched the thing and nahida was ready to destroy it 2. It holds the authority of sovereign dragons of its correspong element. 3. It also holds pieces of the 3rd descender. 4. They were given out 3000 years ago after the archon war had its 7 winners. Meaning lumine and aether arrived 2500 years after the war so they were 2500 years later than the 3rd descender at least
Lumine and Aether could have first arrived much earlier than that. The main character's journey begins 500 years after the sibling had their own. There's no reason to think that the siblings journey started right after both of them arrived in Teyvat. Both siblings were captured by the unknown god at the beginning in a similar manner. We don't know how much time has passed.
Great theories once again! I loved this archon quest and all the lore reveals. It has breathed new life into the lore for me. I’m with you on the third descender being the Sinner. I want to say that the last act of Natlan’s archon quest incandescent ode of resurrection will be about reviving him after they receive the pyro gnosis. The Tsarista having a love theme makes me think she was in love with the Sinner.
Given all this massive lore drop it seems more likely now that the "usurper" did not create teyvat, It was created by the real "heavens" within the light realm, the dragons just being the most powerful representatives of the 7 elements that teyvat revolves around. "functions damaged" sounds more like the usurper was actually a construct of some sort, and given that the gnosis seem to be devices as well the 3rd descender could have also been a contruct, which could imply that the first 3 descenders actually all knew each other and were sentient constructs of a sort. The usurper was overriding the original worlds programming with it's own control mechanisms which then were damaged because of the vengeance war with the second descender. However it was the third that was destroyed and salvaged for parts. It seems that one of the actions of the second who came after damaging the usurper was to force the "shades" to destroy each other (mind control of some sort). Then at some point the third came and the first two allied to take down the third. I still think the second who came is within the "sinner" crystal and mind control is one of his powers. "breaking through the shackles" was undermining the usurper's control over teyvat. As for nibelung, it's possible when he went outside teyvat to get help he was infected by the very thing he was trying to use to fight the usurper so when he came back the forbidden knowledge came with him. There is a slight chance that nibelung is the third descender and it was him who was destroyed and his fragments turned into gnosis. (which could mean nibelung could use ALL the 7 base elements) Although i'm not sure about the timeline here.
About the Gnosis being the authority thing- I don't actually think that's true. (I know I commented something like this before, but bear with me here-) You mention the lines Skirk says, but the thing is, there's a bit of missing context. Skirk says, "I can finally catch the scent of your (Neuvillette's power)...what it's made of. It is the authority of the planet's primordial dragons but with something very similar to a god's curse mixed in, it's quite the novel blend...You should have the remains of the third descender on your person, yes?" To which Neuvillette responds that he actually had the Gnosis on him during that moment. Before he was advised to be rid of it. Given his full power was returned to him by the destruction of the divine throne, the Gnosis likely isn't it. Also, it's interesting how Skirk mentions the power of the gods (divinity) being a curse...

I was confused when thinking back on it why Focalors had to kill herself but that makes sense now if that's the case. The issue is, I also remember Nuevillette saying something along the lines of the gnosis already helped him accomplish what he needed to and now he doesn't need it anymore in his reasoning for why he handed it off to Arlecchino. I'll need to watch a replay of the Fontaine quest at some point to get all this sorted out.
That whole "gnoses are made from dragons" was falsified in 4.2 but people can't let go of it. in fact it was falsified in the new Wings even before 4.2 because it says the gnosis came from -- well it seemed like it said the Primordial One but - not from a dragon that's for sure. It seems gnoses have nothing to do with dragons. At all. When Neuvillette's Vision story says the PO was wounded it presumably means in the war with the 2nd throne as this was already widely suspected considering how the behaviour of Celestia changes such a lot and the lines saying "the keeper is fading, the creator has not come". If you'll note it says the PO was wounded in the war of "vengeance" that is the second dragon war. Not the first. In the first war they didn't have anything to revenge yet. There's a gap between the two wars while the dragons regroup and get allies ("Forbidden Knowledge"). Had the PO been wounded in the first war I doubt it would have been able to win the second which was deadlier by far. People really like the idea of the Traveler having seven elements at the beginning for some reason. But it's simpler to assume they simply have an energy of a higher order similar to (or exactly the same as) Abyssal and Celestial energy. This would allow Traveler to absorb elemental energies and use them, which is exactly what we see. Traveler can only use elements they have met and absorbed. Thus any abyssal or celestial creature can do this. Simurgh is able to absorb Hydro and Dendro energy. The Baptist can use 3 elements. Not to say that all aliens can do this as for example Aloy and the Rifthounds cannot. But it's easy to see why a lot of outlanders can manipulate many elements if they are armed with a higher order element, meaning they are armed with the ability to absorb Teyvat's elements and -- perhaps -- this ability is useful across many planets out there across the universe to enable a star faring alien to fit in on any planet easily. 5:05 you say the PO couldn't absorb elemental energy but this contradicts the idea that the PO took much of the Sovereign's power. Yes ever since the word "descender" dropped a year ago I assumed descenders were people who could change Teyvat's fate and therefore, as a group intent on doing exactly that, but one trying to kill the Traveler, the Fatui must already have a descender of their own. This now appears to be the third descender, whom they will try to revive by gathering all the 7 crystal fragments of the original crystal. Classic anime plot. I think all theories about "Celestia is using X to track what's happening with Y" is void after the Masquerade. Chronologically the 3rd descender comes between around 8000 and 3000 years ago so the traveler who married the Seelie (which is probably just a legend) is out of that range. You're also assuming that the 3rd descender was split up involuntarily. This game is thick with gods sacrificing themselves for their people. I think the 3rd descender volunteers to use their life force just the same as Guoba or Makoto or Rukkhadevata or Furina or Deshret or Andrius. When Neuvillette's Vision story says the PO and another worked to make the gnoses that other is the 3rd descender. 1st and 2nd are still enemies.

And according to the legend, the seelie situation even predates the existance of the Adepti, meaning it took place at least 3700 years ago. • The Primordial One took the sovereigns power, but that doesn’t directly mean It absorbed it. It could have simply been like someone taking a gnosis. It could have also just put the Sovereign’s power into something, such as the gnoses or Celestia. The two are likely connected since the Gnoses draw power directly from Celestia. • The examples you gave for people voluntarily giving their life were in trades or to save the entire world. However, the Third Descender was a corpse, and there are no current mentions of them teaming up. Neuvillette’s vision story says the first and “the one who came after,” which would be the Second Descender rather than the third.

