    A 100% all-American car. I wish we still made our own things today. There’s just a quality in American manufacturing that is unrivaled.

    The 35 Ford looks so modern, 9 years earlier Ford was mostly selling the Model T.

    I wonder if they still have proving grounds? My uncle sold Fords from 1925 to 1970, from the Model T to the LTD--he got to experience the year by year progression of the automobile from the most rudimentary of puddle jumpers to easily one of the most beautiful cars on the market, and equipped with a 429 could keep up with anything on the road. Sadly, he died in November of '70 at 76.

    he only had to work an 8 hour shift to afford his new ford.while today we have to work 24 hours to afford a new ford.the sad part is, the 35 ford was more reliable than a 2022 ford.theres something WRONG with that situation.

    Henry probably thought it was too big, too heavy, too complex, and too expensive. The 1935 Plymouth was engineered better.

      Maybe so - my Chrysler is a great car - but the Ford handily out-performed the Plymouth

      @@michaelbenardo5695 That is true. Both Plymouth and Chevrolet only had 6-cylinder engines until 1955. But Plymouth sales increased consecutively year after year from 1928 until 1938. Most buyers expected a low-price car to be economical and affordable and were not looking for performance. Ford had the advantage in performance but lagged behind in other areas.

      Not really. The Ford flathead V8 was the first AFFORDABLE V8. Not the fastest. But, moonshiners liked the car because it was fast enough and dependable.

    Only problem is half of them are sitting in a storage facility waiting on chips from China and the rest are being held to be converted to electric. Just plug them in between the barn and the outhouse. 😆

    Closest look I can think of is the PT Cruiser 😂 but obviously this model is much cooler looking, perhaps because weaker safety standards gave manufacturers more design leeway. Who wouldn't want a Ford V8?? 😉

      @@chrishenniker5944 Interesting. I'm sure Henry Ford Sr. had well founded reasons for the transverse leaf spring suspension that were common in Fords until 1948. It's also interesting that after he died, Ford cars were quickly modernized with conventional suspensions.
      I'll speculate that Henry Ford II had the more modern shoebox Ford all ready to go when the Senior died. That and how quickly the OHV V8 was developed to replace the flathead V8 in 1954.

    Nice upload Most don't know this, but you ruined its historical viewing value by putting ANY overlays on it. HISTORICAL VALUE = Untouched, or Edited. The Smithsonian & The U.S National Archives considers this a No, No.
