      I think there are, and the numbers are growing. So many Americans are sick of only having “the lesser of two evils” as presidential options. The Green Party seems to be America’s rescue from the stranglehold of the long, painful history of ineffective two-party politics. I’m going to spread the message of hope for the U.S. and for the entire world -that is the leadership of the intelligent, knowledgeable, logical, and rational Jill Stein as president of the United States.

    To people who say that it's a waste of a vote, it's never a waste to vote for what you believe and in this case build the Green Party, but moreover it is not just about winning this election, it's about influencing the issues. The Socialist Party in the early 20th century was a strong 3rd party that was pushing for Social Security and the 8 hour work day. Eventually the Democratic party adopted those issues and they became law.

    It's true, as an American citizen who loves my country. I've hated seeing the American empire and all the agendas of a conqueror's mentality get prioritized above people's ability to live as healthy sovereign individuals.

    • @Asiablue
      @Asiablue ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no such thing as a “sovereign individual.”

    • @chillonfunsmart4929
      @chillonfunsmart4929 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      (sorry it's a little long winded but I'm passionate about this)
      You could choose to see a "sovereign individual" like the concept of perfection; something that one is able to always move towards but not necessarily ever attain as an absolute.
      But I would argue that that the sovereignty with in us is the mere fact that we have the potential to realize and claim it for our selves if we want to. It's literally who we are and embedded in our DNA.
      In terms of our institutions, and how a person is perceived on something like a piece of legal documentation, there should be an inherent recognition of that person as a sovereign individual.
      In contrast, right now our government often refers to "the people" as "consumers."
      It's true that people limit themselves if they don't work together and the idea is that we need to balance our freedom with security to survive.
      A sovereign individual is someone who recognizes/claims their own sovereignty within themselves and if they think about their own sustainability as a sovereign individual they will see that potential in others too and honor another's expression of that, so long as it does not infringe on another's potential for sovereignty.
      The United States at its essence is supposed to serve "The people" to help them maximally attain their greatest possible potential for freedom and with that the security to be free. It is supposed to be a means for us all to realize our sovereignty individually and collectively.
      The challenge is that our culture/government/economic system sees freedom as something to attain selfishly. As much as I like capitalism for what it can do, like socialism, it has not accounted for the monopolization of power and the inherent lean towards centralized power.
      Inevitably centralized power leaves a door open for tyranny.
      Our government has also not adequately accounted for this.
      I am optimistic that many people intuitively feel this way at some level, but the powers that be need to become more decentralized and open source in order for use to have greater access to frankly who we are collectively at our best, sovereign individuals.

    If the People do not take control of their government right away they may never be able to direct their own destiny.
    Replacing Republican and Democratic lawmakers with pro-human lawmakers is imperative if Americans are actually going to govern themselves and improve their circumstances.

    • @rtquest22

      No she's not making sense. Few questions that should be asked is whether she's for small or big govt, freedom or welfare dependency or rugged individualism or collectivism. She can talk about choices all she wants but whether she has the spine to back up her principles (whatever that may be) and face public scrutiny everyday is something that ought to pay attention to.

Thats beyond ignorant, and doesnt make sense when only two parties represent hundreds of millions of people. Any additional party would structurally be IDENTICAL to existing parties, and therefore be prone to the same exact corrupting influences that result in bad lawmaking.

      The Party is as the Party does. Its record speaks louder than its words. Look and see what the Party has been doing and then tell me what the value of the good sentiments of a few Party members amounts to.
      As long as the Party remains funded mainly by corporate special interests it is not reasonable to believe the Party will change it's ways.

    • @coolioso808
      @coolioso808 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nursemcfarlane6655 Stein will continue running withe Green party which has establish ballot access, I believe 17 states before 2024 campaign started and West will run Independent and he announced he's on a few state ballots already and moving on up. They don't have to team up on the same party, at least not yet, but if either of them gather a larger following, like near 20% of the vote, their voice will be heard more and MSM would have to give them some coverage, boosting them more.
      Nearing November, if West and Stein campaigns have about 25% of the voter's support, they can use leverage. If they know they won't win but could still offer their supporters to the (pretend) worker party Democrats if they agree to do certain things like: End money and weapon support to Israel, free Julian Assange, cancel all student debt, Medicare for All, Housing for All, things along those line, then the Dems could win over Trump.
      Well, if the Dems don't agree with that (even lying to say they will) then they lose to Trump because they didn't even pretend to make a case the people are demanding. If they Dems to agree to those demands, they win the election and then of course, break their promise - that's fuel to the people's movement to stay on them. To never stop protesting and calling out the Dem government for their fraud. That's political pressure that the people can do if they don't want a Trump 2nd term and they don't want to vote for Genocide Joe but they know there isn't enough votes for West or Stein to win, that leaves political leverage left to do.
      I'd understand people not voting or still voting Stein or West and not voting Biden or Trump even if Biden and Dems lie to agree with West and Stein campaigns.
      Let's be honest. It's a bloody swamp in politics, mostly. But that doesn't mean we the people can't use strategy to our advantage.

      Hi Sharon. In a system wherein 50% + 1 vote wins an election, 3rd parties effectively have no chance. The ‘winner takes all’ nature of such a system, more or less automatically forces a 2 party system. Any 3rd party ‘dilutes’ the votes of the intellectually nearest large party. [This is why the US installs parliaments, when it gets the chance, as in Germany, Japan, etc…] Cheers.

      *. No student debt cancellation
      *. No public option
      * No legalized cannabis
      *. No paid family & medical leave
      *. No universal child care
      Whether a Democrat or Republican wins, the people lose. ALWAYS.
      When we vote for ANY Democrat or Republican, our vote says we want more:
      *. Wars
      *. Tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy
      *. Homelessness
      *. Poverty

      *. Privatization of public works (USPS, Medicare, water, schools, etc.)
      *. Shredding of the social safety net
      As long we continue voting for ANY Democrat or Republican, this is what we’ll keep getting because that’s what we voted for! The govt needs the consent (vote) of the governed (us) to do this to us & when we vote for them for ANY reason, we’re giving them our consent to do it!

    Nice video - the problem goes beyond the duopoly - it's their bipartisan corporate-based policy-making that's driving all these crises - so what's needed is a corporate-free ballot line, so ppl know anyone running for any office on that ballot has no corporate strings attached - Greens offer the only national-scale corporate-free ballot line, tied to a progressive platform - this may be the single most valuable electoral resource for progressives, to enable them to vote in hundreds of candidates - so how to use this resource?
    That's what sets Stein's campaign apart, not just her platform - this is the difference between voting 3rd party vs voting for an isolated Independent - Stein's Green candidacy is steering this huge electoral vehicle that can accommodate large numbers of candidacies on multiple levels
    - Greens are closest to being our Gateway Party, that can break thru the duopoly and open the doors for other parties - Greens champion Ranked Choice Voting and Proportional Representation, which would enable a multi-party democracy, to bring more different parties onto the ballots - Greens are also aiming to be the electoral arm of our various social mvmts, for M4All, Gaza, living wage, climate reform, global peace, prison reform, etc -