I have a theory When the Sustainer split up the twins at the very beginning, she didn't simply separate the two - she sent them to two different versions of Teyvat where one sibling is a Traveler and the other is the Abyss twin Why? Everything points to the fake sky and the reveal that the Abyss twin was recorded by the Irminsul despite the twins both originating from outside the world of Teyvat. It is possible Celestia could have created a puppet twin that would land in Khaenri'ah, explore the world, and later command the Abyss around the time the other twin began their journey. Both twins' journeys are occurring simultaneously for some reason in worlds separated only by the fake sky thought to be where the abyss exists. The Abyss itself could serve as an antibody of sorts, preventing the barrier between worlds from being infringed upon, hence its complete decimation of Khaenri'ah during the cataclysm, and its constant presence across Teyvat. The Abyss twin most likely is a manifestation of this antibody that is meant to distract the Traveler twin from putting all the pieces together and breaking the barrier between worlds to find their sibling to oppose Celestia
I think the Twin used to be the Third Descender before they died, that would explain the similarities to the Traveler and why they are not counted as a Descender anymore. It's because the Twin has died and been registered by Irminsul, which means they are now part of Teyvat's History.
It reminds me of the last phrase in Dainsleif lore speech video in which he says he remembers how ‘she’ too loved these flowers. Extremely ominous, talking about his companion, the lost twin, like she doesn’t exist anymore or passed away.

i know this might sound crazy but here a two ideas i got for the 3rd decender : 1. what if our twin was the third but then got killed by the unknown god and their remains where used for the gnosis but perhapts one fragment got away and got into contact with abyss power somehow wich gave it enough power to reform their human shape wich might also explain why maybe why their not recorded as another desender . 2. I think my problem with descenders = moon sisters is that it really doesn't close out the bunch of holes of their supposed connection with seelies. and how that is supposed to mirror Shades. I feel like forcing all Descenders = Moon Sisters = Shades... feel pretty half-arsed. and we don't even know how to see the dragons here: were they just collateral here? or were they implicit from the start? I feel like the plot is still holey. bcs yeah they only lore-dropped recently. We have to wait.
Sorry if it wasn’t clear, but I’m saying the 3 moon sisters are the shades of the Primordial One, the first descender. If so, that itself would explain their connection to the seelies, since the moon sisters would have been the 4 lower-gods of the seelies’ overall god, the Primordial One. And although the seelies worshipped the moon sisters, they worshipped the Primordial One above them, which is why the Goddess of Flowers proclaims “Praise be to the Winged One.”
Yes I agree I think descender is just a label for a person that travels outside the firnament. The shell the Primordial One put around Theyvat to keep things out presumably. If my theory is correct the whale went through the firnament also labeled the "fake sky" so there should be a hole to the other side, were Skirk was able to get to Theyvat. I think the third descender is Deshret. We know Deshret obtained forbidden knowledge and that knowledge was to powerful for Apep to handle, he lured Apep to swallow him whole we don't know the meaning of that did he gain some of Apeps power doing that, what was his purpose? He was one of the first that defied Celestia by refusing his Gnosis. It fits with the symbolism if the remains of Deshret is within the very thing he refused from the gods.

This just gave me a crazy idea. Focalors said that she split her divinity away from her body and left behind whom we call Furina (in order to deceive others you should deceive yourself). What if the unknown god did the same and split her self into a smaller version of herself and that is Paimon. We know that Paimon trusts the traveller without ill intentions. But what if, at the end of the story, Paimon learns the truth about herself and she ends up unintentionally betraying the traveller. That would surely scar Paimon. Also Nahida hinted in the Sumeru AQ that if she destroyed the gnosis, it would alert Celestia. They would make that possibility out of nowhere so maybe that would eventually happen in the story. And so, my theory might also happen in the story since we learned that Gods can create smaller version of themselves without any memories
i feel like paimon is aware of her past though, at least to some extent, like during that one quest when she refused to enter the door, or how she had the flashback of bad memories when touching the rock. she is intentionally hiding her past from what it seems

The third descender cannot be the abyss sibling since in "we will be reunited", she is alive and well. Also, all the gnosis existed LONG before they arrived on Tyvat.
the fact that we found some information on our abyss sibling in Irminsul, makes me question, perhaps the sibling we meet isn't exactly our actual sibling, rather a fake one or a puppet for someone behind the scenes. not to mention, if the abyss sibling did traverse Teyvat, i would assume they also collected the elements from each respective region, why i do not yet know but i'm assuming they did. possibly Celestia used this elemental energy to power/create the gnosis. in the caribert quest, the sinner talks to us and possibly our sibling which i also think may havee been a preivious desender waring both of us idk. but mostly the fact that our sibling, but not us can be linked to irminsul makes me question.

This truth about the gnoses makes me wonder if the 7 knew what they were. Then again if Neuvillette didn't know (who's even older than Zhongli), maybe they didn't. Then again when it comes to Zhongli, I can't help but wonder if one of the reasons he made that contract with the Tsarista had something to do his gnosis. Maybe he had an inkling of what it truly was since he's very smart after all.

I like the idea of the Sinner being the Third Descender. Rn it seems like "sinner" is a label The Heavenly Principles/Celestia applies to Teyvat beings who have committed grave transgressions. The most recent example of this is Egeria, who committed Fontaine's "original sin" of creating humans. The Sinner is worshipped like a god, and the Defiled Statue is treated as an idol of the Sinner. He is essentially the "Anti-Archon." And, in a fitting twist, this false god's body would be the origin of the Archons' "Authorities", with his "consciousness" encased within a crystal. Maybe the Sinner sees the Traveler/their sibling as a conduit to revive himself, as they both have similar elemental properties Considering the Fatui's ties to Khaenri'ah through Pierro, maybe they and the Abyss Order have a shared goal of reviving/creating a god to overthrow Celestia, but they differ in their approaches. We do know that the Loom of Fate operation involves creating a "Mecha-Osial" (it still sounds kinda goofy lol), while the Tsaritsa's desire to collect the Gnoses might be to restore the Third Descender's power. Maybe Dottore's "Scara-mech" was just a prototype for this plan?? It was powered by a Gnosis after all

I got a theory if there's a third descender that can use all 7 elements so that means she/he is our twin because on the upside down Statue quest our twin said "I already travel this world once" and that means she/he is the third descender and we are the 4th descender
the archon war happened before the twins ended up in teyvat. also they traveled the world while the traveler was knocked out, but they still ended up in teyvat at the same time

Since it's been confirmed we can destroy the thrones, I'm more inclined to thinking that the Tsaritsa would destroy the thrones all in all. If she can't return the elements to the dragons, she'll break them all and plummet Celestia to the ground instead, making it reachable and therefore can be fought. Also, if the archons can be set free by it, I'd love that. The gods have all suffered. Who knows, the Archon War might get re-enacted, this time, with Zhongli and the others fighting for themselves against a common oppressor that's bound them to their seats as "gods".

