"If anyone can tell us the whereabouts of the pizza, or has any knowledge about what happened to it, it is our main focus and priority of the investigation. Oh, and if anyone has seen Joanne over the last few days, that would be very helpful in regards to finding out what happened to the pizza"
You understand that he was appealing for information about the pizza because it could lead to further clues to her disappearance, right? I mean... at that point... they had absolutely nothing to go on and were grasping at straws. In their reasoning, they may have thought someone might see it discarded in some grass or something, and maybe finding it would be able to tell them what direction she went in after she disappeared, or maybe they'd get lucky and find some other evidence in the area it was discarded. It sounds silly when we listen to him say it, I know, but it was perfectly logical.
It's crazy, I saw Jeffries picture and thought "oh I know this story, he did it". I didn't even know it wasn't him, as a Brit I just knew his face from papers, amazing what the media do and how much theh can effect peoples lives!

Maronator K...Most of the world's media is insane. I remember my grandfather saying something like "don't believe anything you hear(on the news)and half of what you see" He was right.
Oh, he did. He sued them completely AND...it changed the way the UK media are allowed to report on crimes. Since this happened there's been a pretty major sea change about what information does and doesn't get released quickly.
It's actually a thing! If you watch Forensic Files, there are so many cases where the murderer will kill someone in the victim's home and then eat their food out of their refrigerator. WTF
Exactly. Listening to her mom, it’s impossible to not put yourself in her shoes and that is literally my worst nightmare as a mother, your child missing. Just terrible.
Looks like it was the worst thing of his life at first... but then hearing he was an english teacher, and how he was talking about the end about "thee meddddiaaaa" in his accent, he total loves that he was proved innocent, and talking about the media writing false articles about him.
Batman he just talks that way, does not show he loves it. Jesus man, this guy was ridiculed and hated by the entire nation and more! Do you really think anyone is happy with being accused of murdering a young woman while openly discussing your sexual preference?
Praying won't do shit. There are over 50 gods. Each says if you pray to another your out. So how do you know you picked the right god in the first place? Fill one hand with your problems and fill the other hand with answered prayers. See which fills up first.
I remember reading about that case after watching The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies. What the media had done to this man was absolutely despicable. And he went through that hell with so much dignity and integrity, it was unbelievable.
Neighbors actually heard screaming and yelling help me and didn’t do shit??? If I heard that from any direction I’m investigating and calling the police. Wtf! Rip Joanna
I just did that this morning. got woken up at 5 am by a girl screaming outside my apartment. Called the cops quicker then I ever have. I don't play and I won't fall into that someone else will call habit.
Years later, my neighbor admitted to hearing me scream bloody murder, early on morning while I was being attacked by a dog. She did absolutely nothing to help me. It was shocking to hear her casually mention it.
2 years ago I eyewitness and accident happened in front of my house at 3am and I called the 999 - because I didn't want to assume others might call. I thought I was calm, in my head I feel so, but then the dispatcher asked me to calm down. I guess I was indeed shocked.
I'm really glad Jefferies got some kind of compensation. Those media sharks really are relentless. I hate how society likes to peg people as "unusual" for things as simple as being single. There was nothing suspicious about the guy that I could see, he actually seemed like a smarter, more well spoken and respectful person than most.
Yes - i remember being in a cafe and i heard a woman say to another - oh what a shame that man is on his own - the was she said it it was clear she thought i should be felt sorry for - im quite happy both in company or in my own company - there are people out there however who will not even go shopping on their own - they are the sad ones in my opinion
He was probably creating an alibi for later. In his mind he's probably thinking "if I'm a suspect they'll look at my phone, they'll see that I texted my girlfriend about being bored around the time she disappeared and they won't suspect me anymore." He wasn't the sharpest spoon in the toolshed. He probably could've bought himself more time if he hadn't started talking about what forensic evidence they had when he met with the police. If he'd just casually given them the bait and left it at that, he might even have gotten away with it.
Damian Cunliffe, true but when you're a nutjob, you're not smart to keep your mouth shut. On one true crime show, this man murdered his wife but when the case went unsolved, the husband kept pestering the police about solving the murder. They eventually solved it and he was caught. He should have kept his big mouth shut.
Can you imagine this man's thought process? If he killed her by "accident" his anxiety would be so heightened that there is no possible way he'd think of taking that pizza or saving it for later. His mind would be too occupied with the body in front of him but no. This man meticulously killed this woman, calmly looked at a pizza and thought he'd save it for later or eat it as a reward for his 'hard work'. Who is this man trying to fool? Disgusting.
I thought it was going to be one of her co-workers, too. Sounds like she had a premonition that something bad was going to happen if she mentioned that earlier in the evening. Or what's worse is that something she was already nervous about came true. 😢
Did they really show the "similar" pizza that's missing along with the woman!! I did not see them show a picture of the woman?! But the pizza?? That's great!
You could tell that he tried really hard not to laugh. I get that a woman is missing(at that point they didn't know that she was dead) and everything could help, but imagine coming in that day and being told that you have to tell the press that you have to ask them that a pizza could help.
I just about flipped my wig when you said this was your last video. Ya know there are other crime video makers that maybe slightly more in depth (big maybe) but they repeat themselves for length and drama. They are not nearly as entertaining. Your videos are really freaking awesome, Mike! Thank you from all of us out here. I bet the lassies are loving you too bro.
Unfortunately because of how ridiculous it was to be asking about the pizza. It's actually impressive that he didn't burst out laughing. I know I would have.
id like a really good explanation as to why whenever a neighbor hears someone screaming "help me" they never do anything to help or tell anyone until its too late. really shitty "dont be a hero" mindset.
My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't be able to sleep without doing something if I'd heard that. Gives me chills to think how many people's last chance was dependent on screaming for the help of strangers that wouldn't come.
I can't even count the amount of times I've called the police after witnessing people having screaming matches etc, even if it's nothing I'd rather have there be some sort of record on the chance it ever escalates to something worse. I don't care if it makes me a nark or whatever, I'd rather be a snitch than someone who let's something terrible happen to someone else
Personally, I'd be terrified of getting someone SWATted a la Ryan Whittaker. Fatally shot by Phoenix police after neighbour made a noise compaint. They were playing Crash Bandicoot.
What if you live alone already? Should you invent an imaginary roommate to ward off would-be killers? It's not very weird to mention something like that to people you know, at least from my experience. Besides it had nothing to do with her killing.

