We were able to have a gentle c-section which mean we were able to do skin to skin.Because my son was early term he was spending more energy to maintain his bodyweight and eat so his blood sugar and temp was low. Thank you so much, I don’t know anyone who has had the same experience as me so this made me feel so much better. I had an open myomectomy for 1 large fibroid, top of uterus, had to cut all the way through as it was inside and I had to stay in the hospital for 3 days because I couldn’t even roll over let alone get up till day 2 :/ same day surgery my ass. I am finally recovered fully and preparing to try again, know I have to have a c-section and have a family history of 3 week early babies. Congratulations!!!!! I had my son in December and he’s 6 months now. When I was delivering him his heart rate was decreasing and I was about to get a c-section, but I said I’m going to push and he was out in 5 mins and completely healthy.
My daughter was born in December too.... but I had to have a c-section because I had one with my son for the same reason his heart rate would drop everytime i had a contraction
Congrats on baby boy!💙 Your myomectomy experience was very similar to mine I had back in 2013...the pain was intense! I had 3 fibroids that were removed (2-almond sized, 1-grapefruit sized). Recovery was definitly difficult and I was told that I MUST have a C-section if I were to have kids. No kids yet, at 35...but this video helped a lot in explaining what to expect w/ an eminent C-section. Thank you for sharing your story!🤗
This made me a tad more afraid of my myomectomy but nothing I know I cant get through. I like the realism. My fibroid was 4 cm two year ago and I missed my ultrasound for one year and in the two years it grew 5 cm so my 9 cm fibroid is a little smaller than the head of a newborn, per my gyn. Nervous to get this out but I do want kids in the future. Just turned 30 and I would hate something like a fibroid to be the reason why I don't have kids later. Great Vid! I wonder how frequently Asian women get fibroids...Black women have them a lot. My grandmother, my mother and myself. AH WOMANHOOD lol Edit: Had the myomectomy 7 weeks ago- and she's right...it sucked...it's DOABLE, but it's long and uncomfortable and pillows are your only true friends in life...but I hear C-sections are easier...at first I was like "Im never gonna get cut again, this is BS" but now I think C-section really might be easier...you're not getting worked on...just getting the baby out, no extra cutting, no fibroids removed, or that jazz. :)
I'm so glad I came across this video. I have an open myomectomy March 17th. And now my significant other says he wants to start trying for a baby soon. My instant fear was that I couldn't have a baby after this. I'm so happy you conceived! This gives me hope 🥰 thank you
Hi Amerie I have had 2 c-sections and I have Fibroids which caused alot of problems with bleeding im getting a hysterectomy soon its good to know that ur sharing ur story so many woman suffer from fibroids and don't take action and get them removed because there scared of surgery and the recovery Thanks!! For sharing ur story much Love from D.M.V.
I am curious if you had the hysterectomy to address fibroids and if so, whst the recovery experience was like. Also had two C-sections and making some decisions.
I just had my myomectomy yesterday. I’m in so much pain. Mainly from the air they pumped into me, anesthesia and the pain medication side effects. Praying for a speedy recovery.
Love hearing people talk about their experiences with anesthesia! Based on your history, I suspect your anesthesia provider may have opted for an epidural catheter (over the single injection spinal) in case your surgery ran long. Leaving the catheter allows us to prolong the duration of your anesthetic. Loved the video!!!