You can't trust the information in irmunsul to be accurate. We know it can be changed, so this is easily explainable. The bigger issue is whether we can trust Skirk's information that the third descender is dead. She is otherworldly so she's not relying on irmunsul for that information, so it seems more correct. But that has to be weighed against the oddity of the main character's sibling not being a descender when we know they used to travel with the main character in the past. Perhaps they are a technically a descender too aren't being counted because they had their record in irmunsul changed. So that could still leave the door open for the third descender to be someone else while the main character's sibling is still a descender too.

Its not impossible that Skirk is wrong about the third descender being dead, but she isn't from Teyvat so changing irmunsul wouldn't affect wherever she got the knowledge from. My theory at the moment is that the main character's sibling is actually technically a descender but they aren't being counted as one of the four descenders because they erased themselves in irmunsul. That leaves the sinner as the best candidate for being the third descender still.
We don’t know for sure how it teleported us yet. But since it’s “otherworldly”/universal, it may have just teleported us to a place in the Abyss (or inside of it) like how Abyssal things can create portals.

• The dragons’ elemental authorities may have actually been used to establish the divine thrones in Celestia rather than being put into the gnoses. The gnoses just have the ability to draw elemental power from Celestia because they’re connected to the divine thrones.

I agree that the 3rd Descender is likely the Abyss Sibling. Or rather, the Missing Sibling, because I don't think the "Abyss Sibling" is actually the Traveler's sibling. Nahida says that the Abyss Sibling randomly showed up in Irminsul's records in the middle of Khaenriah 500 years ago, and that they aren't a Descender; in Khaenriah, Rhinedottr was experimenting with creating artificial humans that share properties with the Twins, and we know that the Missing Sibling was in Khaenriah for some time. I think that "the Abyss Sibling" is a successful clone of the Missing Sibling, and that the real Missing Sibling was killed and turned into the Gnoses.
It adds a sort of thematic tragedy to the Archon quests. Each nation has the Traveler visiting and searching for their sibling, only to leave once the gnosis is gone. They're following a crumb trail made of their sibling's corpse without knowing it, and every time they grow close their sibling slips from their fingers. They've been getting so close to their sibling this entire time, and they never even knew.
Edit: Now that I think on it, how old *are* the Gnoses? We saw from the Archon quest that the Thrones distribute elemental authority, not the Gnoses, as the Hydro Gnosis is still around and functional even after the Hydro Throne has been destroyed. So it's entirely possible that the Archons didn't receive the Gnoses until 500 years ago, which would explain why they're so eager to give them up - they empower them to the level of a dragon sovreign, but aren't the source of their elemental power. (It would also explain how Ei can slice an island in half without ever using her Gnosis.)

Not possible for the sibling to be the gnoses, since they only came to teyvat 500 years ago. Archons have been there with the gnoses for over 2000 years. The third descender is not the sibling
Now I am inclined to think that the sinner is the part of the third descender's remains that wasn't used to create the gnoses, especially its will and consciousness that thirsts for revenge against celestia that tore it apart.

That fits so well with Deshrets story and what happend to Gurabad it also mirrors how Liloupar reacted when she was lied to. We know Khaenri'ah was located in Sumeru what if Deshret comes from the same race as the traveller the original khaenri'ahns the others could be another cycle by the worldformula meaning they are not pure khaenri'ahns but the traveller and Deshret is.
Something interesting that was mentioned in the 4.2 AQ is the fact that Skirk talks about how they have tried to communicate with the humans but something is preventing them and they are trying to warn them about something. Also another interesting detail is that if the Gnosis are the Authority of the elemental Dragons + the Body of the 3rd Desender and the idea of the 2nd who came, that means that he was really the one who stole the powers of the dragons, since the Gnosis and Visions only began to exist in Teyvat after the Archon war, since both Mona and some books in the new Fontain Zone mention that elemental powers can be used through Hydromancy, Pyromancy, Geomancy, etc. and the people from the Narcizenkoits Organization were capable of using these arts and did not possess a Vision. Also in Neuvillette's character story in the visions section, it is mentioned that these are a law imposed by a higher authority than Celestia or something like that and this is a way in which those who have authority over the elements They have to share some of their authority with those who are worthy, regardless of whether their ambitions are good or evil.

I do have a feeling we are gonna see the Cryo Gnosis sooner than we expected.
As Natlan's Final Act "Resurrection of the Ode" might probably hint that they will resurrect someone in this region.
Knowing that the No.1 Harbinger, Capitano is already in Natlan, I suppose that either he brought all the Gnoses (along with the Cryo) considering he is "The Captain" making Natlan the final place to resurrect the 3rd Descender by getting all the 7 Gnoses together (along with Pyro, after Murata loses in an honor fight with Capitano) with some ode/poem to be performed.
We might see the Fatui's plan of collecting the Gnoses succeed and its aftermath in Natlan.
Then, Capitano will request the 3rd Descender and 4th Descender (Traveler) to join him in Snezhnaya to do the finality of the plans along with Tsaritsa.
Waging the war like before but now with another descender that will raise the chances to win against Celestia, the Traveler.
What if the 3rd descender is the traveler's emergency food and the Dragon King will rise in Natlan.
I do believe there is chances Paimon is the main body of 3rd Descender without the elemental powers because all of her powers and memories are lost and divided into pieces, the 7 Gnosis.
Plus, because Paimon's design looks like chess piece and she has the "omni" symbol in her chest which means she could also control all elements in Teyvat