Wow, thank you for covering Joanna! Went to the same private school (though she was several years before me) and it affected our community quite a lot! Wishing you all the best for the new year!
Mama Pink There is! I can’t speak for the close family and friends though. It was the whole “we never expected this to happen to one of our own” but things have definitely patched over now.
*What's wrong with people when they hear someone screaming and more specifically screaming "help me" and they do nothing!* May karma come kicking at your door!
I vividly remember watching this sad story on the news at the time; Jo's parents searching for her in the snow, the news breaking that her body had been found on Christmas Day of all days. No parent should have to bury a murdered child, but the timing was particularly tragic. I also remember the vilification of Christopher Jeffries, and it wasn't just the print media. ALL TV channels were chasing him down the street with cameras and microphones, waiting in packs outside his house, treating him like a murderer / pervert just because he had a mad professor hairdo. May we all learn not to judge by appearances and join witch hunts. We're all guilty of it, we're only human, but this case is definitely one to learn from. Mike, I just want to say that your channel has been the highlight of my TH-cam experience this year. Keep doin' watcha doin'. x
Don't disperse responsibility by saying we're all guilty of it. No, you are. There are some people out there who were taught how to be decent human beings and not do that kind of terrible thing to a person. There aren't many of us but we're out here and we're ashamed of you.
Fronica considering that the commenter *never* said she was one of those people, it turns out that *you’re* the asshole, judging and shaming her for no apparent reason. Tsk tsk, pot, meet kettle - and how black you really are, aren’t ya
@@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim I kinda had the impression that Fronica was aiming that comment at the news media. I could be wrong, but I didn't take offense because I was not - and I assume nor were you - involved in tormentíng Mr. Jeffries. Just my take on it.
Gayle Crampton Ok, imagine you are Vermilion. In your public post, you intimately share with all of us your personal and sincere observations regarding this event. To that effect, you use the first-person pronoun: “I vividly remember this...” while elaborating on your inner thoughts, and you kindly conclude with your belief and wish that “May we all learn not to judge, we are all human.” In that last part, do you believe that Vermilion was using her sincerity to specifically address journalists in the purposefully sensationalist *media industry* (whose aim is to make money), or was she using the “we” to mean *all* of us, humanity as a whole, including herself? Now, we all ARE human, right? NONE of us are perfect, yes? We ALL tend to make mistakes, hasty judgments, somewhat unkind remarks? I mean, HearthCricket used the words _you’re fucking annoying,_ I used the word _asshole,_ and you used the word _over-sensitive dick._ That doesn’t make us monsters - we are simply human beings, still deserving of love and respect, regardless of our faults; still deserving of understanding and forgiveness for our occasional unkindnesses. I’m SURE HearthCricket doesn’t think you’re the spawn of Hitler just because you called her a dick. In fact, if you two met at an event, I’ll bet you’d even become good friends, swearing like pirates together over a glass of wine. And I don’t think you truly believe that HeartCricket is a despicable, worthless, awful human being just because she had such an intense, emotional reaction to an online post. Well, at least I hope you don’t. Ok, so far we’ve established that: 1. Vermilion wrote a heartfelt post about the imperfections of humanity 2. A couple of us got into a silly spat in the comments, but deep-down we’re fully aware that we’re in this together- we’re all being equally petty and it ain’t a big deal. None of us are losing sleep over it, it’s just an online discussion, whatevs. we’re not gonna send each other death threats, we still respect each other. Now, let’s go back to Vermilion. Do you feel like Vermilion was coming from a place of kindness, humility, and tolerance? As Vermilion, what kind of reaction would you expect to your heartfelt post? Here comes the first comment: “Don’t _(you dare)_ disperse responsibility by saying we’re all guilty of it.” Yikes, that sounds like a personal accusation directed at you, no? Or is it to the _”media?”_ Do you, as Vermilion, feel like you were dispersing responsibility in your post, or were you sharing your kind observations? The commenter then points the finger: “No, you are.” Whom does the _you_ in this comment refer to? That YOU are guilty? You see, if someone wanted to blame the media, they would say: _the media._ Or _society,_ or _people,_ or _others._ Since when are YOU the media!? Then the commenter goes on to show their outrage. You see, _THEY would never act in SUCH a disgraceful manner. How DARE people judge others! Just, how DARE they!_ So, as Vermilion, just how DARE you accuse this commenter of being AWFUL and dispersing your guilt onto her? The last part is my absofuckingfavorite. _”we’re ashamed of you._ Who is this _we?_ The rare and few decent people left? And who is _you?_ The journalists, or YOU, Vermilion, or the rest of us judgy assholes? So, Gayle, are you ashamed for calling people a _wildly over-sensitive dick?_ Because Frontina would NEVER do that, and as a decent human being, she’s ashamed of you.
It's so haunting to see some moving about their last day with no idea what they're in for. "Moments before" is spooky, but "hours before" is kind of effed.
It's always hard for me to see CCTV footage of people right before they die. Knowing they're just going about their day, not having any idea the horrors they're about to face, it's hard to watch. 😕
Right. I'd prefer to just never have to deal with anyone. Especially anyone who watches TV. Seriously brainwashed, the hole lot and don't even have a clue....