I'm very happy you and your baby are fine. I saw this video and many others on your channel and... WOW, you look so human, so down-to-earth... what an amazing woman you are!!! :)
OMG, I needed this type of review. But when I realized it was YOU, I screamed. I was like dang this girl looks so familiar. Why don't we fall in love is one of my favorite songs. Anyhoo. I am preparing for baby #2. I had a myomectomy last year in September and my son is due this December. So this video means a lot to me because I really don't want to have a c section, just due to my recovery process from my myomectomy had the lack of insight I had about the recovery process. But this video gave me some piece of mind. I have my c section consultation next week, so I feel like now I won't feel so against having a c section. Thanks so much for this video. Can you do a "what's in my diaper bag" video?
I'm glad I could help with some tips. And I hope you're feeling prepared with your csection around the corner in December! Stay in prayer, and just know that it is going to be a-ok! God bless you and please let us know how your healing process goes! sending you huge hugs and love!
Beautiful video! Thanks for giving this information to so many women who really need to hear it. Very helpful Ameriie! Can you do a video about how you decided you were ready to have kids?
Thank you so much for sharing your 2 experiences with us, it's been a real trove of information. And you've given me a few questions to ask my doctor before the surgery that I hadn't thought about, like the type of incision, the location of the incision. I have intramural fibroids so I worry I'll have a C-section but I remain hopeful for NVB. xx I can't imagine what you felt when your son reached out for you and grabbed your finger. What a beautiful moment! Thank you again!
Thanks for sharing your story with us! I'm sure this will help a lot of women who are going through what you went through. Hope you and your beautiful family are doing well 🤗😊 ❤️-Angie
Congrats on your baby boy!! Thank you so much for sharing your story. The day that I was scheduled for a myomectomy, I found out that I was pregnant. I am scheduled to give birth to my baby boy next month via a C-Section. Wishing you continued blessings and a wonderful journey of motherhood.
I could totally relate to your post op experience. Just had an open myomectomy a few days ago and the way you described ur post op pain and struggle is just so accurate! Thanks for sharing this.
I have a fibroid a little smaller than a grapefruit and I have also been told ill need the myomectomy surgery I’m considering it!! The talk on how much pain u were in definitely scared me and also prepared me!! Also when u were talking about your anxiety during the csection i deal with that also when I don’t have control thank u for your video
@@CMK2712 hi yes i tried chaste berry tree capsules I went pescatarian and stopped eating meat I’ve also started working out more, my fibroid ended up growing one centimeter larger!! I have definitely considered possibly removing it
@@Mrsgrant2002 has your doctor recommended meds for temporary menopause? My doctor wants me to do this in hopes of shrinking it before surgery but I really don’t want to take that route. I’m going to get a second opinion after scouring the internet. I found this natural doctor who I spoke briefly with this past week. He mentioned the possibility of me being estrogen dominant which can lead to fibroid growth, thyroid problems, etc. So removing the fibroid is good but doesn’t actually fix the core problem. I’m hoping he can help me. Prayers up to you and hopefully we can get rid of these suckers and have a healthy, thriving uterus!
@@Giggles50 hi… yes I ended up finding a doctor who removed it without me having to be placed in temporary menopause. I ended up having two (one the size of a grapefruit and one the size of a golf ball that wasn’t visible until the surgery). I’m so glad I had them removed I feel so much better! I also changed my diet significantly in hopes that they will never return. So far so good!
All of this is TMI but I'm super here for it. I'm also interested in the Korean Postpartum. No, I don't have a uterus, but I have been glued to this since you began!
Thank you so much for making this video. I'll be having a myomectomy next week and it has been hard finding real stories and experience. Your video definitely helped me 🙏
Just found out I have a fibroid at the top in the muscle wall. This was one of the most informative videos I have seen on TH-cam about Myomectomy. Thank you! I’m going to have one through the belly button. I really appreciate all the information.
Thank you so much for sharing your story so in-depth! I also get anxiety and started getting panic attacks recently in life so I totally felt your panic attack when you were describing it. I had a miscarriage recently, probably due to my large fibroid. I was afraid the fibroid removal would weaken my uterus so my husband and I wanted to see first if we could get pregnant normally without the removal. Now, after conceiving naturally and losing my baby, we have opted for a myomectomy and hopefully I can conceive again, afterwards. Thank you for helping me to mentally and emotionally prepared for this road ahead.
I'm not even half way through but I just had to say, you are doing a great job with explaining everything, so detailed! I had a myomectomy May 9th, I shared my story, mostly on social media so it was in bits & pieces...I may need to do a TH-cam video....I have to ask my doctor about the c section or natural birth, I'm not pregnant but I have planned on a natural birth at a birthing center 😏 everything you said regarding your myomectomy story was so actual factual...thanks for sharing!!! Congratulations on mommyhood
I just suffered from a miscarriage and it was suggested that I get a myomectomy before trying again. Thank you for sharing your journey. Im nervous about the surgery and pregnancy afterwards. How long did you wait after surgery before trying to get pregnant again?
Thank you Ameriie for sharing both of your stories. I love how informative you are and you don't just skip over topics. Congratulations on your beautiful son! I am sure that you are going to be an amazing mother. Please continue to do updates and looked into foods, minerals and different herbs for anxiety there are some good stuff out there.
Congratulations, Ameriie, and thanks for being so detailed! I'm wondering if you could speak more on your overall thoughts on being pregnant in your late 30s. I know for a lot of women, there are a lot of questions and possible concerns about it, and I think it would be helpful to hear your thoughts on it.
I thought she said she had it done in 2015 in the video. She had her baby in 2018. So depending on the month, it was at minimum 2 years. Unless I misheard the year she said she had it done.
I am so glad that I found this video. I was diagnosed with fibroids recently and I’m scheduled for a myoectomy this spring. I’ve been so worried about getting pregnant and giving birth, since my doctor told me that I won’t be able to have a natural birth post surgery. I am so happy to hear that your pregnancy and c-section went well. This gives me hope. Thank you.