A few points to add:
1. The line about the fragments of the Primordial being driven to devour one another could in fact reference the Archon War, meaning that all gods we know of are fragments of, or descendants of the Primordial One. Venti, for example, is a child of Istaroth who in turn is a Shade of the Primordial One. It also explains and contextualizes the Archon War, as wasn’t it waged in the first place to see who would gain a Gnosis, and eventually be the ones to answer humanity’s prayers in lieu of Celestia?
2. I’m not completely sure if the Dragon’s power directly = power within the Gnosis. While I agree that pieces of the Third Descender were used to create the Gnosis, I don’t think that they necessarily contain the Authority of the Dragons. Neuvilette was able to become a fully fledged Sovereign without having to crack open the Hydro Gnosis to do so, and he’s still the Hydro Sovereign even after giving the Gnosis to Arrlechino. But as for why Skirk says they’re unlucky objects is still uncertain.
3. The point you made about the Second accidentally bringing dangers of the Abyss with them makes sense in context of the All-Devouring Narwhal, and how its boss items allide to how there are these cosmic beings in the Universe that devour dead worlds and stars, and given how the Narwhal was devouring the power of the Primordial Sea, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that the invaders that came did so to devour the world.
4. Unless King Irmin is somehow immortal, i’ll be quite surprised how Lumine (Abyss Sibling) is still considered a Princess even though she may have been in Teyvat for thousands of years. Part of the reason why I kind of doubt she was there for that long is because I find it weird how she has thousands of years to look for Aether if she landed far earlier and yet was unable to until Khaenri’ah fell.
Also, Skirk says that the identity of the Third Descender was probably something not worth remembering or knowing based on Surtrloki’s words, and if this is assuming that Lumine was the Third Descender, this doesn’t match up. Given how Surtrloki and Gold were likely prominent members of Khaenriah, it would be odd how they would consider Lumine’s aka the Third Descender’s identity not worth remembering.
And also Nahida and by extension the Fatui don’t consider Lumine a Descender, so her being the third won’t match up.
5. Now that we know what the Gnoses are, it’s likely that the Tsaritsa is planning to resurrect the Third Descender in some way, and most likely King Nibelung too, as these entities were the closest to toppling the Heavenly Principles, but it seems likely that this is going to fail. I don’t think that Paimon is some sort of spy for Celestia, as Focalors entire plan was to fool them, and Neuvilette had told Aether and Paimon the entirety of what happened, so all the secrecy would have been lost.
And one thing I just remembered, a possible hole in the theory that the Three Moon sisters were the Shades that died doesn’t add up, as the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles is likely the Shade of Space and was still very much alive by the time she cursed the Twins.
But those are just my thoughts. Amazing video, as usual!
I would love to see you do one talking about the Abyss Order, given how Skirk and by extension Surtrloki make Khaenri’ah and the Abyss Order stupidly OP in context. The Narwhal alone could have destroyed Teyvat by itself had Neuvilette not regained his Authority, and yet it’s merely a pet for Surtrloki. That, and how Gold had created multiple nation-destroying Dragons of her own, makes me wonder what the Abyss Order has in store, as we get so little lore about them compared to the Fatui.

Thank you for watching, and I agree with many of your points! I do think King Irmin was immortal given his mythological inspirations (King Odin), but that’s just my presumption for now.
• In regards to the abyss sibling not being considered a descender, it may have to do with the heavens “responding to the summoning.” If Celestia allowed them in with the sole purpose of killing them and collecting their corpse, they may have added them on to it. But I do agree it would be odd for Surtalogi to say the identity isn’t important depending on how important Lumine/Aether are on the grand scheme of the Abyss and not just the Abyss Order. However, I find it odd that any of the descenders wouldn’t be considered important.
• It’s possible that the sustainer was one of the moon sisters given her pale skin. And if you pay attention to when we first encounter her, there are two other smaller stars on the sides, which may have belonged to the two other moon sisters. But the idea that the moon sisters even died could just be attributed to some details most likely being stretched. Since we know the Sustainer is dying (via the direct chinese translation of the traveler’s character story), the moon sisters may have just been deeply wounded and are now in the process of dying.
I think the reason why Skirk says they're unlucky objects is pretty clearly shown by the situation in post-Archon War Liyue and Inazuma. The wrath of the slain gods like Orobashi and the metric ton of slain gods in Liyue the Yaksha had to clean up and purge had massive negative effects on the lands and the people. I would imagine that the remains of a Descender, someone with similar power to the Primordial One and the Traveler, would contain considerable negative wrathful effects.
I Doubt that Skirk is in any way affiliated with the Abyss Order, she seems honest while the Abyss Order isn’t.
From what Skirk said, it seems the Narwhal is one individual of a species rather than just a singular entity, and considering everything we know about it, I think it may be related to the Leviathans of Honkai Star Rail.
What is driving me bonkers is where did Neuvillette come from -what were the details of his rebirth? His origins? Did he spring from a clam shell like the male version of Venus (there’s an image, lol) and that’s when Focalors found him? Did she free him from some prison somewhere? (cough Scylla cough) I’ve been trying to find details to his existence before Fontaine and it’s like HoYoverse forgot that part. He just was brought by Focalors one day and there you go. So frustrating.

i think they're planning to add neuvilette's origins during 4.2 AQ furina's flashback, but since the AQ alone is already super long, it can be a drag to put it there. Maybe in furina's 2nd story quest they'll do that
pretty good recap and theories. Just wanted to add that:
- The Archon War started around 4000 years ago. Guizhong died 3700 years ago when the Archon War was already in full swing. I also believe that the 'primordial fragments' are all the general gods littered around Teyvat, such as Decarabian, Andrius, Orobashi, Havria, Guizhong, Morax, Rukkhadevata etc.
- Since the Abyss Twin is recorded to be 'from Teyvat', I don't think they can be the Third Descender.
- My belief is that the 'great war of revenge' is the second attempt of the Dragon Sovereigns against the Primordial One, and the Second Who Came actually helped the Primordial One in staving them off, almost annihilating Primordial in the process. The 'functions' mentioned would be their shades, with only Istaroth remaining. This would make sense, since we have evidence from Sal Vyndagnir (Dragonspine civilisation) that suddenly Celestia barely to never responded anymore and their Heavenly Envoys disappeared too. Aside from that is that Istaroth is the only Shade we've had some stories about, first of all that Venti is related to her and that he kinda sorta co-ruled with her in a way? and Istaroth helped Makoto with the whole Sacred Sakura shenanigans.
Thank you! And that is a good point I’ve seen some people point out. The gods being the Primordial Fragments would make sense, but it also makes me wonder what that means for the Primordial One. After all, it is said that “the creator has yet to come,” but perhaps It’ll be reborn.
• I don’t personally believe that descenders can’t be recorded by Iriminsul. I just think it’s hidden to lower-god and may not have the same effect on them. The traveler was undoubtedly tied into Fontaine’s fate, since they were the one who put Furina on trial, which was apart of the prophecy. They’re also destined to ascend to the seat of god and only received a constellation after interacting with the Monstadt statue of the seven, which is tied to Iriminsul.

