Nice tour! Very informative and I really enjoyed the landscape. What type of rock is predominant in this area? Oh, and let me take this moment to invite you to take up a challenge- I’m going to post a short video today, asking others to create a 2 minute or less video to answer the question, “Why do you hike?” 🥾 I think it would be a fun way to connect with others from around the world that share an interest in the Great Outdoors ☀️
It's a mixture of Old Red Sandstone, like you find along the Orkney coast and carboniferous rock, in this case Massive limestone. That's according to a Geological flyer I found. I think around that coastal area in particular there is a lot of volcanic rock. Scotland is actually very heterogeneous when it comes to rock types, there's a lot of variety. As far as the video about hiking goes, I'm definitely interested! I will have to find a nice, quiet place to film. 😉
@@OnMistyMountains - thank you for the information! I often say that I wish I knew a geologist that I could hike with, as I’m always interested to know about the rocks. Yes! You’re a great vlogger, so I hope you’ll consider responding to my “why do you hike?” Sometime future ☀️ have a great week my friend
Really enjoyed this Elena . Very interesting. Good to hear Conor as well !
He is more of an expert on this than me, so I make sure everybody else can benefit from his knowledge.
Done this hill and it’s one of my favourite