That was so helpful, I’ve had a laparoscopic myomectomy done robotically to remove my fibroids. I have to get a c-section too, whenever we decide to get pregnant. This is according to my doctor that completed the fibroid surgery. I was afraid to do the c-section bc it took me forever to recover from the fibroid surgery. Lol Hearing your story is encouraging and confirmation that all is well. Thank you! ❤️✨
Hi, how many fibroids did you get remove in you laparoscopic and how many in your open myomectomy? Which one did you do first the laparoscopy or the open myomectomy? I have 10 fibroids and I don’t know which one to choose
An hour of you talking really makes my day. You're so strong and down to earth and I love it. Quick question. Is that a cactus behind you on the windowsill?
Thank you Ameriie, for sharing this personal journey with us. I can relate and also applaud you for having the operation before becoming pregnant. My (orange sized) fibroid was discovered during my first scan at 13wks, i was told its quite normal and sent on my way. Only to then have a premature rupture, cord prolapse, breech baby and emergency c-section at 26wks. Thank the heavens my baby boy survived, but i am still left with the fibroid now the size of a small melon. Its put me off having more children as the experience was very traumatizing and intense. Again thank you for sharing your journey very inspiring. Peace and love from the UK. 😊
That’s exactly what happened to me too. Stabbing pain throughout pregnancy and ended up With premature rupture of membrane at 26week. Baby delivered by emergency CS at 26 weeks. Fibroid left in there and not removed. Still trying to recover from traumatic experiences. Baby end up in NICU. Post partum rough
Congratulations again and thank you for sharing your fibroid/birth story!!! I am half Japanese so I completely understand the whole confinement and eating/not eating certain foods after birth, so I'm glad you brought that up in this video! Curious to learn more about the Korean method!!! Thank you, and I have been a fan since the beginning
with myomectomy, several incisions are made on the uterus, c-section is only 1 incision and u get epidural to numb the lower part of your body, remember in myomectomy there is no epidural to numb any limb... tx u for the information. I still believe that fibroids and ovarian cysts need to be taught at high school. There is little information about it, many women are suffering and get the surprise of their life time when they want to start a family.
Wow what an incredible story! So cute how he held your hand when he was born. I almost had an emergency c-section and I agree that the operation room is scary. Great tips for after the birth too. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for your detailed Myomectomy story. I’m going in next week. Super nervous. But thankful you shared your story so I know now what to expect. xo
All the best I just had my myomectomy 3 weeks ago, my recovery was very smooth mainly because I had my mom with me helping with a lot. My pain management was great and I’m surprised Amerie had such pain. Honestly I felt so little pain that I was walking normally in 3 days. My only problem now is the belly pooch that formed ( I’m 5’4 and weigh 56kg) my stomach has always been very flat but now there is a little pooch above the scar line which honestly I’m devastated about but I’m starting training soon to tackle that So I will say talk to your doctor about the pooch because seeing it after is not a pretty sight. But I’m fibroid free now 😃
Hi Amerie! I have to have a c-section myomectomy and your video has prepared me. Quick question, did they put a tube down your throat? They said I should buy cough drops as I might have a sore throat after surgery.
Hey congrats ! Whenever You get a chance could you do a review of the throne of glass series? Like the whole thing. I just started reading them a month ago. I’m on book six now and I’m debating on reading it now or wait until the last one comes out in October. I really wanted to hear your feelings on the series and what you thought of them. I started reading again because of your channel, and I respect your views. Thank you if you can. If you can’t thanks anyway and I’ll continue to support you. Again, congrats on your baby boy.
Loved your music from long time. Sorry to hear about your the Fibroids. I have been doing yoni pearl cleansing and drinking fibroid tea from amazon or ebay for the pain it's worked a lot for me massively and my flows not as heavy or long. I'm worried about this happening too when I have children and have 2 Fibroids. It's so nice for you to share and congratulations on your family xx

