Exactly. Because that's when he wanted that prosecutor fired, or they weren't going to get the money so his son could get on the board. That's money laundering and Biden protected himself. Or tried to protect himself when he pardoned hunter all the way back to 2014? Well, guess what? There's no statute of limitations on treason, and that's what it was treason to the United States. Wither play for pay scheme

You can be pardoned for something you haven't been charged with. Nixon pardoning all Vietnam War draft dodgers(people known but not yet charged) who fled to Canada for instance. Nixon set precedent. Hunter's pardon go back 10 years. So all the Burisma stuff he may or may not have done is off the table.

@amandacollyer645 i think Nixon's pardon was like that. The idea was to pardon him so the country didn't have to fight within itself through the investigation and prosecution. The probable real motivation is that Nixon didn't send those guys to the hotel, and an investigation would have told what really happened. So that's 2 for 2 to support a cover-up.

I like the classification that Steven describes for politicians: either you want to be something or you want to do something. It really fits well. Unfortunately I think the people that want to be something are more likely to move forward.

I agree with Robbie about the gun charge being mostly nonsense but what he is failing to realize or just leaving out is the only reason that was charged with that is because they were trying to wrap all the tax crimes and whatever else he maybe charged with in the future for like peddling influence into that minor case and it blew up on him when the judge said no way. Had they not tried to wrap it all up in that one charge he probably never would have been prosecuted on that crime.

The Trump Justice Department should ignore the pardon, pursue the cases against both Bidens, and prosecute in normal course. Biden's act is overly broad, self-serving to avoid his own criminal conduct, and lawless. Let Biden try to enforce that pardon once he's out of office and guilt has been established against both of them.

If he was smart and actually cared about both his legacy and his son, he’d have just pardoned Trump instead and claimed it was to heal the divide and acknowledge the will of the American people. Love him or hate him, Trump is not a complicated man and I’d almost guarantee he’d return the favor by not pursuing any further charges on Hunter, or even pardoning him himself to return the favor.

"What a good father and wouldn't anybody do the same and how can you blame him and the charges were trumped up to begin with so what does it even matter let's look away now."
The Right when Trump pardons himself:
"What an exemplar of loving yourself and positive mental health and wouldn't anybody do the same and how can you blame him and the charges were trumped up to begin with and Joe already did it with a family member clearly for nepotism so what does it even matter let's look away now."

Not 6 weeks until the end of his term. So the question is why the delay well the only possible answer is to eliminate evidence and witnesses that could indirectly or directly incriminate you.