The pizza made me say "what is going on?" So are we looking for the pizza? The pizza did it? The U.K. has the strangest media. Strangest is the nicest word i could think of. Love that Chapter, Happy New Years Mike!
Indeed. That part felt like a scene from a comedy or something. I can't believe he actually asked for information leading to the location of the pizza. I was half-expecting him to offer a reward for the safe return of the pizza. 🤦
It was vital to the case... Jo bought it, but the pizza was not eaten by her... so the killer had taken it. Pizza box discarded could provide clues. {We lived locally at the time} ''Tabak admits that he ate pizza on the evening he killed Yeates but denies it was hers. He claims he took the pizza and its box from her flat after killing Yeates and dumped it in a municipal bin. The prosecution suggested Tabak had eaten it.''
@@chrissiec5541 Should have been mentioned how crucial the pizza was...It was not in Jo's flat, and this was the last thing she was seen buying.... Say you to I buy a pizza, it would most likely be in either the fridge, or eaten....and the packing would be in the bin ....for it to have just disappeared, packing and all is just not what one would expect. Those had polystyrene packing {we lived near Jo at the time and shopped at same places........ :(
I vividly remember this horrific event. I was at my sister's over that Xmas and a news bulletin came on the TV, on Xmas Day, to say that Jo's body had been found. Sitting in the lounge surrounded by all the sparkle and glitter of the festive season and in that moment it just seemed absurd, wrong even, to be having such a fine time. Even whilst having zero connection to Jo and her family we were all so subdued that day. And the way Christopher Jeffries was treated, particularly by the press, was just sadistic even by gutter press standards. I suppose to some Jeffries WAS an oddball character even a bit creepy looking, but his character was ruthlessly shredded by the red tops and other newspapers. He desered every single penny in compensation that he received. And in part he helped in the demise of The News of the World which was a joy to witness.