not even finished watching the video but you're talking about what induces panic attacks and I am right there with you! Ever tried to watch Cosmos? I can't. Immediate panic attack.
Congrats on your baby Amerie I don’t know why I feel a bond when women have c-sections. My c-section story is a little different... times were different... I was 16 years old ... they induced labor at 7a by 9p I still hadn’t dialated they decided on c-section and unfortunately all off the anesthetic wore off. I remember them starting from right to left cutting saying can you feel it .. I felt every cut every pain telling them it’s not the pressure but the pain I have a bikini cut abs were not cut but separated due to the baby and I have a hernia (I remember my aunt was there and her crying for me) ... me in my tough state I refused to scream or cry they took out my bladder and uterus (I did not see this my aunt did) then they pulled my baby boy out and the placenta is when I actually screamed it was super painful. He was 8lb 9oz. I remember the doctor counting 38 blood soaked towels. Not the greatest experience but my baby is now 26 years old with a family of his own and THAT WAS MY ONLY AND ONLY KID!!! Best wishes on the parenting journey!!!!

My daughter was born in December too.... but I had to have a c-section because I had one with my son for the same reason his heart rate would drop everytime i had a contraction
I can tell that you read books alot by the way you speak. I literally pictured every word you said. Congrats on your new addition!
It’s so beautiful that you’ve allowed us to be apart of this journey. Congratulations 🎉
Thanks for laying out all the details of your experience!! I’m nervous about deciding what to do for my fibroids and this helped me a lot. ❤❤❤
Hi Amerie, your baby will be the best thing that ever happened to you. Keep bringing us the good music and thank you for sharing!
AH WOMANHOOD lol
Edit: Had the myomectomy 7 weeks ago- and she's right...it sucked...it's DOABLE, but it's long and uncomfortable and pillows are your only true friends in life...but I hear C-sections are easier...at first I was like "Im never gonna get cut again, this is BS" but now I think C-section really might be easier...you're not getting worked on...just getting the baby out, no extra cutting, no fibroids removed, or that jazz. :)
r u pregnent?
You explained the myomectomy experience perfectly. I had mine in 2008 and had my first child via c-section 4 yrs later. Best decision I made.
Hi, how many fibroids did you get remove?
I'm so glad I came across this video. I have an open myomectomy March 17th. And now my significant other says he wants to start trying for a baby soon. My instant fear was that I couldn't have a baby after this. I'm so happy you conceived! This gives me hope 🥰 thank you
Congrats Ameriie! Been a fan since 2002, "All I Have" is 1 of my favorite album 2 date.
I wasn’t share if this was her or not!
The gas pain from the c-section is SO MUCH WORSE of a pain than the actual c-section! Could not agree more!
I listen to your song “Talking to me” everyday 😩❤️
Wishing you a speedy recovery🤗😘 i had my myo november 3 almost 6 weeks post op im doing well and my incision healed really good.
God bless your recovery❤️ Take it easy and remember to gently massage after several weeks and keep it up even a couple of years after!
Also wishing you a blessed and safe recovery, RebelChic.❤️
@@Amerie. thank you so much 🤗
Thank you @amerie 💕I’m feeling so much better.
Great video, very informative. Congratulations to you and your husband, God blessed you guys with a BEAUTIFUL baby.👍👍👍👍
It's so weird (in a good way) to hear you talk about the exact same thing I went through with my C.sections.
Ameriie, thank you for sharing. I've missed you, your book reviews, especially your tea times.
I really appreciate you sharing this video. I just had a laparoscopic myomectomy 12x8.5 fibroid. This helped a lot.

Can you share more about the pregnancy? Was it difficult getting pregnant after having the surgery? Did you use IVF or naturally get pregnant?
Reerei Dia what part are you referencing?
I'm very happy you and your baby are fine. I saw this video and many others on your channel and... WOW, you look so human, so down-to-earth... what an amazing woman you are!!! :)
So real! Thanks for sharing. I'm considering surgery and this helped me to know what to expect.
Congrats on your baby
Thank you!
Hey! Congratulations on your baby!!!!! How long did it take to conceive after your myomectomy?
amajirs08 , how many fibroids did you get remove? How did everything go on your baby labor?
First off, congratulations!
Second, how long did it take to conceive?
Definetly getting the hoodie!
She is so pretty still
Thanks for sharing your story with us! I'm sure this will help a lot of women who are going through what you went through. Hope you and your beautiful family are doing well 🤗😊