I agree mostly, but zhongli is the only one we hear has descended more than 6000 years ago. Descended from where I wonder. an artifact says that when Rex Lapis was still young the sun was still in the sky in a chariot(does this mean he was born in teyvat?). I have a few theories, like either he is a fragment as you say, or like venti , a child of a shade or , since those two seem to be contradictory, is it possible to have ascended(to the first crlestia) and then descended? personally I see his lore a bit following a few head of gods(crysos or whatever you write it as is a spirit of gold , a supposed son of Zeus, and his back symbol looks similar to the symbol for gungnir, the spear of odin, or the spear of heaven; not to mention he is the head of adepti and that symbol can have him represent the center, the emperor or the yellow dragon) so I wonder if he isn't similar to the traveler. We don't know his actual name either, I think Celestia attributed these demon names to them when they became archons so it's possible all of his names are fake as well, like how we can name the traveler whatever else. but this one is beside the point.
my theory I followed about zhongli is that he might be a descendant of a shade or a descender, but we still don't know all the facts about the descenders yet, so I'm curious who will they be revealed as. the man is a walking secret and I wish we'd know his deal cause I have a hunch he might know something about the very early past.

As for the Abyss twin they very well might not be the third descender since they were created by Khaen. Which caused it's destruction for creating a human or something that's beyond a normal human. Our actual twin is the 3rd descender which died and got turned into Gnosis. But then again another possibility for the 3rd could by the one the Cryo Archon did love. Afterall she was said to be the Goddess of love.
This may be a far fetched theory, but hear me out.
Adding on to the theory of the “DEAD” Third Descender, whose corpse remains were used as the basis for Teyvat’s Gnosises, I honestly think it is the Traveler’s sibling. Both characters display affinity of the elements. Which explains a lot, and the similarities does entail a very dark foreshadowing in the future.
Remember that Nadia tells us that the Traveler is the FOURTH DESCENDER, and that your sibling is NOT a Descender at all, since you were not shown in Irminsul’s records, yet your sibling was. This brings me back to a theory that I’ve had since the end of Summers’s Archon quest. And it’s that our ACTUAL SIBLING is DEAD. The actual sibling that we were traveling together across the stars has been dead this entire time. And the sibling that we saw in the “We will be reunited again” quest is actually not our sibling, since that “sibling” was shown to have been recorded in Teyvat. But not US.
In other words, the sibling we saw in the beginning of the game (I’ll call him/her sibling 1) and the sibling we saw in the ‘We will be reunited’ quest (sibling 2) are TWO completely different people entirely. Sibling 1 is DEAD. and is the THIRD Descender, just like you, except you are the Fourth. Sibling two is alive, but they originated from Teyvat. Which explains why they have been shown in the Irminsul, and you have not.
Anyways, that’s just my theory. And if it turns out that I was correct, that is to say your true sibling at the start of the game has been dead this entire time? Then holy…. That would be such a dark plot twist and a half, even by Honkai Impact standards.
Also, this does obviously entail that there may be some multiversal story element at play here that has or has not been revealed yet. That would explain my theory in regards to your actual sibling being dead and you literally seeing your “sibling’ in Dain’s quest line.
I don't think it means that the traveler's actual sibling is dead. I don't think Mihoyo has the balls to write that story for their casual audience, but I don't play Honkai, so I guess I don't know. The information in irmunsul isn't only deleteable, its fully changeable. When Scaramouche erased himself, a new version of how he came to exist was added into irmunsul. The same could be going on with the sibling. If the sibling erased themselves from irmunsul but they are still around, somehow irmunsul could rearrange things to give their presence an (incorrect) explanation that has them originating from Teyvat.
This would mean that collecting the 7 Gnoses would be the key to saving the MC’s Twin.
the siblings arrived in teyvat after the archon war, there's no way for them to be the one used to create the gnoses. plus, if nahida refers to us as the fourth, then that means there is some sort of information on the third descender, and if it was the sibling she would've told us
@@kellbear23we can't say for sure that they arrived after archon war .. they have only been sleeping for 500 years .plus that Sakura tree was said to be planted for years...but ei only planted it in her 2nd story quest..in past .. she claims that people around her stated that "it was always there" I am not sure..how long that was but makoto planned this with the help of ishtaroth... It's not impossible for time to work differently ...
4.2 Archon quest has given us huge multiple lore bombs and they are giving me goose bump.I had the same theory about Abyssal siblings being the source of the Gnosis.
As for when they arrived to Teyvat, the clue is in the first cutscene of Genshin, where it shows Aether and Lumine arrived at Teyvat as a star, which also shows them passing Venti huge statue and also Li yue. This could mean that they do arrived after Archon war. But there are possibility that Traveller memories also has been altered as well.

Neuvillette mentions that the Archon needs to disappear to gain his full dragonhood, can a gnosis really make an archon disappear tho? idk, but it seems very unlikely given the archons give out their gnoses like candy. can a divine throne make an archon disappear? well, we saw what focalors did. completely destroying the hydro divine throne, and returning Neuvillette's powers to him, I say this because only when Focalors died can you truly see Neuvillette regain his authority, visually in the cutscene. and most importantly, I also say this because when he was talking about it with Focalors, this specific part:
Neuvillette: ''The destruction of that divine throne... if I do not misunderstand your intent, you must be...''
Focalors: ''returning what's rightfully yours to you, of course. In other words, this was all done to return the authority of the hydro archon to the hydro dragon of this planet.''
the choice of words really suggests it's the divine throne in my opinion... as well as learning where the gnoses actually come from, it's no longer a secret to question if its not dragon authority then what is it? well, remains of the 3rd descender, and so whatever the heck that means.