I remember seeing Christopher Jefferies' face on the front of the Sun and thinking that, guilty or not, he was going to have a bad time in the press. It seemed that every single person who had ever known him was approached for a story, and the fact that he was educated and liked his own company was twisted to make him look like some loner weirdo.

Call me paranoid but I always lock my inside storm door, so I can open my front door and talk without anyone getting inside. I also make a point to answer the door with my phone in hand, if it's late I crack the window to talk lol. If you answer the door and pretend to be on a phone call people who are up to no good would probably leave, especially if you said something like "oh, my neighbour from so n so just came to the door". Could deter creeps like this.
Neighbors amaze me when u don't want anything to do with them their nosy and all up in your business, but when they have a genuine reason to be in your business like hearing screams or help me they don't do shit!
Couldn't have said it better! Like that woman in NY (?) Who was raped and murdered in the LOBBY of a building; with several witnesses and no one said a word.
I was working at the Tesco that Joanna was last seen in. The rumours in the area following the disappearance were awful. Locally, everyone pointed the finger at Jeffries with locals saying things to me like “his finger nails are long and yellow”. People assumed it was him because he was odd and looked a little scruffy. Amazing how quick people are to jump to conclusions and run someone’s name through the dirt like that.

It's crazy, I saw Jeffries picture and thought "oh I know this story, he did it". I didn't even know it wasn't him, as a Brit I just knew his face from papers, amazing what the media do and how much theh can effect peoples lives!
All the other creators videos I've seen about this case paints Jeffries as the killer.
Yet, the British laws over protect individuals for whom there is an abundance of evidence of guilt.
@Chantel "and how much effect they can have on people's lives"
*There are many who never recover from being falsely accused...it ruins their life forever! Even after being vindicated...it's so deeply ingrained in people's heads that they are bad...they can't find jobs, their wife/husband won't get back together with them, child alienation, friend alienation, etc. etc.* Terrifying!
And as frightening as that is, just know that they do that with everything!

True- being single is suspect behavior. The easiest crime to commit I suppose

For sure. I found this a couple of weeks ago and swiftly watched every one!
The fact that he killed her and then texted his girlfriend "im bored" o.0
kiti neko....right?!? Everyone on here is talking about the dang pizza and I can’t get over that part.
The boyfriend killed her. He has connections to the police
@Ben Siener it's not his connection that made him. It's his connection that led to it being covered up
Can you imagine this man's thought process? If he killed her by "accident" his anxiety would be so heightened that there is no possible way he'd think of taking that pizza or saving it for later. His mind would be too occupied with the body in front of him but no. This man meticulously killed this woman, calmly looked at a pizza and thought he'd save it for later or eat it as a reward for his 'hard work'. Who is this man trying to fool? Disgusting.
He took the pizza as a trophy. They said Tabak had the makings of a serial killer.

id like a really good explanation as to why whenever a neighbor hears someone screaming "help me" they never do anything to help or tell anyone until its too late. really shitty "dont be a hero" mindset.