Just posting to say congrats on the baby, and best wishes. Longtime fan - glad to see you're doing well.
Hooray for a supersized ep! Loved your birth story and all the healthcare tips you provided. Congrats again!
😄Ahhh congratulations! And remember to try the laid back nursing position! God bless you and your little baby boy!!💖💖💖
And just breathe during the surgery and know that everything is going to be blessed!!😘
Thank you so much 😘
I could totally relate to your post op experience.
Me too... And I really don’t want to do the surgery. Have you tried any natural methods to shrink it?
@@CMK2712 Did you find a good doctor? Did you get rid of yours?
Thanks I clicked on quick. Love you and your family. Enjoy everything about you and your stories real life and what your writing.
Congratulations amerie on your little one..looking forward to your album/musical expressions among other gifts you wanna share with the world
Congratulations baby girl. Blessing to your newborn and family. Parenting is a wonderful and joyous responsibility☺
Same, I'm in the situation as you. Had a miscarriage recently and need to do a Myomectomy. I am hopeful for the future. All the best 😊
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! It's so very much appreciated! I'm scheduled for a myomectomy and feel better prepared now.
Can’t wait to see the Korean recovery video!
Curious please where you offered UFE? What were your thoughts on UFE v Myomectomy. Thanks
How long did it take you to get pregnant after the myomectomy?
Same I like to kn
My doctor said you’re supposed to wait at least 6months before trying
how long to wait i reach 4 month
I thought she said she had it done in 2015 in the video. She had her baby in 2018. So depending on the month, it was at minimum 2 years. Unless I misheard the year she said she had it done.
2 years later, she replied on someone else's comment further down the page.
I'm so happy you're sharing your experience ❤️
I am so glad that I found this video. I was diagnosed with fibroids recently and I’m scheduled for a myoectomy this spring. I’ve been so worried about getting pregnant and giving birth, since my doctor told me that I won’t be able to have a natural birth post surgery. I am so happy to hear that your pregnancy and c-section went well. This gives me hope. Thank you.
How many fibroids did you get remove?

Thanks for sharing your story Amerie!! I had my fibroid surgery in April and my recovery time wasn't bad.
Congratulations!!!!! I love watching your videos, they are so calming and relaxing, I feel like I can watch all day.
Sorry you went through such a traumatic experience! But thank God your son is healthy!🙏🏽❤️
That’s exactly what happened to me too. Stabbing pain throughout pregnancy and ended up
With premature rupture of membrane at 26week.
💞💞💞Beautiful story💞💞💞
Congrats to you and your hubby on your lovely bundle of joy! May he bring you much happiness in the coming years😍
So happy I found your channel! I haven’t had a baby yet but I do have anxiety so looking forward to watching your video on that x
When you described the pain tears fell because I remember it well😢 Thank you so much for sharing your experience💛
Thank you so much for your detailed Myomectomy story. I’m going in next week. Super nervous. But thankful you shared your story so I know now what to expect. xo
All the best
I just had my myomectomy 3 weeks ago, my recovery was very smooth mainly because I had my mom with me helping with a lot. My pain management was great and I’m surprised Amerie had such pain. Honestly I felt so little pain that I was walking normally in 3 days.
My only problem now is the belly pooch that formed ( I’m 5’4 and weigh 56kg) my stomach has always been very flat but now there is a little pooch above the scar line which honestly I’m devastated about but I’m starting training soon to tackle that
So I will say talk to your doctor about the pooch because seeing it after is not a pretty sight. But I’m fibroid free now 😃
@@fullmetalprism5249 Did you get it done laparoscopically?

I'm so excited for you and your new journey!!! I know you're an amazing mother!!! God bless you and yours always all ways😚
Hi Amerie! I have to have a c-section myomectomy and your video has prepared me. Quick question, did they put a tube down your throat? They said I should buy cough drops as I might have a sore throat after surgery.
Wow! Congrats on the baby! I had no idea there was so much involved in pregnancy/C section! Thanks for sharing!
CONGRATULATIONS on your new bundle of joy!
Wow, this was so informative. Thank you for sharing your experience, and congratulations!!
Thank you!😊
After watching this video, I feel calmer. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you and your family. ❣
Congratulations on your baby! Also, thank you for sharing your birth story. I had my baby boy a week ago and I suffer with anxiety, too. How was your anxiety during your pregnancy?
not even finished watching the video but you're talking about what induces panic attacks and I am right there with you!
I can imagine what you went through no one should go through such horrific experience, but thank God your son is okay and doing well
Listening to your c section story and I can't belive I did this 5 times!

My best friend had one 4 years ago, and they cut the abdomen I'm guessing similar to yours. Very interesting and informative story! Thanks for sharing and congrats!!!