The Traveler (whoever we choose) is a descender. However, it seems that the sibling is not. Nahida said during the Archon Quest that the sibling of the Traveler seems to be part of Teyvat, since there was indeed a record of the sibling in Irminsul. That is, if I remember it correctly. I'm leaning towards the 3rd descender as the Sinner.
But its possible for the information in Irminsul to be changed, so its not out of the question entirely. Its definitely very odd for one twin to be a descender from another world while the other is from the world of Teyvat like Nahida said. Especially since the traveler says they used to travel to different planets with their sibling.

But we saw two memory change from irminsul till date .so it's actually not that reliable ... It's not possible for twins to be from different race..if one is descender..other has to be .unless .that twin is actually replica of the original one... It would make sense why our twin is so cold towards us after meeting for so long ... Maybe that "bonding" that traveller is experiencing for this twin is planned to fool them into completing their journey ..for what reason .dk... We have to wait to see that

Rewards for the worthy, the doorway to divinity. Yet buried in the depths of this world lies smoldering remains, a warning to those that dare trespass. THAT THRONE IN THE SKY IS NOT RESERVED FOR YOU. "
The smoldering remains meant the gnosis,, and the one saying that throne is not reserved for anyone is most likely the heavenly principles warning the traveler that if he dare trespass, he'll suffer the same fate as the 3rd descender, his sibling.
And in the same scene where the narrator was saying " yet buried in the depths of this world " we can see a bunch of inteyvat flowers which was the same flower Lumine has in her head indicating that the 3rd really was the sibling.
@@Kenzznz I don't actually think the traveler is the third descender. I don't think the sibling we've met in game is fake. I've not played any other games by Hoyoverse, but my impressions from this game so far tell me that they wouldn't make our sibling actually be dead. I think our sibling is a descender, but they may be an uncounted one. Its possible they were the third but then aren't being said to be the third after erasing themselves. But if they changed their history in Irmunsul, it makes sense for them to be uncounted. So they aren't necessarily one of the four. That leaves it open for the third descender to be someone else.
Here is what we know so far:
1. The archons we met value the gnoses as if you'd value a love letter from your ex who dumped you and revealed they cheated on you with your bestie. Hell, ei barely touched the thing and nahida was ready to destroy it
2. It holds the authority of sovereign dragons of its correspong element.
3. It also holds pieces of the 3rd descender.
4. They were given out 3000 years ago after the archon war had its 7 winners. Meaning lumine and aether arrived 2500 years after the war so they were 2500 years later than the 3rd descender at least
Lumine and Aether could have first arrived much earlier than that. The main character's journey begins 500 years after the sibling had their own. There's no reason to think that the siblings journey started right after both of them arrived in Teyvat. Both siblings were captured by the unknown god at the beginning in a similar manner. We don't know how much time has passed.
Great theories once again! I loved this archon quest and all the lore reveals. It has breathed new life into the lore for me. I’m with you on the third descender being the Sinner. I want to say that the last act of Natlan’s archon quest incandescent ode of resurrection will be about reviving him after they receive the pyro gnosis. The Tsarista having a love theme makes me think she was in love with the Sinner.
gnosis dont have and never had dragon powers. neuvilette says "i don't need the gnosis' power" and is still a full dragon
Given all this massive lore drop it seems more likely now that the "usurper" did not create teyvat, It was created by the real "heavens" within the light realm, the dragons just being the most powerful representatives of the 7 elements that teyvat revolves around. "functions damaged" sounds more like the usurper was actually a construct of some sort, and given that the gnosis seem to be devices as well the 3rd descender could have also been a contruct, which could imply that the first 3 descenders actually all knew each other and were sentient constructs of a sort. The usurper was overriding the original worlds programming with it's own control mechanisms which then were damaged because of the vengeance war with the second descender. However it was the third that was destroyed and salvaged for parts. It seems that one of the actions of the second who came after damaging the usurper was to force the "shades" to destroy each other (mind control of some sort).
Then at some point the third came and the first two allied to take down the third.
I still think the second who came is within the "sinner" crystal and mind control is one of his powers. "breaking through the shackles" was undermining the usurper's control over teyvat.
As for nibelung, it's possible when he went outside teyvat to get help he was infected by the very thing he was trying to use to fight the usurper so when he came back the forbidden knowledge came with him. There is a slight chance that nibelung is the third descender and it was him who was destroyed and his fragments turned into gnosis. (which could mean nibelung could use ALL the 7 base elements) Although i'm not sure about the timeline here.
About the Gnosis being the authority thing- I don't actually think that's true. (I know I commented something like this before, but bear with me here-)
You mention the lines Skirk says, but the thing is, there's a bit of missing context. Skirk says, "I can finally catch the scent of your (Neuvillette's power)...what it's made of. It is the authority of the planet's primordial dragons but with something very similar to a god's curse mixed in, it's quite the novel blend...You should have the remains of the third descender on your person, yes?"
To which Neuvillette responds that he actually had the Gnosis on him during that moment. Before he was advised to be rid of it. Given his full power was returned to him by the destruction of the divine throne, the Gnosis likely isn't it.
Also, it's interesting how Skirk mentions the power of the gods (divinity) being a curse...

Ah is that what it was. I was confused when thinking back on it why Focalors had to kill herself but that makes sense now if that's the case. The issue is, I also remember Nuevillette saying something along the lines of the gnosis already helped him accomplish what he needed to and now he doesn't need it anymore in his reasoning for why he handed it off to Arlecchino. I'll need to watch a replay of the Fontaine quest at some point to get all this sorted out.

