Nice video. But don't forget to secure the covers with tape. Doesn't look nice, but I waited several weeks to order a new cover. I lost one cover on the German Autobahn, maybe not an issue at 75 mph....
Hi, is there a way to mount this Thule Outride 561 on an Inno Japan crossbar? Curious if there is an available adapter to mount on this type of square shaped bars.

Can you transport a bike with a carbon fork?
You can, but the carbon forks will most likely get damaged. If you want a top mounted bike carrier, the Thule Upride would be the best option since there is no attachment to the frame. The Thule Topride or Fastride would be the next options if you are set on this style of carrier since they have torque-limiting attachments, which make it safe for carbon forks.

Great how do you stop the rust?
Materials are mostly aluminum, plastic with zinc-plated fasteners, were are you concerned about rust?
I really like this system for my model 3, however can I put a Thru Axle on this one that is lockable. Im not a fan of the adaptor thru axle plus I don't think you can lock it

@@rackattack Thanks for the response. Does an adapter exist that would go right through the hole of where the locking mechanism is, as opposed to the adapter you linked that would make the bike sit higher than it would otherwise?
Everytime I see these racks it reminds me of a guy driving an Audi carrying 2 bicycles in a mall parking lot. He drove past a steel cross bar to limit vehicles heights to 2 m (6'7"), he probably forgot about the bicycles and hit them pretty hard. Bicycles were destroyed & his roof caved it. I felt so sorry for the guy. For that reason, I will never buy this type of racks 🤣, I prefer the ones mounted on the tow hitch.

Great video. Quick question- I bought 2 racks (Thule Fastride), can’t figure out how to switch the plate to left side (so that rack plate on driver’s side faces plate of passenger rack (i.e. both plates are further from the car edge). Manual shows how but can’t seem to pull that end part out! Any tips?
You have to remove the rear encap from the tray first, there are three plastic tabs that will need to be pried up a bit to remove. Best method is to pull on the endcap and lift each tab slightly one at a time. Then you can slide the plate off and flip it around. Hope that helps!

Actually according to Thule its pronounced "ˈtü-lē". Used to be a common debate at the water cooler, then we all got shirts from Thule that had the phonetics. Words are fun and sometimes never what you think. Like the word Chic...Wild