It would seem that our media never learn their lesson when it comes to hounding people and judging them.

Ok, imagine you are Vermilion. In your public post, you intimately share with all of us your personal and sincere observations regarding this event. To that effect, you use the first-person pronoun: “I vividly remember this...” while elaborating on your inner thoughts, and you kindly conclude with your belief and wish that “May we all learn not to judge, we are all human.”
In that last part, do you believe that Vermilion was using her sincerity to specifically address journalists in the purposefully sensationalist *media industry* (whose aim is to make money), or was she using the “we” to mean *all* of us, humanity as a whole, including herself?
Now, we all ARE human, right? NONE of us are perfect, yes? We ALL tend to make mistakes, hasty judgments, somewhat unkind remarks?
I mean, HearthCricket used the words _you’re fucking annoying,_ I used the word _asshole,_ and you used the word _over-sensitive dick._
That doesn’t make us monsters - we are simply human beings, still deserving of love and respect, regardless of our faults; still deserving of understanding and forgiveness for our occasional unkindnesses.
Ok, so far we’ve established that:
1. Vermilion wrote a heartfelt post about the imperfections of humanity
Here comes the first comment:
“Don’t _(you dare)_ disperse responsibility by saying we’re all guilty of it.” Yikes, that sounds like a personal accusation directed at you, no?
Just, how DARE they!_
So, as Vermilion, just how DARE you accuse this commenter of being AWFUL and dispersing your guilt onto her?
The last part is my absofuckingfavorite.
_”we’re ashamed of you._
Who is this _we?_ The rare and few decent people left? And who is _you?_ The journalists, or YOU, Vermilion, or the rest of us judgy assholes?
So, Gayle, are you ashamed for calling people a _wildly over-sensitive dick?_ Because Frontina would NEVER do that, and as a decent human being, she’s ashamed of you.
My heart shatters for her Mum and Dad...
“This will be my last video....” brief terror “...of the decade.” Now I need a drink

I thought he was going to start laughing towards the end of that clip, or at least acknowledge the ridiculousness of what he was saying.
It was vital to the case... Jo bought it, but the pizza was not eaten by her... so the killer had taken it. Pizza box discarded could provide clues. {We lived locally at the time}

And the way Christopher Jeffries was treated, particularly by the press, was just sadistic even by gutter press standards. I suppose to some Jeffries WAS an oddball character even a bit creepy looking, but his character was ruthlessly shredded by the red tops and other newspapers. Such a straight face: and then he drops the f bomb and trees. And then the police footage with a bolo on the pizza. Wonderful channel. Love you and your content. Happy 2020 from VA USA!

"I have here pizza. A very delicious one. Tesco Finest's tomato, mozzarella and basil pesto pizza. Mmhh, yummy! You should taste it too. Uh, anyway, back to the actual missing case - that of Ms. Yeates."
That landlord dude actually seems really cool honestly. Like actually funny and genuine lol.
Mike, you do an amazing job. I love how you describe and narrate the events, the editing is great and your personality makes binge watching hard not to do. Good job man. 👏👏👏
Wow. Christmas is ruined for that family forever. What horrible timing.
Could deter creeps like this.
what about pizzas? are you hiding them before opening the door?
Bravo, well said Lucky Lex.
👍❤

🤣
Are we gonna talk about the tub?
ARE WE GONNA TALK ABOUT THE TUB??

Looked like someone had been butchered there...

Been heavily dusted for fingerprints with carbon then a bad job done of cleaning ?
Omg this was going to be my comment. Girl. Yes. Wtf. 😳🤮🤢
Neighbors amaze me when u don't want anything to do with them their nosy and all up in your business, but when they have a genuine reason to be in your business like hearing screams or help me they don't do shit!
Yes, so true, maybe don’t get me started (lol)
@Michelle Lowe 100% agreed...
I'm THAT bitch that will come peep in your window with mace and a steak knife in my pj's because i heard a ruckus..
I'd rather be paranoid and look like an idiot.. I watch too many crime shows
Couldn't have said it better!