That whole "gnoses are made from dragons" was falsified in 4.2 but people can't let go of it. in fact it was falsified in the new Wings even before 4.2 because it says the gnosis came from -- well it seemed like it said the Primordial One but - not from a dragon that's for sure. It seems gnoses have nothing to do with dragons. At all.
When Neuvillette's Vision story says the PO was wounded it presumably means in the war with the 2nd throne as this was already widely suspected considering how the behaviour of Celestia changes such a lot and the lines saying "the keeper is fading, the creator has not come". If you'll note it says the PO was wounded in the war of "vengeance" that is the second dragon war. Not the first. In the first war they didn't have anything to revenge yet. There's a gap between the two wars while the dragons regroup and get allies ("Forbidden Knowledge"). Had the PO been wounded in the first war I doubt it would have been able to win the second which was deadlier by far.
People really like the idea of the Traveler having seven elements at the beginning for some reason. But it's simpler to assume they simply have an energy of a higher order similar to (or exactly the same as) Abyssal and Celestial energy. This would allow Traveler to absorb elemental energies and use them, which is exactly what we see. Traveler can only use elements they have met and absorbed. Thus any abyssal or celestial creature can do this. Simurgh is able to absorb Hydro and Dendro energy. The Baptist can use 3 elements. Not to say that all aliens can do this as for example Aloy and the Rifthounds cannot. But it's easy to see why a lot of outlanders can manipulate many elements if they are armed with a higher order element, meaning they are armed with the ability to absorb Teyvat's elements and -- perhaps -- this ability is useful across many planets out there across the universe to enable a star faring alien to fit in on any planet easily.
5:05 you say the PO couldn't absorb elemental energy but this contradicts the idea that the PO took much of the Sovereign's power.
Yes ever since the word "descender" dropped a year ago I assumed descenders were people who could change Teyvat's fate and therefore, as a group intent on doing exactly that, but one trying to kill the Traveler, the Fatui must already have a descender of their own. This now appears to be the third descender, whom they will try to revive by gathering all the 7 crystal fragments of the original crystal. Classic anime plot.
I think all theories about "Celestia is using X to track what's happening with Y" is void after the Masquerade.
Chronologically the 3rd descender comes between around 8000 and 3000 years ago so the traveler who married the Seelie (which is probably just a legend) is out of that range.
You're also assuming that the 3rd descender was split up involuntarily. This game is thick with gods sacrificing themselves for their people. I think the 3rd descender volunteers to use their life force just the same as Guoba or Makoto or Rukkhadevata or Furina or Deshret or Andrius. When Neuvillette's Vision story says the PO and another worked to make the gnoses that other is the 3rd descender. 1st and 2nd are still enemies.

• I disagree that that the Primordial One being wounded has to be referring to a war against the SWC. Since we know that Apep was still trying to fight and that Nibelung eventually returned, it could just be referring to their second strike after the first dragon war.
• The traveler confirmed that their original power is composed is composed of the seven elements back in 1.2(?). I included a screenshot of it during that talking period.
• The third descender could have technically came directly after the second. And according to the legend, the seelie situation even predates the existance of the Adepti, meaning it took place at least 3700 years ago.
• The Primordial One took the sovereigns power, but that doesn’t directly mean It absorbed it. It could have simply been like someone taking a gnosis. It could have also just put the Sovereign’s power into something, such as the gnoses or Celestia. The two are likely connected since the Gnoses draw power directly from Celestia.
• The examples you gave for people voluntarily giving their life were in trades or to save the entire world. However, the Third Descender was a corpse, and there are no current mentions of them teaming up. Neuvillette’s vision story says the first and “the one who came after,” which would be the Second Descender rather than the third.
But Skirk even mentioned the dragons authority In the gnosis. So…how do the gnoses have nothing to do with the dragons again?

I have a theory
When the Sustainer split up the twins at the very beginning, she didn't simply separate the two - she sent them to two different versions of Teyvat where one sibling is a Traveler and the other is the Abyss twin
Why? Everything points to the fake sky and the reveal that the Abyss twin was recorded by the Irminsul despite the twins both originating from outside the world of Teyvat. It is possible Celestia could have created a puppet twin that would land in Khaenri'ah, explore the world, and later command the Abyss around the time the other twin began their journey. Both twins' journeys are occurring simultaneously for some reason in worlds separated only by the fake sky thought to be where the abyss exists.
The Abyss itself could serve as an antibody of sorts, preventing the barrier between worlds from being infringed upon, hence its complete decimation of Khaenri'ah during the cataclysm, and its constant presence across Teyvat. The Abyss twin most likely is a manifestation of this antibody that is meant to distract the Traveler twin from putting all the pieces together and breaking the barrier between worlds to find their sibling to oppose Celestia
I think the Twin used to be the Third Descender before they died, that would explain the similarities to the Traveler and why they are not counted as a Descender anymore. It's because the Twin has died and been registered by Irminsul, which means they are now part of Teyvat's History.
It reminds me of the last phrase in Dainsleif lore speech video in which he says he remembers how ‘she’ too loved these flowers. Extremely ominous, talking about his companion, the lost twin, like she doesn’t exist anymore or passed away.

i know this might sound crazy but here a two ideas i got for the 3rd decender :
1. what if our twin was the third but then got killed by the unknown god and their remains where used for the gnosis but perhapts one fragment got away and got into contact with abyss power somehow wich gave it enough power to reform their human shape wich might also explain why maybe why their not recorded as another desender .
2. Lumine and Aether where at the begiining just one entety but after the attack of the unknown god they seperated them into pieces and made 7 outof the 9 into knosis , the part that later became the abyss twin somehow got human shape and has sepaerate memorys then the mc twin (wich is assumed to be light element since their the oposite then the abyss twin) and tehn when the unknown god , celestia or any other entety with enough power realised what was happening to teyvat , theyd send the last remain they got ,gave it human shape wich is the twin whe choose to send it down to teyvat in hopes it will bring everything into order

I think my problem with descenders = moon sisters is that it really doesn't close out the bunch of holes of their supposed connection with seelies.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear, but I’m saying the 3 moon sisters are the shades of the Primordial One, the first descender. If so, that itself would explain their connection to the seelies, since the moon sisters would have been the 4 lower-gods of the seelies’ overall god, the Primordial One. And although the seelies worshipped the moon sisters, they worshipped the Primordial One above them, which is why the Goddess of Flowers proclaims “Praise be to the Winged One.”
Yes I agree I think descender is just a label for a person that travels outside the firnament. The shell the Primordial One put around Theyvat to keep things out presumably. If my theory is correct the whale went through the firnament also labeled the "fake sky" so there should be a hole to the other side, were Skirk was able to get to Theyvat. I think the third descender is Deshret. We know Deshret obtained forbidden knowledge and that knowledge was to powerful for Apep to handle, he lured Apep to swallow him whole we don't know the meaning of that did he gain some of Apeps power doing that, what was his purpose? He was one of the first that defied Celestia by refusing his Gnosis. It fits with the symbolism if the remains of Deshret is within the very thing he refused from the gods.

This just gave me a crazy idea.
Focalors said that she split her divinity away from her body and left behind whom we call Furina (in order to deceive others you should deceive yourself). What if the unknown god did the same and split her self into a smaller version of herself and that is Paimon.
We know that Paimon trusts the traveller without ill intentions. But what if, at the end of the story, Paimon learns the truth about herself and she ends up unintentionally betraying the traveller.
That would surely scar Paimon.
Also Nahida hinted in the Sumeru AQ that if she destroyed the gnosis, it would alert Celestia. They would make that possibility out of nowhere so maybe that would eventually happen in the story. And so, my theory might also happen in the story since we learned that Gods can create smaller version of themselves without any memories
i feel like paimon is aware of her past though, at least to some extent, like during that one quest when she refused to enter the door, or how she had the flashback of bad memories when touching the rock. she is intentionally hiding her past from what it seems

The third descender cannot be the abyss sibling since in "we will be reunited", she is alive and well. Also, all the gnosis existed LONG before they arrived on Tyvat.
the fact that we found some information on our abyss sibling in Irminsul, makes me question, perhaps the sibling we meet isn't exactly our actual sibling, rather a fake one or a puppet for someone behind the scenes. not to mention, if the abyss sibling did traverse Teyvat, i would assume they also collected the elements from each respective region, why i do not yet know but i'm assuming they did. possibly Celestia used this elemental energy to power/create the gnosis. in the caribert quest, the sinner talks to us and possibly our sibling which i also think may havee been a preivious desender waring both of us idk. but mostly the fact that our sibling, but not us can be linked to irminsul makes me question.
This is really similar to how in Re:zero they put the seven witches' powers/authorities inside the remains of the third person to come from another world

According to Apep(One of the orignal seven sovereign ) in the 2nd story of Nahida, the dragon king Nibelung after losing to the Primodial One, seek abyssal power from beyond Teyvat then returned therefore making him no longer identical to the beings living on Teyvat anymore, making the world call him the 2nd who came. Even though Nibelung was once again defeated but the abyssal power that he brought devastated Teyvat, causing him to be a sinner, which we already know what his current state looks like (a dark purple crystal). From what i understand from skirk was saying about 3rd disender that IT Die a long ago. If i interpreter this wrong then plz correct me. Also IT will make 0 sens about from 2 diffrend perspection. One is from inmersoul part and second from our traveler part. Irmensoul claim that (let's say that eather is our Main protagonist) eather is not from teyvat but lumine isn't. But from eather perspection he still claim that he and his sister are from another world. we all know how to change a time and reality now but IT can change a lot of thinks if you are not carefull. This truth about the gnoses makes me wonder if the 7 knew what they were. Then again if Neuvillette didn't know (who's even older than Zhongli), maybe they didn't. Then again when it comes to Zhongli, I can't help but wonder if one of the reasons he made that contract with the Tsarista had something to do his gnosis. Maybe he had an inkling of what it truly was since he's very smart after all.

I like the idea of the Sinner being the Third Descender. Rn it seems like "sinner" is a label The Heavenly Principles/Celestia applies to Teyvat beings who have committed grave transgressions. The most recent example of this is Egeria, who committed Fontaine's "original sin" of creating humans.
The Sinner is worshipped like a god, and the Defiled Statue is treated as an idol of the Sinner. He is essentially the "Anti-Archon."
And, in a fitting twist, this false god's body would be the origin of the Archons' "Authorities", with his "consciousness" encased within a crystal.
Maybe the Sinner sees the Traveler/their sibling as a conduit to revive himself, as they both have similar elemental properties
Considering the Fatui's ties to Khaenri'ah through Pierro, maybe they and the Abyss Order have a shared goal of reviving/creating a god to overthrow Celestia, but they differ in their approaches.
We do know that the Loom of Fate operation involves creating a "Mecha-Osial" (it still sounds kinda goofy lol), while the Tsaritsa's desire to collect the Gnoses might be to restore the Third Descender's power. Maybe Dottore's "Scara-mech" was just a prototype for this plan?? It was powered by a Gnosis after all

Since it's been confirmed we can destroy the thrones, I'm more inclined to thinking that the Tsaritsa would destroy the thrones all in all. If she can't return the elements to the dragons, she'll break them all and plummet Celestia to the ground instead, making it reachable and therefore can be fought.
Also, if the archons can be set free by it, I'd love that. The gods have all suffered. Who knows, the Archon War might get re-enacted, this time, with Zhongli and the others fighting for themselves against a common oppressor that's bound them to their seats as "gods".

You can't trust the information in irmunsul to be accurate. We know it can be changed, so this is easily explainable. The bigger issue is whether we can trust Skirk's information that the third descender is dead. She is otherworldly so she's not relying on irmunsul for that information, so it seems more correct. But that has to be weighed against the oddity of the main character's sibling not being a descender when we know they used to travel with the main character in the past. Perhaps they are a technically a descender too aren't being counted because they had their record in irmunsul changed. So that could still leave the door open for the third descender to be someone else while the main character's sibling is still a descender too.

Its not impossible that Skirk is wrong about the third descender being dead, but she isn't from Teyvat so changing irmunsul wouldn't affect wherever she got the knowledge from. My theory at the moment is that the main character's sibling is actually technically a descender but they aren't being counted as one of the four descenders because they erased themselves in irmunsul. That leaves the sinner as the best candidate for being the third descender still.

I have a question why does the primordial whale teleported us to the sea of quanta Vita style
We don’t know for sure how it teleported us yet. But since it’s “otherworldly”/universal, it may have just teleported us to a place in the Abyss (or inside of it) like how Abyssal things can create portals.
@@iamsyncx The whale is not random it is a pet of the master of Skirk the Foul. The Primordial water must be controversial in other ways, and Fontaine was a casualty of war. After all Oceanids were never supposed to be humans in the first place so that would have been hard to predict.

For context mihoyo trying to build a multiverse and genshin is one of the universes so I think one of the members of Elysia's group opinion kinda explains things especially when you start to see the resemblance in abyss and honkai that member thinks of universes as a leaf on the imaginary tree and there's a never ending war between imaginary tree and sea of quanta tree wants to devour the sea and the sea wants to drown the tree so tree keeps getting bigger so creating more universes (I'm not sure about the rest) but also that tree test those universes (or sea of quanta reach them) honkai/abyss power will come and if universe fails to beat it leaf will drop into sea of quanta and create bubble universes etc
